The property was clean and very comfortable just steps from canal street. The manager was nice and made sure I had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. I would book this particular house again
Unit is nice, maintenance is terrible. Shower heads are plugged. Had to remove the head to get water, numerous lightbulbs burnt out and a broken bed. Paid for early arrival and it was over 45 minutes late. Very disappointing for 500 a night
The apratmetn is nice. You can tell its an older home and we loved that. Really close to all the action but far enough away that you can sleep and not hear everyone oarty all night. The host was helpful and quick to answer any questions. My app wouldnt let me write them back to tell them thank you for letting us stay and we enjoyed our time. The attic light was on but I wasnt about to go up there to turn a light off. All in all it was a great stay and I would definitely go back!
Great lodging value for the money. Amenities were excellent, no weird odors, bath and linens super clean, WiFi and Smart TVs worked. Location was key, I was able to walk to convenience stores, coffee, green-belt park and a breakfast/lunch cafe. Easy access to freeway and/or public transportation.

I have too many complaints
- there was a property with conjoined walls for another VRBO. For the first 3-4 days there was a beeping from a smoke alarm that was going on 24/7, and was easily heard throughout our house so it was hard to sleep. We asked to get it fixed and it didn’t get fixed until 3 days later.
- other tenants to the conjoined vrbo were obnoxious and were stomping up and down their hall until 2am with boots/high heels on.
- there was a dead bug hanging from the vent on the ceiling of the bedroom.
- the heater has a schedule that would be set to 84 and 90 degrees so it would randomly make us start sweating at midnight or at 10 am.
- I also got hassled by people surrounding the neighborhood late at night, it is a pretty sketchy part of town.
Our stay was great less the batteries for the remote. The TV was basically useless..

Good for the price
The house is cute but has the potential to be much better by making small changes such as:
Adding more utensils (literally 3 forks in the entire place!), better pots/pans, and a corkscrew. If owner spent less than $100 on these things, it would make a big improvement!
The couch in the front room had cigarette burns and the small area rug in the middle room was filthy with stains. Sadly, the burns are likely just from a bad prior renter and i wouldn't expect owner to replace the couch but the carpet should be thrown out and a new one bought for around $25 (worth it!)
Lastly, the neighborhood is NOT GREAT and I definitely wouldn't walk around it at night, so my final suggestion is including a key or keypad for the FRONT door because it was a bit uncomfortable using only the back door especially at night.
Overall, I would still stay there again as the price was good and the communication was good. I just hope the owner listens to some of these easy suggestions to take the place from "good" to "better"!
We can feel NOLA vibe from first step into the house! Exceptionally clean and wothin walking distance from cable car stop. Close to parkway bakery, best po-boy in town! They close mon tue and after 4PM week days. Went two times to cafe du monde because 1 time just not enough, be sure to have cash, gumbo shop was ok but their creole shrimp was amazing!
