Eastham home near the water & bike path; large screened in porch - Pet Friendly
Minutes to the bay beaches, ocean and Cape Cod rail trail (bicycle path) our contemporary home includes 12 sky lights that allow the sun to stream in. The open floor plan gives this 2,000+ square foot home an even larger feel. There is a cathedral ceiling family room and sun room and the wrap around mahogany deck is perfect for relaxation after a hard day at the beach. The 16 x 16 screened in porch with cathedral ceiling and skylights is perfect for your morning coffee, dinner or just relaxing with a book. Full house air conditioning installed in 2026. The lot is over a half acre and the adjoining lots are large so there is a strong sense of privacy. The house is on a cul-de-sac street so there is very little auto activity. Come and get away from it all! We are also pet friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Phil and Cheryl were fantastic hosts, everything was set up very well and we had all the information and tips we needed. It is a lovely and private location with all the amenities you need and all the fun stuff and amazing restaurants in East, Orleans and Wellfleet only a few mins away. Highly recommended!!
A wonderful stay at a wonderful cottage!Communication with the owners was timely and clear. The cottage was roomy providing both privacy and inviting communal space. The screened in porch was a real hit. The property is well situated. You feel like you’re in the country, wooded and quiet, but has easy access to beaches, shopping and restaurants. We had a memorable and relaxed stay.
The property was clean and as described. Loved the quiet neighborhood and proximity to stores/food/activities beach. Best feature of the home is the multiple gathering places both in and outside- very conducive to time well spent with family :)
We enjoyed staying for a second time at this comfortable home on a quiet street (cul de sac) in a lovely neighborhood that's very well-located - near the bike path, bay beaches, grocery store/shops in Orleans. Great for walking our doggie! We especially enjoyed sitting in the shade of the front porch in the late afternoon and enjoying breakfast in the large screened-in porch.
House was plenty big enough for 8 adults, lots of seats for watching movies at night, and enough comfortable beds for sleeping. Loved the screened in porch and outdoor shower. Kitchen was well equipped . We all had a great time, and the doggies did too :)

Absolutely wonderful!!
We had not been to The Cape in over 20 years and it was just as we remembered. Our grandchildren had never been there and they loved every minute of it!! Thank you Phil for a great house to stay in and for being so easy to get in touch with when necessary. We all are looking forward to next year 😊😊

Thank you Donna,
It is always great when someone like you appreciates the results of the work that went into renovating the house. It has been a work in progress for a few years and we are very happy with the house now....and we were happy to share it with you and your family; we are so glad you enjoyed it.
Let us know when your plans for next summer get settled; we would love to have you visit our house again.A visit to Cape Cod during the summer is always a winner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at at the "Cod Pod." The house if lovely; it is light and airy with tons of windows. There is plenty of room for people to spread out and also three large tables to facilitate gathering together. The screened porch is absolutely fabulous and we enjoyed it at every meal. There is easy access to the bike trail and it is close to attractions in both Orleans and Eastham. We highly recommend this gem.

I spoke with Erica prior to her arrival just to make sure she had all the information about the house that she needed. From that conversation, I immediately knew that she would be a wonderful guest and I was certainly right. She was gracious, appreciative of our home and an excellent communicator. I hope all our future guests are as responsible and pleasant as Erica.
Just returned home from a great family trip and stayed at Phil and Cheryl’s great home in Eastham. We were not disappointed! Both Cheryl and Phil were responsive with any questions we had prior to our trip, check in was a breeze and the house was super clean and well stocked upon arrival. We had eight adults and one very happy white lab! There was plenty of room for all of us and we all enjoyed our meals and late afternoon card games and reading on the large screened in porch. The pictures are spot on .. there was plenty of seating for us all and the kitchen was well stocked with lots of dishes, glasses, cups and lots of pots and pans for cooking. Phil and Cheryl had lots of spices, oil and vinegar, garbage bags, paper towels and laundry detergent! Having the washer and dryer was a godsend! We were close to both the National Seashore and the Bay and took advantage of both! We all had a great time!!

Not nearly worth the money!
Property was in disrepair. Many skylights but all had spider webs and debris. One was broken so when storm hit water rushed in. Many outlets don't work. AC didn't work. Cupboard musty smell--many dishes chipped. Back yard a mess-coudn't use. Closed in porch--moldy chairs --ANTS everywhere. Couldn't use. One TV.

Anne, we are very sorry about your disappointment in our home and are baffled by several of the items you pointed out. We take your feedback very seriously and have looked into the issues you mentioned. You stated that the air conditioning doesn't work, however, our home does not have A/C (central nor window units) and isn't advertised as such. The house is equipped with ceiling fans in every room. You noted in your review that the house has only one TV; the house is only advertised to have one TV. We were very concerned with the other items you mentioned so we contacted the current guests to see if they are experiencing any of the same issues. Regarding water coming in via the skylight during storms, there have been a couple very strong rain storms this week similar to last week and they reported no leaks. We are wondering if when you were at the house, the skylights may not have been closed and the rain came in. Related to the faulty outlets, there are 30+ outlets in the house and the current guests did encounter one faulty outlet and found another working nearby. Regarding the mildew and mustiness, Eastham is surrounded by water and is a marine environment. When it is humid here, especially in July and August, mustiness is a constant challenge in all homes, new and old. There have been significant rain storms over the last several weeks. Given that the screened in porch has a roof and is surrounded by trees (which is great in the very hot sunny weather), when there are rain storms it takes time to dry out and mildew can form very quickly (within days). The house is thoroughly cleaned each week with special attention to any mustiness in the summer months. You mentioned ants. Our current guests did see a couple of ants in the kitchen and then noticed they had left the sugar container ajar which, of course, attracted the ants. They put the jar away and resolved the issue. The backyard is not manicured but rather a typical beachy, natural environment, consistent with the majority of yards in our neighborhood and the Eastham beach community. With all that said, we welcome and are very attentive to our guests' feedback, however, it seems several of the issues you stated are not issues at all (no AC and no skylight leaks) or were caused by human oversight. With a 4.9 rating covering 35 reviews, it’s clear that our other guests consistently felt differently than you about our home.
Airy, large, comfy and clean house close to Great Pond, First Encounter Beach, National Seashore and bike path. Great outdoor spaces and quiet wooded neighborhood. Perfect for families.
We are so happy to have found this home to rent for the week. It is a beautiful house with plenty of space for a memorable family gathering. The screened-in porch nestled amongst the Cape pines was awesome and had a nice breeze in the evening. The Cape Cod bike trail is nearby. Beaches and marsh hikes a short drive away. Would absolutely like to return here! Thank you very much!
We had a really delightful stay at this wonderful house, nestled on a very quiet cul de sac in a convenient location in Eastham. There's some protected land between this road and the short walk to the bike trail, which was perfect for our pooch. We enjoyed many meals in the lovely screened-in porch and afternoon drink on the shaded outside porch. The beds are really comfortable and the upstairs master bedroom/bath is an oasis of privacy, like a separate suite, which was perfect for my Dad. The only thing is that the upstairs does get pretty warm, even in June; a wall unit A/C would make it perfect (perhaps that's already under consideration!).
Great Vacation, Great Space, Beautiful Home with many amenities
My husband and I had a wonderful time at this home. It was huge and we loved the open floor layout. Quiet neighborhood and all the amenities you could ask for. We ate out a lot but I did cook in the fully stocked kitchen with pots/pans/utensils etc. We had an amazing time just relaxing on the enclosed porch and on the front porch.
We had a great family vacation down the cape and the home was great. Very spacious with many areas to relax. Host was very responsive and accommodating !
We had a relaxing getaway at this house. The house is full of light and feels like it’s more remote than it is. The landscaping is quite nice. It’s also very close to beaches, restaurants and anything you need on the cape
We stayed in the house for three nights over the Thanksgiving holiday with my three kids-teenagers and a dog. The place was located in a very peaceful and quite area which let us sleep with great comforts. It’s close enough to towns for grocery shopping and dining. Everything was perfect except the kitchen wares are a bit worn out and need replacement sooner or later. Otherwise, we all had wonderful time there and will visit again!!
The house was beautiful and perfect for our group of 4 adults. Absolutely loved the neighborhood and being so close the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Everything was exactly as described and communication from the hosts was excellent. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back again next year!
Wonderful house on large woodsy lot in quiet neighborhood. Plenty of common spaces including wrap-around porch and screened-in porch. Amazing outdoor shower. Very comfortable. Great location, close to bike path, Great Pond and First Encounter Beach. Owners were very helpful.
The house is well laid out and open and sunny. Tnhe furniture is comfortable as well as the beds. The kitchen is well stocked and the screened-in dining and relaxing area is fantastic; we ate every meal in it. the outside porch is well equipped with chairs and our 10 month old granddaughter enjoyed playing outside. The outdoor shower was sublime. We will definitely stay here again.

We are Cheryl and Phil and live in both Cambridge, MA and Orleans, MA. We are both retired after working over 30 years in Human Resources. We have two adult married children and four grandchildren. We love Cape Cod and after being weekend warriors for many years, we made Cape Cod our primary residence in 2020.
Why they chose this property
Our home is very well appointed having most every amenity you might want. The kitchen is chock full of cooking and serving amenities. Both bathrooms and the kitchen have been remodeled with granite and stone countertops, tile floors, and new appliances. The screened porch is awesome! The grounds are full with flowers and bushes and very private.
Eastham is an amazing vacation location surrounded by water. It's only 3 miles wide bordered by bay beaches on one side and the Cape Cod national sea shore beaches on the other. Fort Hill, the beautiful scenic and historic walking trail managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore.is very close to to our home. A visit to Fort Hill is a must see. And if you like to kayak, Eastham is the place to be.
