Perfectly located on the corner of East York and Houston Streets directly on Greene square in one of the oldest areas of the Landmark District, this charming, Circa 1807 vacation rental will excite the history buffs with its trademark, “Gingerbread” style architecture dating back to the post Civil-War era with hand-carved, wood details and latticework.

The large front porch has amazing views of Greene Square and many historic buildings in the area. Enter the front foyer and take note of the comfy window nook where you can curl up with a favorite book. Once inside, guests will feel right at home in the comfortable surroundings of the living & dining rooms, complete with decorative fireplaces and unique accents.

The home’s kitchen is spacious and bright with updated appliances & cooking supplies to provide the perfect environment for preparing delicious meals during your Savannah stay. Step outside the back door of the kitchen into the intimate, outdoor courtyard and sip on a fresh cup of coffee while reading a copy of the award-winning South magazine and breathe in the smell of a wall of blooming jasmine.

We spent a week in Savannah, the house was excellent. I really like the front porch. We spent our mornings out there having some coffee. The house is with walking distance to downtown, and all the sites.The house furnishings were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you need. Bathrooms were well supplied. It is a very cute house. We had a great time, and would rent it again.

Meeting Savannah

This was our first time visiting Savannah and we couldn’t have found a better place to stay. Greene Square is lovely. Part of the selling point of the property for us was the back yard area, but we spent all of our outdoor time on the front porch. Plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance - be sure to get the crab cakes at 1790 (we had them twice). The guys were thrilled to stumble on the military museum around the corner which we probably wouldn’t have found if we had stayed in another part of town. Parking was easy. Victor was quick to respond and super helpful and accommodating in every way. We loved Savannah and loved this house and will definitely stay again!

Just what we needed!

My husband and I spent a few days in Savannah to visit with our youngest child. This adorable old cottage was so welcoming. We enjoyed feeing at home and relaxing as we watched a whole different world go by from the big beautiful windows. The neighborhood is gorgeous. The location is wonderful, an easy walk to enjoy food and shopping on Broughton and River St. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again and again!

**5 Stars – A Perfect Stay in Savannah!**We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this quaint, old-world-charmed home in Savannah! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how *spotlessly clean* everything was — we wore white socks and they were never dirty. Every room was well-maintained and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout that made our stay extra comfortable.The home was filled with *every amenity we could have asked for* — a fully stocked kitchen, plush towels, comfortable beds, fast WiFi, smart TVs, and even small extras like board games and local guidebooks, popcorn and even hot cocoa for the kiddos. You can tell the owners have put a lot of care into making sure guests feel right at home.Speaking of the owners, they were *absolutely amazing* — warm, responsive, and genuinely committed to making sure our stay was perfect. They offered great local tips and were always just a quick message away if we had any questions.We can’t recommend this place enough — it was the perfect home base for exploring beautiful Savannah, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Sweet home!

We enjoyed our stay here. It’s nice not to have a big mgt company managing the property. I have stayed at others like that in Savannah and the difference shows. This house is clean and it’s easy … VERY easy …to get in touch with the owner. Parking is available on the street all the time which is nice. Book it!!!

Sister Getaway in Savannah!!

One of my sisters and I had a brief but packed visit to beautiful Savannah! We both loved the house, the location and the spectacular care the homeowners provided us in accommodating our delayed arrival/departure ans navigating the superb food scene in town! Our faces lit up like kids on Christmas when we first heard the horse-drawn carts as they passed by the house! The house was impeccably clean and comfortable and exuded true southern charm! Fabulous time in Savannah

It was an antique cottage which had been restored while maintaining its character. Spacious living room, dining room and master bedroom. Located in the historic district and within walking distance to downtown, River Street and Forsyth Park. Short walk to 17Hundred90, which served as our neighborhood hangout. Friendly neighbors made us feel welcome. Host, Victor, was very accommodating. We hope to return.

My wife and I spent our wedding anniversary at this lovely cottage and what a great decision it was. If you can believe it, the house is even more charming than the pictures. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the porch and evenings having a pre-dinner drink there as well. The interior is spacious, clean and very comfortable. I didn't take any pictures inside, but rest assured, the photos in the listing are very accurate. And the location is great. You're right on a very peaceful square and literally a 15-20 minute walk from anywhere you want to go in the historic district and downtown. We walked almost everywhere and really got to see all this beautiful city has to offer. But perhaps the best part of the home is the owners. Leading up to our stay, anytime I had a question I got an answer within minutes. And during the stay it was the same. We couldn't find a lighter in the house to light a candle on the porch at night. I told them it wasn't a big deal, but before you know it, they had dropped one off for us. And we arrived very late at night so they left a lot of lights on and snacks knowing that nothing would be open if we were hungry. Amazing owners, amazing house and an amazing city. if/when we return to Savannah we will definitely stay there and I highly recommend you do too!

Perfect Vacation Cottage

The cottage is perfectly located across from Greene Square. It's a quiet, safe area, but a short walk to anywhere you want to go. Every evening before dinner, I enjoyed a glass of wine on the front porch. It's fun to sit outside and watch the horse drawn carriages clopping along. The cottage is clean, comfortable and roomy. Tastefully furnished, with plenty of soft towels. Beds were comfortable. The host was quick to respond when I had a question. Parking directly in front of the cottage was always available. Everything about this rental was wonderful! It is an adorable gingerbread cottage circa 1880 but modernized including laundry and dishwasher. Communicating with Victor could not have been easier. He is very responsive and helpful with restaurant recommendations that were spot on. The house is perfectly situated in the historic district facing one of the squares and within walking distance of so much. Trolley tours and carriage horse tours pass by daily. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare and enjoy any meal at home. You even have your choice of coffee maker, Mr Coffee or Keurig. We fell in love with Savannah and would not hesitate to come back to this rental next time we find ourselves headed back to the beautiful hostess city.

This place is a gem! Perfect location in Savannah with great proximity to the waterfront and everything else you want to see and do in Savannah. Right on a corner of Greene Square with a lovely view and perfect front porch for an afternoon of wine and snacks! The owners could not have done more to make this a great stay. They communicated regularly and provided all information we needed and they ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy the "Gingerbread Cottage". We would definitely stay again!

A Delightful House & Perfect Location!

We absolutely adored The Gingerbread House! It was a wonderful blend of a historic home coupled with all the comforts you come to expect. The hosts have thought of everything in this beautifully decorated property! We loved sitting on the front patio enjoying wine and looking out onto the lovely and quiet Greene Square. We even were treated to a local bag piper playing in the square on Friday afternoon. If you want the quintessential Savannah experience, this is the place for you! The location was perfectly situated to everything - we parked the car out front the night we arrived and didn’t use it till we went home Sunday. It was a delightful stay and we look forward to renting again next to time we’re in Savannah!

Savannah New Years stay

The cottage is so charming and the location excellent. From your front porch you look out onto a beautiful square. It is very walkable to many places. Victor is a great landlord. He is extremely helpful with information about Savannah. He even brought a bicycle for my son to use. I highly recommend. I look forward to returning.
