Family adventure, romantic getaway, or relaxing break? At Bear Branch, you can do it all…thrill or chill! Located on a large wooded lot with amazing views and conveniently located off the Beech Mtn Parkway. In summer, hike the local trails, golf, visit wineries, ride a zip line or alpine coaster, or visit a local festival/concert. Winter turns the mtn into a wonderland with skiing/sledding and a hot tub or cozy fire to help stay warm. We invite you to our mtn paradise to reconnect and recharge!
Our mountain cabin boasts a unique layout. All bedrooms are located on the lower level along with two full bathrooms. The upper level is a great open room including fireplace, living/dining, kitchen space with bar, and a 1/2 bathroom. The two levels are connected by a charming spiral staircase. A tree stands tall in the center of the great room and the views are magnificent all the way around. Firewood for the stone fireplace is provided outside as you go upstairs to enter the property. We provide a starter kit of supplies for the kitchen and bathroom (see Welcome Guide for details). Two levels of decking offer vistas of the mountains and wooded areas surrounding our home.
Downstairs includes 4 bedrooms with 2 on each side of the hallway. Two bedrooms have queen beds, one has bunkbed with a twin over queen bed (intended for children with 100lb weight limit or can put the mattress on the floor if needed), and an option for a queen floor mattress (pull-out couch is broken and queen bed will be replacing it in mid-Oct). The 2 newly remodeled full bathrooms are found on each end of the hallway. One has an updated to walk-in shower (Sept 2024) and the other has a bathtub (April 2025). The hot tub is located on the lower deck with easy access from the bedroom.

There is ongoing construction at the property next door. Most of the outdoor work is complete (due to be finished in late Oct), but guests may experience some noise during weekdays from 8am-4pm including sounds from equipment and construction activity. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as the work is temporary and beyond our control.*
-While we are located only 4 tenths of a mile from the ski resort, we are not technically a ski in/out as this route is not conducive to walking. It can be very busy with lots of curves, snow banks, and does not have sidewalks. One option is to walk our side road up a slight incline (10 min) and you can get to the new beginner slope (Carolina Caribbean). We provide directions if you wish to walk.

-The spiral staircase that connects the upper and lower level on the interior may be a bit tricky for small children, those with mobility issues, or pets. But there is easy access to both levels via the exterior stairs.
-We welcome your dog (as we know ours are members of the family) but please limit to one or two dogs weighing no more than 120 lbs altogether (unless given approval). Exceptions may apply for known aggressive/restricted breeds. A non-refundable pet fee applies. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when outside of the home. No cats or other animals allowed. To add one or two pets to the reservation, please select "I am traveling with pets" under "Travelers" when booking and the pet fee is automatically added to the host fees.
-Guests will have access to the entire property with the exception of locked owners closets. There is a security camera on the front of the home facing the parking area. It is for security and to add motion activated lighting to the entrance of the home. It in no way views any areas of the home guests would be using.
