My wife and I enjoyed another getaway weekend in this wonderful cottage. Can’t wait to visit South Haven again.

Nice house but dirty
If this house was properly cleaned it would have been really cool. We felt like we needed to wear shoes the whole time, and found random things from previous tenants. For the price this place should be spotless. Other than cleanliness it’s a sweet home and location is pretty close to everything.
We absolutely loved our stay here! The home was very cozy and loved the interior decor. It was literally a 2 minute walk down to the beach and playground. Very nice area of South Haven and we would love to return next summer.
House was nice and clean and location was good if you do not mind walking a little bit. I love to walk so I could walk all over town from the house and never use the care but others who do not like to walk were not as fond of location.
The property is very compact. A couple tripping hazards, from the laundry room into the kitchen, the dining room into the bathroom. At 23 weeks pregnant, I wasn’t happy to trip when I walked into the kitchen from the laundry room on first arrival. The furniture isn’t cozy, except for the couch that I didn’t sit on because I let the kids instead. I didn’t think 1300 square feet would be too small, bc we’ve lived in a 1400 square foot house before, but because of how it’s set up, it’s just a bit too small for our family.
Lights going up the stairs would’ve been nice because it’s dark, steep, and narrow with a sharp narrow turn. You walk out of a room and it’s already a step down the stairs.
The beds were comfortable, we didn’t have issues sleeping. The kitchen is well stocked and actually very spacious. The dining space was also spacious as well as the master bedroom. We did like the neighborhood, it was very quiet and clean, Good upkeep from the surrounding properties. It was an easy walk to Kids Corner playground area and the Lake.
Absolutely the best decorating I have seen in a rental so far with all the coziness as photos show! The walk into town was shorter than we expected based on the map and two blocks from Lake Michigan sunsets can’t be beat! Would definitely stay again! Just to note since I read it in other reviews, the master bed is like a marshmallow of cloudy comfort so you will definitely not find a firm bed there. But other than that we loved our stay!
The house is just as advertised and pictured. So clean and beautifully decorated. Loved how close it was to the lake. Perfect for my me and my husband. We were pre season and loved the small crowd on Mother’s Day weekend.
My wife and I stayed here for a short getaway. The home was a wonderful place to relax. Just a short walk to the beach or to town for food and shopping. We had a great time in this cozy home.
Great location. Ideal for a couple, some families.
This is a fantastic location. The house was clean and exactly as described.
I would recommend a max of 2 adults. The upstairs is small with an attic feel, the stairs are old and very narrow, minimal outlets, and the the bunk bed room is stuffy, even with the window AC on in the attached queen. You need to walk through the bunk bed room with a squeaky door to get out. However it can certainly work for some children depending on ages/needs.
Can't beat the location to the beach, bike/walk trail, and playground and close walk to town.
My husband and I really enjoyed this beautifully renovated, historic home that is two blocks off the beach and a short walk to all that South Haven has to offer. Our host was wonderfully communicative - checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. A very lovely stay and would highly recommend this property.
Easy walk to town and beach. Minor problem was resolved promptly after contacting the owner.
Such a cute house and it had everything for a fun day at the beach. A very comfortable place for our family to spend time together.
Very cute house with master bedroom on first floor and 2 bedrooms on 2nd. Decorated like cape cod cottage. Very clean and location to the beach was a 10 minute walk
This was a lovely cottage that made for the perfect getaway for my husband and I. There's room for additional guests but we didn't use the upstairs at all. We loved the location, just a short walk to the beach for the most amazing sunsets. Being in town right before the busy season was perfect, most places were open, it wasn't crowded and it was easy to find parking. We really enjoyed that the house came with bikes, we rode all over town, including over to North Beach. We would definitely stay here again.
Our stay in this charming little cottage was wonderful! It was only the two of us so we didn't use the upstairs rooms, but there were two rooms upstairs, one with queen bed, and the other with a set of bunk beds. Both upstairs rooms were on the small side, but you're probably not renting this home to spend all your time in the bedrooms.
The main bedroom on the first floor is SPACIOUS! The photos on the listing don't do the space of this room justice. There is an electric fireplace in the corner of the sitting area of the main bedroom and a comfy king bed on the other end. There is also a large TV in the main level room if you don't want to watch in the living room.
The kitchen was nicely sized and has every modern convenience you could want.
The dining room table seats six comfortably.
The living room/sitting room was nice, and as long as you pull the TV out away from the wall on its bracket you can watch from the comfort of the sofa.
Lastly, the bathroom (of which there was only one) was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
Overall, we loved the size and location of the cottage. The decorating touches were perfect and my wife and I commented several times on how much we enjoyed the overall aesthetic of the home. The exposed ceiling beams and some of the more "rustic" design features might not be to everyone's liking, but we found it to be a balanced mix of modern and old school.
The lakeshore was only a short, two-block walk away, and downtown South Haven was only a 3 minute drive away. This cottage was smack in the middle of everything we wanted to experience in South Haven.

Our cottage is a wonderful home away from home. We purchased Monroe Street Cottage so we could spend summers back with family in our beautiful Native State. A wonderful way to create memories for our children. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
