This charming, oceanfront home boasts spectacular views of Maquoit Bay from the moment you open the door! Nestled among beautiful gardens on a large, private lot, you can relax out on the new deck and enjoy the view of the islands. Beautiful stone landscaping and gardens will surround you with vibrant flowers as you breathe in the salt air. Prepare full meals in the beautiful cherry kitchen with granite countertops, and entertain in the daylight basement featuring a wet bar. There is also a pull-out couch in the master bedroom area.


The home is located in a secluded area right on the water, but nearby you can find outlet shopping and an LL Bean. Experience many outdoor activities in the surrounding area including hiking, cycling, and boating.

Location is awesome!

We loved the location. The neighborhood was quiet and people very friendly. The house overall needed help especially with the musty odor on the lower floor. The layout is conducive to having little kids play on the rocks. Wishes it was cleaner and the team was more responsive to our needs.

Quiet & beautiful getaway!

This house was great. It was far enough away from town to escape the people, but close enough to run back for the groceries we forgot. The property exceded our expecations, the pictures did not do it justice. For our family it was perfect, the teens had some privacy in the basement, and my husband and I had a beautiful suite with a very comfortable bed. It is right on the water, so we enjoyed watching the tide go in and out. We will definatley return.

Not a house you want to rent

This house is very nice upstairs and we thoroughly enjoyed our first day there. However the upper part has only one bedroom. Our daughter and two children slept downstairs. There was a definite musty odor as others had reported and we learned why. My daughter heard critters in the walls the first night. Then we had a hard rain and the water began to seep up into the carpet and puddle on tiles. When we saw the mouse run by we knew it was time to leave. It took hours of phone calls and photos to make our case but we were finally transferred to another home and finished our vacation. This house should not be a VRBO rental at this time. Perhaps with some attention and work it would be a lovely place to stay.

Not worth the price for this home

Let's start with the positive. The best part of this house was the view. The location can't be beat if you want a retreat on the water. But there are a few big red flags that would keep us from ever returning. First, the house was not cleaned thoroughly before we arrived. Used tissues and cups under the bed, sheets that hadn't been changed (full of hair), dead bees and flies on the windows. The lower level was also a very important aspect of this listing as it is where the full and twin beds are, as well as a full bathroom and pull out sofa. The lower level was a basement and it smelt and felt as such; it was damp and moist and not pleasant. There were what looked to be drain flies abound; the house is on the water so there are going to be some bugs, but this place could have been much better taken care of. A dehumidifier in the basement might help. There was only one hand towel available in the lower level bathroom and no hand or paper towels available in the half bath. The kitchen was very clean and well stocked, which was refreshing. Overall, this house has such potential were it better maintained. Great views, in a great neighborhood for scenic walks and recreation. Unfortunately, the deck furniture was lacking. Would recommend they get some sort of table on the deck (also be careful as the side table they have is broken - the glass top is not attached). Hope Vacasa will give this place some TLC so it will be worth what they are asking for it.

Nice house. Cleanliness can be improved.

Magnificent view. Good floor plan. Trash had not been taken out before our arrival. Bath rugs needed washing. Maintenance was sent out within the hour. WiFi is not very strong. Kitchen is well stocked. Otherwise we were very happy with the property.

Beautiful water front view: dirty property!

There were a few problems with this property! First of all the housekeeping staff should be fired. The property is very dirty. There are dead bugs and spiders complete with cob webs on the window sills and in the floor corners. It rained while we were there and the dining room ceiling leaked, thank goodness for a pail from the laundry room. The bed pillows are very old and stained. There is a white comforter in the lower level that has a very large blood spot on it. There are mud stains on the carpeting in the master bedroom and the balance of that carpeting really needs to be steam cleaned. We washed the master bathroom rugs as they were stained with the same mud from the master bedroom. Over all the housekeeping was awful! It look as if the place wasn't cleaned well after many visitors. Never again for that place!

Peaceful Waterfront Getaway

We chose to rent this house for a short honeymoon. Great decision for complete relaxation and tranquility. Hardly any cars even pass the house, and the water in the bay is so calm. Just sit and watch the tide go in and out all day. The house has two giant picture windows- in the living room and bedroom (lay in bed and watch the sun rise)- as well as the sliding glass doors off the kitchen so you truly just want to look outside all day. The bathroom has a cool walk-in shower. We cooked steaks and pasta in the kitchen. Really a perfect house if you want peace and quiet but still be able to go into the city (either Freeport or Portlant) during the day.
