About this property
Alicia Villa near the sea. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathroom. Up to 6 people sleep.
'Villa Alicia' is located in a beautiful spot about 10 minutes walk from the small fishing village Stintino. Stintino is situated on the north-west coast of Sardinia, 30 minutes car ride from Alghero's International Airport. There are several nearby beaches, including the famous La Pelosa beach, Which is only 5 minutes away with car.
Excellent shopping including supermarkets, a pharmacy and a variety of boutiques are all Within walking distance.
The closest international airport is Alghero (AHO) with daily scheduled direct flights from London (Stansted / Ryanair), Frankfurt, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Venice and Pisa. There are direct flights from anche Stockholm, Skavsta (Ryanair) and Arlanda (Fritidsresor) airports.
The origins of Stintino date back to 1885 and a settlement of 45 families, prevalently tied down to fishing who came from Asinara Island. Previously, the territory was populated by the distinct shepherds' settlements who used to live in natural shelters.
The village Became an autonomous municipality the 10th of August, 1988. The first elections and the appointment of the town council Took place in March 1989.
The village is developed inside two inlets where small harbors are situated. They are side by side, the old port called 'Minor' (small) and a new port called 'Mannu' (big).
Many events and entertainment are Organised for tourists and residents During the summer season. Among the important annual festivals is a boat race at the end of August called 'Sailing Regatta Latin'. We also recommend visiting the museum Tonnara at the new port.
The most famous beach is called 'The Hairy' but there are others, equally as nice, like 'Salt', 'Puzzona' and 'Ezzi Mannu'. 'Hairy' beach is Certainly one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. Its water is so delightful; it's difficult to find another place like it in Italy. Its turquoise color, transparency and the finest white sand render 'Hairy' beach blackberries similar to tropical places rather than Mediterranean ones. Apart from the lack of tropical fish, in Particular type of vegetation makes you remember That you are in Sardinia: the Mediterranean underbrush, present even on the beach.
The most important events handed down from Stintino's cultural tradition are: rural feast of St. Isidore in May, Tuna Fest (Sagra del Tonno) in June, Latin Sail Boat Race (Regata della Vela Latina) the last week of August, the feast of the Blessed Virgin of Didesa in September and the feast of St. Nicholas at the end of September.
This splendid locality offers Numerous occasions for entertainment, Both of sporting character (sailing, windsurfing, golfing, tennis, hiking, horse riding, etc.) and of a cultural nature (music concerts, exhibitions, museums, etc.).
