Room For All - Hilltop View Cottage

This remodeled Hilltop View Cottage is just 1 block up a slight hill from Higgins Lake with beautiful views. Located in the sought after Sam-O-Set area, with its own small public beach/playground and neighborhood boat launch just a short walk away. GoodTimes party store is just across the street and the Landmark restaurant is a quick walk as well. Reach both the North & South Higgins Lake State Parks, ice cream shops & wonderful playgrounds in a quick trip.

This 4 bedroom cottage is separated by a nice large breezeway with a table and lots of room for all of your beach toys & coolers. Each side of the cottage has its own queen bedroom, twin bunk room & cozy living area with a Roku TV. The separate spaces are great for work/study, privacy or just letting part of your group relax or go to bed before everyone else is ready.

Extra clean and charming with new decks out front and in the fenced-in backyard.
Enjoy the fast Wi-fi, charcoal grill, picnic table & fire pit with lots of chairs for enjoying the outdoors. It also comes with 2 kayaks & a cart. The property has lots of parking for your guests & can accommodate a trailer. Our Lakeview cottage is a perfect spot for enjoying everything Higgins Lake has to offer.
Pets are welcome with approval & fee.
Must be 25 years old to make a reservation.
(June 21 - Mid Aug. this cottage rents from Sun. to Sun.)

Our Hilltop View Cottage is next door to our "Post Office Cottage". Perfect if you travel with larger groups that you would enjoy having close by.

Very nice rental

Rental exactly as described and pictured. Can see the lake from the front porch- 1 block walk to the water. Great set up for 2 small families to keep one side quite. Would stay again and recommend to book!

Great cabin; feels like a home

This property and its owners are top notch. Getting in was really easy and Michelle was very accommodating. You can see Higgins lake down the road and Sam O’Set park is only a 10 min walk. This property is clean and has all of the necessary amenities. Very very comfortable beds! Especially compared to some of the other homes. Recommend 10/10!

Perfect up north getaway location. Walking distance to Higgins Lake. Pet friendly. Clean. Two separate spaces for multiple families but only one small bathroom. Great place to stay for the Firemen’s memorial in September or any time.

Can’t say enough great things about this rental! It was CLEAN, spacious, fully furnished with everything you could need or want on vacation. And the host/owner was very accommodating and easy to reach if we had questions. We were visiting extended family that had a cottage down the street and so we needed a place to lay our heads at night. This place was perfect for that. We will definitely be renting again in the future!

Wonderful experience at Higgins Lake!

Everything at our VRBO was perfect. We loved the center screened-in breezeway with bistro lighting to sit at the table and play cards and games. Even though our weather didn't cooperate, the home provided a cozy sanctuary for our family time and we enjoyed our stay so much! It was clean, updated, great location (the party store and the lake was just a short walk) and had plenty of room for us and our adult kids. Highly recommend!

Beautiful property right bye the water.

Owners were wonderful and have everything at this beautiful property. It’s right next door to a great party store, a short walk to the water and has a great big yard for kids to play and run around in. Bon fire pit, bbq grill and the inside is wonderful.

Winter getaway - much needed fun in the sun!

My family needed to get away from home- we’ve all been working/schooling from home and needed a break from the same old daily view. Winter is tougher, because it’s cold out and we feel like it’s Groundhog Day every day. The cabin and trip were just what we needed- and we were able to bring our dog too. We went to a local store that had plenty of good things to bring back and cook. The can in was well stocked with dishes and some basic cooking essentials- oil, salt and pepper, etc. There was a Keurig too, which was a nice touch. The owner checked in and offered some suggestions of places to go- she was great. Also, she was able to accommodate our request for late checkout, which enabled us to go snowshoeing before packing up everything. Great time.

Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I were looking for a pet friendly rental near my sister's house on Higgins Lake. This property was a perfect fit as the non-carpeted side is pet friendly and is just a small walk from the lake. The fenced in backyard was really nice for relaxing outside with our dogs. There is a dog friendly beach in Higgins Lake State Park and a Dog Park (Markey Dog Park, I think) that isn't too far away. Michelle was easy to reach and always in communication with me leading up to our stay. We would love to come back!

Great cottage for size

we had 5 people 4 adults and 1 kid. Was great to split on 2 sides. Everything was awesome. Only thing we missed from we rented other vacation places was washer and dryer and 2nd bathroom. But we knew ahead of time there wasn't. That would be only thing that would have made it perfect

Just as promised

This was a vacation that met all the expectations plus more. The house was clean, cozy but spacious enough for our crew to spread out when the weather kept us in, and had everything we needed: comfortable beds, private yard, outdoor seating, nice fire pit, short walk to the water, a place to moor during the day and night, a beach close by within walking distance even for our little ones. The only things I wish we could have had would be to have a spot right on the water and to have night mooring right there as well. We knew ahead of time that these things were the case so it wasn’t a surprise and the owners went above and beyond to get us acquainted with the lake and where we would moor and where the kids could play at a beach. We would definitely return to this cottage. Thank you again to the owners for everything!

You must visit!

Glen and Michelle have kept the authentic cabin feel to this cottage, while giving it modern updates. The cottage is inviting and comfortable. We were able to personally meet Michelle, who was renovating a "new to them" property. The owners are very concerned about providing the best to their guests. The cottage was exactly as listed and stocked to meet our family's every need. We highly recommened staying in one of their properties.

Great vacation spot!!!

So this review is from the perspective of 3 huntress...,, house was clean, furniture was comfortable, nice fenced in backyard, screened in breeze way with a picnic table. We came in late October for a hunting trip, but for a family work with children or a 2-3 couple trip this would be a great place to come. You can see the lake from the front door, screened in porch would be great in the summer and the fact that two bedroom are separated from the other two by the breezeway gives your privacy from other members of the trip of the kiddos. Definitely will stay here again, Michelle was awesome we had a minor issue and she took care of it promptly and made sure we had everything we needed.
