We were staying to work on a nearby new home and a storm knocked the power to the new home. The owner of this rental worked with us to move our stay without any penalties. I will stay here anytime im in town.
This is a perfect property for a short or extended stay. It's in a great location next to ski trails. The house is spotless and well-equipped with all kitchen utensils, plates, cups, etc.Excellent communication with Bill, the property manager. All our emails and questions were answered as without any delays. We will not hesitate to rent this place for our future trips.
This property is in a beautiful location right on the AuSable River. The house provided us with things to do with one of the rainy days we had. This is not the first time we stayed here, and it won't be the last.
Our favorite house to stay at when we are visiting Roscommon Michigan. Roscommon is such a cute little town with lots of friendly people. Bill the owner was very nice, and the check in was a easy process. The house was very clean, no complaints! Everything was so beautiful and relaxing. Watching the Roscommon Fourth of July fireworks on the deck is a must! Highly recommend this house to anyone that is looking for a nice place to stay.
My family and I just stayed here for a week in June. It's the second time we've rented this home and most likely won't be the last. It's perfect for a larger group (we had six and a dog). The pictures on the site are accurate. Spacious kitchen and a brand new gas stove made cooking very enjoyable. Super close to a market and gas station and a few restaurants, all walkable. Kayak livery right at the end of the street, which unfortunately, we were not able to utilize as we had a number of rainy days. Highly recommend this place!
This property has a beautiful view of the river. The house was comfortable and we did use the kitchen for every meal which was stocked with all the tools we needed. This home has a lot of strange sounds at night which we thought it might be the heaters. Overall a very nice home.
cozy big house right down the street from ski trail
We chose this house for its big fireplace, river views, and proximity to cross country ski trails, and all those were great! We had no snow, however, so we just did some train running and hiking instead and would love to return when there is some snow. The fireplace is double-facing and really big -- plenty of wood. We loved watching the ducks swim around in the river while sipping our coffee. The heating system in the house is very warm. We enjoyed the place very much.
We had a wonderful time! October in the upper lower peninsula of Michigan is the best! We enjoyed everything about the Roscommon property- the house, the location, the views. Bill was a very gracious host and very attentive and easy to ask questions and get answers!
We loved the house and views! Close to downtown Roscommon which made it convenient for dinner and quick trips! Easy check in/out. House was very clean and comfortable! Will definitely be booking here next year!
We enjoyed our visit to Roscommon. The home is well maintained and lovely with plenty of room for 5 adults. Our only concern was that no iron was found but a broken ironing board was in the garage but we survived! The area is beautiful!
This is our second time renting this house, first in the summer. It was a great time with close access to canoeing and town in case you forget anything. Plus, it’s nice having the river right there to cool off in. It’s very shallow but our three year old daughter loved being able to run around in it
We enjoyed our stay. The pool table was a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed that. Spent a day at Mackinac Island. Hanging out at the fire pit got rained out. Loved the big kitchen where everyone could hang out and talk. Saw deer crossing river. Close to town but secluded.
We had a terrific time in Roscommon. The home is in a great location and close to everything we wanted to do. We only had one rainy day and loved that we could play pool and games, or even separate to our rooms for down time.
Had to call owner once about a small problem and he was on it very quickly.
Enjoyed the fire-pit, the river view, horseshoes, close access to Campbell's canoe and kayak livery. We could walk from the home to the Tisdale Triangle Trail head as it is right at the end of Esther Ct.
Short drive to the Marguerite Gahagan Nature Preserve and close enough to 1-75 that a trip to Hartwick Pines was an easy drive.
I also loved that there were three bathrooms each with its own shower!
This local would be great for a friend's retreat or family reunion.
Perfect spot on the South Branch of Au Sable River
If you are looking for a clean, beautiful home in the Roscommon area, this is it! We had 6 adults, a 7 year old and two dogs and the home, river front and location were perfect. It is very private. Great swimming, playing in river, fishing for husband in area and petting zoo was great and so close by. We really wished we had booked it for a couple days longer! Thank you!
This home was really comfortable, clean, true to the photos and close to kayaking and hiking. Being able to bring two dogs was the best. My dog enjoyed the river and had a great time. My family and I had a wonderful vacation and plan on returning next year. It has everything you need and super close to a grocery store which alleviated bringing up a lot of food
We had a lovely stay. Sitting out on the patio and looking over the river was very peaceful. Despite having neighbors on all sides, it felt very secluded and was quiet. The view of the fireworks over the river on the 4th was an added treat! The home had everything we could need to make our stay comfortable.
Im a life long resident of Roscommon. I grew up on this river and love all it has to offer. We fish, canoe and swim in the summer and ski in the winter. Roscommon is home.
What makes this property unique
This house is cool because it is close to town but may as well be a million miles away. There are no canoe liveries upstream so there is no canoe traffic. it is totally peaceful. The trail head for the ski trail is a short walk down the road. The open floor plan with a fireplace in the middle makes for the tops in relaxation.
