Higgins Lake - Relax, Swim, Ride, Boat, Fish!!!

This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath family house is located approx. 6 houses from beautiful higgins lake.

Right around corner from the silver dollar bar

You have access to a long association dock to enjoy (pictures). There is a large living room great for entertaining with sliding glass doors to the side patio, firepit, side and backyard. The kitchen is also very large and a joy to cook in. You will have all the supplies you need. A deck out front makes for a excellent place for a cup of coffee or a night time cocktail. This is a perfect area for any water activities, walking, golf, snowmobiling, biking and just relaxing. There are 6+ golf courses in the area in addition to a small par 3 course in Houghton Lake. Also, there are miles and miles of snowmobile trails to enjoy! Grayling is only a 10 minute drive away, which is home to the beautiful AuSable River and plenty of activities including great food, fishing and canoeing. There are plenty of yard games in garage and a grill to use. Additionally, plenty of room in garage to store your toys you bring with you. You will love our cabin, just as much as we do!

Weekly rentals are required in June, July and August

We loved our stay, this is not a cabin but a home from the moment that you pull up in the drive way. The home is updated and has everything needed for a stay. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the camp fire at night. Neighbors were very nice, it was quiet until the weekenders came in on Friday, still not bad.

Very nice, close to what we needed, very well stocked with anything you need and with some little things you might forget. Very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of room for 6 and if it rains there were plenty of board games to choose from. Craig and Craig and Rebecca were quick to answer the few ?s we had. We are already planning another long weekend there

Charming cabin near the lake

We stayed here for a wedding up north so we didn't get to get the full lake experience but it was a lovely, clean place that was decorated super adorable. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Hidden Gem on Higgins Lake

We loved this home. Very neat and clean, nicely decorated and had everything one needs for an enjoyable vacation. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Host was always quick to reply to our inquiries.

Lots of Space to Relax

This home was very spacious and had everything we needed for a week away with friends. There is a nice long dock where you can float and swim just a five minute walk from the house as well. Very clean and comfortable stay.

Great Stay

The property was perfect for our vacation. The house was very clean and super cute. The outdoor space had a great layout and was so well maintained we had a hard time finding little sticks for kindling for the fire. Couldn’t have been any better of an experience.

Great stay

There was 7 to 8 of us, ladies and the house accommodated us very well. It was great having Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. A nice patio outside and a fire pit. Owners were wonderful to work with. Highly recommend this place and six houses away from Higgins Lake.

Overall, a cute cabin for a family getaway! We really enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen (items and tools you could actually use!) and the space for our family to spread out (plenty of beds, 2 full bathrooms, multiple dining areas). The main attraction was access to the association pier on beautiful Higgins Lake, even if it was a bit more of a walk than initially expected. We loved wading, swimming, kayaking, and playing with our dog in the shallow, clear waters, and walking on a sandy bottom with minimal weeds. Our only complaints were 1) an unsupportive/sinking mattress, which the owners have told us they've already purchased a replacement, and 2) touchy water temps from sinks and showers. The owners were responsive and kind. We recommend the stay and would return!

We absolutely loved our stay at Craig and Rebecca’s place. The house is lovely and spacious in a great way. It was the perfect down space between days at the lake. We’re already talking about booking a longer stay here next summer.

Great place for a little family get away. We were disappointed that the dock was not in for the season. It would have been nice to know at the beginning of the renting process, but other than that we enjoyed our stay. We will book again.

Great vacation of just relaxing

We all had a great time relaxing and enjoying the rental and our stay near Higgins Lake. We visited the park, the zoo and enjoyed all things 'toddler' life includes when experiencing a lake for the first time. :). We hope to be back soon!

Stay 8-12 Sept., 2025, beautiful weather, quiet area, just a short walk from the lake which was so clear and calm as other times when we visited. The cottage had a nice fire pit with chairs surrounding it where we enjoyed the beauty of nature with red-headed woodpeckers, blue jays, squirrels, and the changing colors of the maples. The interior of the cottage opened to a large welcoming kitchen and dining area with a roomy bedroom off to the right with a twin bed and a bunk bed with a twin on top and double on the bottom. The beds were sturdy designed log beds. Next just to the right of the dining room was the master bedroom with a king size bed and the ensuite to the 1st bathroom was spacious with a tub/shower and unique decor of shells cut in half (so awesome). The third bedroom had a queen size bed that just fit. The decor throughout the cottage was of lake/nautical style and log cabin style as well, so comfortable. The living room was wonderful with a game table, log coffee table, tv, couch, and easy chairs a plenty with a patio door to the fire pit/patio area. Finally there was a laundry room with a second bathroom with a shower. All this wonderful space and pet friendly! Who can ask for more?!

So comfortable and clean!

The home was very clean and welcoming. Everything needed to make meals for my family. The lake is absolutely beautiful, so clear and warm. Perfect for my 18 month old granddaughter. It is shallow for a very long way. Just perfect for our family getaway. Craig was very responsive as well.

The Lake House was very spacious, cozy & inviting.

The owners Craig and Rebecca did an amazing job decorating the Lake House with very cute, cozy, furnishings, pillows, and great signs and sayings. They had everything that you could think of it to make you stay pleasant. We were able to do many things that were fun for us and the young kids that were not far to travel to. We went to the dock and small beach nearby, North Higgins Lake State Park, South Higgins State Park, Hartwick Pines, and nearby Parks with Slides, swings, and other fun things. We even went mini golfing and Go-carting with the boys in Houghton Lake. Only thing was it would have been nice if it were closer or right on the Lake itself. But other than that, we loved our stay! We'd like to send a huge thank you to the wonderful owners and their family for sharing their beautiful home. It was a nice touch that they had a beautiful photo of their family. It made us feel as if we knew them and they were dear friends. Thank you so much again.

Beautiful Cottage

This cottage is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need while away from home. The owners respond quickly to questions and are very nice folks to work with. It’s a short walk to the dock which is on a lovely stretch of the lake. Sandy and shallow for a long ways out. Tons of room for the family to spread out inside and out. Super nice patio and fire ring. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and hope to be back soon!
