About this property

Private luxury custom Lodge with the best view of Lake Shasta and Shasta Caverns

LodgeView has been12 years running with over 237 5 star reviews. Come stay at our lodge! It is reminiscent of an Old Bavarian Hunting Lodge similar to Wyntoon on the Mc Cloud River. Come out for the best views, sleep and peace you'll get in your life. It is so quite you could hear only a pin drop! This lodge is beautifully maintained.
All the parking you'll need for multiple watercraft at the lodge for fishing tournaments.

Come experience a one of a kind get away surrounded by all the natural beauty and privacy that Lake Shasta has to offer. Like Lake Tahoe 85 years ago! The views of the Lower Castle Crags Mountains and the Limestone formations of the Shasta Caverns are equal to the Swiss Alps!

If you are planning a fishing adventure of a memorable lifetime experience, then we highly recommend: Jeff Goodwin's Guide Service for all your fishing needs. He is an excellent professional guide for fishing Lake Shasta and the rivers in our area. As an avid fisherman myself, he is one of the best I have ever met and fished with and a most gracious person! You will not be disappointed in booking with this gentleman. We only ask that you respect "Catch and Release" of the double digit trophy German Brown and Rainbow Trout that you will catch with him. Jeff's phone number is: (707) 616-1905. Please let him know we referred you.

For Fly Fisherman your contact source and one of the best in the entire Northern part of our state is the Fly Shop in Redding. They've been there in their original location with the original owners since 1978 when I went to Shasta College and became knowledgeable and spoiled by the many fly fishing opportunities in this small area of the world!
Whether it's the infamous Hexigenia Mayfly hatch in Fall River or dappling in the Upper Sacramento River or midge fishing the Conservancy Section of the McCloud River Hat Creek or the Upper Pit River, they not only have accurate data about the fly patterns and hatches, but they have some of the best fly fishing guides on staff that will not disappoint! They are open 365 days a year. Their phone number is: (530) 222-3555 theflyshop.com. Please let them know we referred you.

LodgeView features a 700 ft. driveway which is perfect for boat owning lake enthusiasts. We can accommodate up to 6 bass boats and vehicles comfortably for any Bass Tournament when you need a comfortable place of refuge.

We are also located within 45 minutes of some of the Best Alpine and Cross Country Skiing in the World located at Mt. Shasta. Mt. Shasta has it's own climate. Excellent powder conditions... Let me repeat... excellent powder conditions that far surpass most resorts at Lake Tahoe and is a sleeper! Whether you are a snow boarder or skier of any experience, you will not be disappointed. The amount of ski traffic and pricing is similar to what we had in the 1980's and the travel time is the same as going from the Bay Area to smothered Truckee and Lake Tahoe without the crowds! And it is within 40 -45 minutes away from our Lodge traffic free.

30,000 acres of Shasta National Forest surround the home, centrally located minutes from several marinas including Bridge Bay Marina, Holiday Harbor and Packers Bay Marina. The views of the Limestone Mountains of Shasta Caverns and the entire McCloud arm of Lake Shasta are breath taking and one feels that they are in the Swiss Alps. They feel so close and vivid in view, one feels like they could reach their arm across the Lake and touch them with their hand!
There is something to do in any direction, Mt. Lassen, Shasta and Redding to name a few. The 3 S's Shasta Lake, Shasta Dam and Mount Shasta for hiking and snowboarding and skiing. Shasta county is unique in regards to the diversity of activities and things to do compared to most places in the United States.

Great view
Great location if you want to get away from the city. Rooms set up is a little awkward if you dont want to share a room with someone else.

Mountain Paradise
This place was amazing! Expansive and very private views of the lake, the mountains, the stars, and sunrises over the mountains. The house is quite remote, so be sure that is what you’re seeking in an experience. We loved it! Every day I was up before the sun to enjoy the peace and watch the sun rise over the mountains. The house was quite comfortable and everything advertised was there and worked. The host was great. He called before we arrived to provide the codes, general information about the house and the area, and to offer ideas for excursions, grocery, and dining. We would DEFINITELY stay here again, but perhaps for more than 3 nights next time.

Nice place
Great location near I5 yet secluded and private. Plenty of recreational options nearby. The lodge was nice with great lake views, plenty of space and parking. Air conditioning worked great. TV with steaming channels. We had a family of deer visit us each evening to drink water. The only improvement needed is the kitchen floors were not swept and living room needed vacuuming and a few dishes were not cleaned. Everything else was very nice. We would stay here again and I recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Shasta.

What a GREAT house !!
This house was really REALLY incredible. The host is very kind and informative. The view of the lake was endless. The hot tub was nice and clean ready for use. The house is well stocked with everything you need to have a great family vacation. Plenty of room for a couple families. Very close to the marina which was perfect for us , we brought our 24 ft axis which fit well in the gated, drive thru style driveway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to book this house again the next time we visit Lake Shasta . Thank you!!

Honestly of the owner and cleanliness is an issue
Two big reasons I stayed at this location was the jacuzzi and the fireplace. Both were emphasized in pictures and listed as amenities on the listing. To me a cabin without a fireplace and jacuzzi is not a cabin. I could have easily spent a 1/3 and saved an hour drive each way if that was not my priority. A couple days before leaving the owner asked to chat about check-in. Yes he is very detailed, lengthy, and unnecessary as other reviewers have said, but I was ok with it Oh that call he started that there was an issue with a neighbor and a burn pile a couple weeks before and that I could not do any fires as per the fire department. I took him at his word and moved on. Problem #1 - untrustworthy owner As we arrived the first night I messaged him because I wanted to confirm that his no fires asper the fire department did not include the indoor fireplace, he said that it did include the inside fireplace and went on a unnecessary rant about how he told me it before I checked in and "NO FIRES" were allowed. Yes, all caps several times was his mode of communication. He also went on a rant about how he is a Dr and treats all the local firefighters. I knew right of the bat he was lying, bans on outdoor fires are common in the area, but never on an indoor fireplace. I asked him for clarification, but he insisted indoor fires (fireplace) were banned by the fire department. The next morning I called the local fire department, spoke to a firefighter who confirmed there was no burn restrictions for my specific address. I told her the story of the owner and she transferred me to the assistant chief who also confirmed that not only was there no burn restrictions. He also confirmed that they never restrict inside fireplaces. I gave the owner the benefit of the doubt and messaged him several times in the span of over a week with the time and names of who I spoke with giving him a chance to clarify, and he never responded. Simply put, he is a liar. I can understand not wanting renters using a fireplace because of risks, but if that's the case don't list it as an amenity. Problem #2 - usability Missing outdoor cushions making them useless. The main bedroom missing pillow cases. Problem #3 - cleanliness The kitchen drawers were super dirty with droppings in most of them. Fridge still had the blood stains someone complained about over a year ago. A pillow case had blood stains on it. Cobwebs everywhere.
