Beautiful House and Yard, Stunning View, 120' Lakefront, Covered Front Porch
Our large B&B-like house sits on a knoll overlooking Keuka Lake with an extraordinary view, especially at sunset. We have 120 feet of lake front with a large beach with a dock, table, chairs, fire pit and an excellent swimming area.
The house is nearly 2,000 square feet. We added two bathrooms (2.5 total) as well as a laundry room. The well-equipped kitchen has been recently remodeled.
Our house sits above the lake. To get to our lakefront and beach area, you walk down the driveway, cross East Lake Rd. and then walk down a wide path to the lake. East Lake Rd. is an access road, 1.5 miles long. It's a beautiful walking or biking road, with little traffic.
The front of the house is a covered porch with Adirondack chairs and a teak dining table. There is also a covered flagstone patio off the driveway.
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs, including a 225-square-foot main bedroom with new drywall. All three bedrooms have lake views as well as air conditioners. There are queen mattresses in two bedrooms. The third bedroom has a queen and two twin beds. We have two roll-away beds and a full-size, memory foam floor mattress. The den downstairs can be closed off and has a full-size sofa bed. There is a new half bath and separate laundry room on the first floor.
We offer great offseason rates for our 4-season home. We are near numerous wineries, most of which stay open on weekends through the winter. In the spring you can often hear the sound of the creek flowing at the edge of our property. In the fall, the color around the lake is spectacular into early November. In the winter, our house has central heat and a gas-burning fireplace in the den. The view out our new picture windows is fabulous. We are less than an hour from Bristol Mountain Ski Area.
From our covered porch you can enjoy the ever-changing light off the lake. You can walk or bike the access road in front of our house, perhaps hiking up one of canyons into the hills above the lake, to some extraordinary waterfalls. You can walk or bike the trail that connects Keuka and Seneca Lakes. Or fish -- the area near our house is known as one of the best bass fishing areas in the Finger Lakes.

We loved your home on the lake! It was well equipped with what we needed. Upstairs was a bit cold but easier to sleep cool. The dogs had a great time running in the yard. Loved the porch facing the lake. Nice sunsets!
The house was pleasant though dated. Updates to towels and pillows would be helpful and since it is up for sale I suspect the next owners might do the enhancements. We enjoyed the porch especially at this time of the year.
We came up for the weekend for my husband's graduation from Cornell. The house had a great location, beautiful views of the lake, and had all we needed for a nice time away. It was also well located for winery hopping which we did on Sunday.
The front porch overlooking the lake was so relaxing. Thank you for having dog gates we could put up so we could all enjoy the porch! The dogs loved swimming every day at the lake. The kitchen was super well stocked with spices, however it could use a couple new pans that don’t stick.
This house was exactly where we wanted to be. It was quirky, fully loaded with supplies, towels, sheets, paper products, and dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Excellent site, clean home, everything you need provided, couldn't ask for more. Host was a pleasure, responded promptly to my questions and provided a wealth of information about the area. We couldn't have been happier and look forward to staying again next fall.
Awesome property. Loved the location and the view of Keuka Lake. Just wish it was sunny. Found new wineries and a new distillery. Would love to stay here again.
Our house is indeed older: it was one of the first houses built on the East Side of Keuka, perhaps as early as the 1840s. We've tried to update it while maintaining its great history. We've added two bathrooms and a laundry room, remodeled the kitchen, rebuilt the porch, installed new windows, replaced the ancient plaster and done major infrastructure work to keep it in good shape for another century. We haven't changed the location, which is indeed good!
The house was perfect for our Thanksgiving break. You had great views of the lake from every room in the house. It was the perfect relaxing get away. It’s on our list for a summer get away now.
This house was everything we needed and more! We loved the location and the ability to tie our boat to the dock. We utilized all the “extras” provided with this property too, from the pack n play crib to the dog gates! Definitely recommend this property for a group looking to relax at the lake!
This house is great. The beach area and fire pit are like having a private campsite right on the lake. Fishing was superb and we brought in 6 different species (catch and release) mostly right off the dock or general beach area. Thanks for a great place
Wonderful weather
Wonderful location for a walk on the lake with family. Great time at winery and local little shops. Place was really in good condition and clean. We’re people who like to cook and what a nice kitchen.

About the host

One thing we've learned from decades of renting and now owning vacation rental houses is that perhaps the most important factor is whether the owner uses the house regularly. We do. We love the house and the area. We spend a lot of time at the house during the offseason, working on it and enjoying it. It's also a great place to write, which is part of my job. When owners use a house for more than a week in the summer, they make sure the kitchen is well equipped. They make sure everything works and is comfortable. You don't want your sister-in-law complaining about the beds! They also add to the house over time, as we have done even after the initial renovation. We love the land and we've spent tons of time getting it as beautiful as it is. There's more to do but it's been gratifying to see it come back to life over time.
Why they chose this property
We were introduced to Keuka Lake 20 years ago by friends in Rochester. We kept coming back. We bought this house with our friends because it had spectacular potential. Restoring this house -- built as early as the 1840s -- has been a ton of work, but worth it.
What makes this property unique
The sunset view. The secluded pebble beach. The house. The covered porch. Biking/walking along East Lake Rd. The area. The view.
