Beyond being a lovely house, we were impressed by how much space we had available. We had four adults, each of whom had their own room and their own bed—usually oversized—with several beds to spare and more comfy common areas than we could fully take advantage of. Next time I’ll bring more friends!
My wife and I (plus bother-in-law first time there) and our two pups came down for the festival at Stratford Hall. We have used the house three times now and it has been a joy and wonderful experience. The pups enjoyed the walks to the beach. Maria is a wonderful host! If you have questions, she gets right back to you.
5 family members traveled from South Carolina to visit with us for the holiday. They were very comfortable in your home. Thank you for all the right amenities
Home was cozy and had all the items we needed. Beautiful waterfront and atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Maria was very attentive and responded back very quickly!
Our family had a great time at the Kinsale Cove this year. Crabbing and fishing from your private pier is great. We bring hand lines to crab and in 5 days caught 70+crabs. They were delicious. The fishing is fun for the kids. We caught drum, croaker and spot. The new back deck is awesome. So nice to sit out there in the evenings relaxing by the water. Thank you for hosting us again this year!

Pros and Cons
Maria communicated very well. Check in was a breeze. Neighborhood was quiet. The house in general was dirty-the outside was unkept with trash in the yard. The inside was not clean-carpets are horribly stained. HVAC is locked and controlled by host. Had to message her to lower temperature. Not used to that in a rental and did not like that. Most of the bedroom light and fan switches did not work and wall controls are missing batteries. TV remotes were dead and/or were missing batteries. Loved the ping pong table. This could be a nice property with some attention and updating, but would not stay here again.
We had an amazing time at this property. It’s exactly as listed lots to do fun and the owner is amazing! We had great communication throughout the whole trip. We are excited to make this yearly event moving forward.
Worked great for family visiting for a celebration of life event. Pleae replace that couch. I left a mat for the tub as it was slippery and unsafe. View and wildlife were great. They should provide an iron and board. Thanks
We had a nice stay, the house is a good size space for everyone, and the ping pong and foosball tables were a huge hit! The windows that surround the house to see the water from two views is beautiful. The only down side is that there is only one full bathroom, but we knew that when we booked. There was an issue with the door lock, but once we got a hold of the property manager who connected us with the owner and it was taken care of quickly and easily. They were both very nice and it was no problem.
we had a great time and the house was nice, only one issue you need to address is the downstairs bathroom toilet wax ring needs replaced, it leaks out of bottom when flushed, we tried no using it as much and laid a towel down on the floor beside the toilet, the only complaint was the squeaky floors lol.
This year we took the whole family along with the pets. The kids had a great time fishing and crabbing. The house was big enough and well stocked. Had a great time! See you next year!!!!
I gave our kids the choice of beach, river or mountain for our Labor Day trip and they chose river and I am so glad they did.
The home was absolutely perfect for our group! We had so much fun. We crabbed, we fished, we played games, ping pong, foosball and we watched a meteor shower on the dock. It was one of those vacations where we all got to reconnect and just focus on being together.
It was comfortable and the host provided extra bedding and cots, which allowed the kids to spread out. My only complaint really is the knifes provided do not have a sharp edge, so if you're planning to prep meals, bring your own knife from home.
We would absolutely stay again, with no hesitation!
If you want quiet and relaxation, you will find it here. The cove is beautiful. There was no one around. We enjoyed afternoons on the dock in the shade. Our kids enjoyed fishing and crabbing. We brought our own paddle board to explore. The house is very welcoming for dogs and had everything we needed! I would love to see addition of a patio or screened in porch in the future or possibly some kayaks! The host was very responsive.
Love the property. If you want to get nitpicky. Linens don't match. Hair on my sheets, might be due to static cling. Pots and pans are warped.
Love it otherwise.
The ping pong table was awesome we enjoyed watching a DVD and you can also sign into your Netflix or whatever you have and the kitchen was prepared with everything for our cooking needs and the grill was even great.
Secluded and quiet location. House has everything listed on the site you will need to enjoy yourselves. Local merchants are helpful with ideas. Fishing from the dock is what my boys loved the most. Granddaugther loved the kid friendly house. Community beach is just a short walk down the road. One recommendation to check the water before the kids run in. Jellyfish. Overall we had a great time and would love to visit again

spacious property
The property size is great, internet and amentities are fine. I wish this place was more clean. The outside of the house was littered with poop from wild life. The pier had poop all over it. The water was over grown with weeds so you are unable to crab or fish at this property.
This property is dog friendly which is a plus. My pup loved playing in the water. I wish it was not as swampy but what can you do. If you add an outdoor washing area that would be helpful with kids and dogs.
The property manager/owner was very responsive which is a plus.
This was our second time staying at this property. Just as homey and comfortable as the first time. The pups enjoyed their stay as well. We explored different local towns and spent our Saturday at Stratford Hall. Looking forward to calming back again!
This was such a great place for our family to stay. We traveled for a family wedding nearby, and wanted to have a few days to catch up with family in the area. Initially we thought about getting 2 hotel rooms, but decided to try this home instead - we are so glad we did!! You can see water from every window. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The host was very responsive and we had no issues at all, just a relaxing great time!
December Winter Vacation
Our family of 5, (6 with our 4 legged family member) enjoyed all of the things offered at the home, board games, card games, Foosball table, ping pong table, outdoor fire pit with picnic bench, the views are breathtaking, there are TV's in every bedroom and family room. Which is a nice feature for separate families. The peace and quiet were exactly what this big city family needed to reboot!! Our hostess Maria was available with an answer to every question. Highly recommend if you are looking for peace and tranquility
Kinsale Cove exceeded our expectations. The view from the back yard is awe inspiring. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings, taking in the crisp autumn air. Maria was very responsive.
The place is just as described. A few feet out the back door is the river and a dock. You can watch the fish jump out of the water. We saw bald eagles and all kinds of wildlife. The only downside is that it can be a bit of a drive to anything. The closest grocery store is 20 minutes away, restaurants are about 20 minutes away. We were there during the off-season and most things were not open till Wednesday or Thursday. These things did not bother me as I had to work and being able to sit in the kitchen and stare out at the river view while working was worth it to me.
This is the third time staying at the Kinsale Cove. We love it! The location, it's peaceful plus the fishing and crabbing right from the dock. Maria answers all your questions timely and checking in and out is a breeze.

About the host
Hosted by Maria
Welcome to Kinsale Cove, my home away from home. After my oldest sons moved out, I wanted to get a home where the family can come together and spend a few days away from the distractions of the big city sounds and crowds.
Why they chose this property
The Kinsale/Sandy Point area is a reasonable drive from the DC area and there are enough activities happening around the towns that makes this house enjoyable. I love that is in a secluded neighborhood and close enough to the marina. Bring kayaks, canoes or jon boats and enjoy what the Yeocomico River has to offer.
What makes this property unique
Kinsale Cove is designed to invite conversation and togetherness. You can enjoy sitting on the dock at dawn with a warm cup of coffee, fishing for crabs, canoeing down the river, enjoying a picnic lunch, grilling your favorite meats and my favorite pass time - sitting by the fire at night watching the stars and moon go by. When inside, you can enjoy a good old fashioned game of charades or challenge others to a game of ping pong. Life is about enjoying each others company - put the cell phones away and live in the moment.
