Relaxing Private Riverfront Retreat with Beach and Private Dock

We have named our house “Rivah Retreat” as your worries and stresses are left behind once you arrive and take in the river and all of nature’s beauty is nothing short of serenity! You will hear the locals and those visiting the Northern Neck Region say they are heading to the “Rivah” when they refer to this beautiful area. We hope you love this place every bit as much as we do!

The house is located in the Sandy Harbor community in Kinsale. The waterfront is located on White Point Creek which is a protected cove great for kayaking and paddle boarding. The cove is minutes away from Yecomico and Potomac Rivers, making it a boater’s and fishers paradise. Something for everyone! We provide three kayaks and one paddleboard and life jackets. While you are down at the dock we include eight beach chairs for relaxing by the water. We have a little beach area for relaxing, playing in the sand, or accessing the water.

Looking for a family, girls or guys gate away this house is perfect for all of those memorable occasions. We are dog friendly with approval from the owner.

When you are done enjoying all of the beauty of the water you can have a relaxing dinner and beverage on the oversized deck, relax by the indoor or outdoor fire. So many options to choose and the privacy away from any neighbors.

Inside you will find many amenities to make your stay relaxing including a fully equipped kitchen including extra’s like starter coffee, panni maker and crockpot. A full sized washer and dryer are provided with a few days worth of laundry pods. The house provides high speed wireless internet, games galore and TV’s to stream or watch your favorite movies. The house includes private King Master bedroom with large en-suite bathroom, second bedroom is large King bedroom that shares a hall bathroom with the third bedroom which includes a Queen size bed, Double bed and an air mattress bed. There’s also a half bathroom off the kitchen. A large stone fireplace in the great room provides a great play for everyone to gather on the cooler nights to okay games, watch your favorite movie and just relax and unwind.

We provide 8 beach chairs, bed linens and towels for the number of guests staying. The kitchen is fully appointed.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please put all used towels in the bathrooms. Turn heat down to 62 and air to 78 when leaving
Remove all food and garbage from home prior to leaving. Make sure all umbrellas are closed.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We had a great weekend at Kathy’s place. We were able to bring our dog which was great. We loved the little beach to launch the kayaks from and had bonfires at night. The house was clean and as described. We'd definitely stay here again when up on the Northern Neck!

This is a fantastic property set up the relax and play! It had everything we needed for an extended weekend with friends. The whole house is comfortable. We kayaked, made a fire, grilled a great dinner and explored the area. Don’t miss the Kinsale Market! Most spectacular: the star gazing.

We had a great Memorial Day weekend getaway.The home was set in a very private location and we enjoyed fishing off the dock.The beds were incredibly comfortable and we all commented on how great we slept each nighr.Grear place for quiet downtime which is what we were looking for.Thank you for a great stay, we will be back!

We enjoyed our stay. Plenty to do right at the house. Kayaking was the best part! Unfortunately we couldn't get in the water due to the jelly fish. Our best surprise was our visit to a near by winery called Hague! Yummy wines and good conversation with the owner Steve.

A great Thanksgiving at the river retreat!

We enjoyed a perfect stay. The house is as described, very cozy and quiet with everything you need for cooking, to relax, play, walk, etc. We also appreciated a lot the fire pit and the chimney as it was very cold. There's plenty activities and nice towns around.

Property was everything we wanted for a get away. House was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Water was refreshing until the jellyfish decided to pay us a visit. Neighborhood was so quiet. We took morning and evening walks with our dog and she loved it. Saw the occasional deer and rabbit.Kathy was so easy to communicate with. Can't wait to come back!

Peaceful and serene location in a quiet neighborhood. Kitchen is probably the best & most well stocked we've ever seen in a rental. Everything you need, the kitchen has it. Propane grill was easy to use. House has plenty of space to spread out and relax. Plenty of board games if you just want to stay inside. If you like beer, go and check out Callao Brewing Co... a short drive. We will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Very well stocked kitchen and comfortable spaces. My dog loved the yard and there is a nice walking loop. The early morning kayaking was incredible!! As a heads up, the nearest grocery store is quite far, but a very minor concern compared to everything else which was wonderful.

Great Family/Friend Vacation

We absolutely loved our vacation in Kinsale on the water. The kids loved the swimming, fishing and making smores! The bedrooms were spacious and plenty of extra blankets. Warm water does take awhile when showering and it would have been nice to have the option for curtains on the doors and windows for night time. Other than that, we had a great time.

Cozy, quiet and highly recommended

The cottage is very spacious with lots of light. It overlooks a small cove and the river. We saw ducks, herons, and eagles. The location is in a wooded and quiet community. Description on VRBO was accurate. Communication with the owner was great.
