Other things to note
The Potomac River is a brackish waterway, meaning it is a mix of fresh and salt water. The Potomac River eventually flows into the Chesapeake Bay and to the Atlantic Ocean. A variety of fresh and saltwater marine life can be found in the river including blue crab, striped bass, blue catfish, white perch, yellow perch, black drum, croaker, spot and more.
If you are planning to go fish you may want to stop by Bird Dogs Convince Store to pick up bait (nightcrawler, bloodworms, minnows, etc. )
