What a gem Cactus Wren is. Our host was amazing and thought of every little thing that we may need. The place is just darling and very clean. The only problem was that we should have planned a longer stay. But…we will be back!! Bisbee is a wonderful place. We loved everything about it!!! Thank you so much for making our stay so special.
Best VRBO stay ever! Host Deanna was very warm and welcoming, checking to be sure we had everything needed. The house itself is gorgeous, spacious, sunny in the morning, beautifully finished and furnished. At first the steps up to the site were daunting, but we soon got accustomed and in shape. We could walk anywhere. Great location in Old Bisbee.
Beautiful place to stay. The host is excellent and a great communicator. If you forget something, they will have it for you. Everything about this house was perfect.
Our stay at the Copper Wren was absolutely exceptional in every way! The host of this beautifully decorated and well-appointed property has thought of every amenity one could possibly want or need for a thoroughly comfortable and enjoyable experience. Deanna graciously reached out to us before and during our stay to ensure that we felt personally welcomed and to assure us of her availability should we require anything. Truly feeling like our home-away-from-home the Copper Wren greatly enhanced our visit to Bisbee. We enthusiastically and highly recommend this lovely guest house.
The home is beautiful with great views. Enough room for my family, home was clean had everything we needed, the host thought of everything and was easy to communicate with. Would definitely go back to Bisbee, and would definitely stay here again.
This was our second stay at Copper Wren. Just as wonderful as our first visit. The house is so clean and cozy. It's like a home away from home. Deanna is so kind and easy to communicate with. Still our favorite VRBO to date. We'll definitely be back.
This host is the most accommodating I’ve experienced. Warm, friendly, supportive, goes above and beyond. We were celebrating birthdays as I asked if she had cake pans. She purchased the metal and the rubber ones and gave us fresh flowers and candles. Highly recommend. Will stay there again.

This house is beautiful. Deanna reached out before we arrived to check on anything we might need and checked on us after we arrived. There were snacks for us and food for our first breakfast. The upstairs had a beautiful porch with comfortable furniture. Also a porch on first floor. Great family room with smart tv and also a great selection of music. The host provided you with everything you might need! The house was spotless and had countless extras to make you feel at home! Thank you!
Checking in was a breeze. We absolutely loved everything about the Copper Wren and I would highly recommend. The beds were super comfortable and the house was so well appointed, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Gorgeous kitchen and beautiful decor all around.

About the host
Hosted by Deanna Bellinger
Bisbee captured our hearts from our first encounter with the colorful, quirky historic town, and in 1999 we purchased the 1904 miners' cabin at 3 Temby, which would become Copper Wren.
Troy and I are originally from Southern CA, but have always found the desert alluring, with the incredible vistas, and diversity of wildlife. In 1992, we moved to Sierra Vista to be closer to relatives in the area, and to escape the ruckus and chaos of big city living. We adapted quickly to the rural environment, and purchased acreage about 15 miles west of Bisbee, on which we built our southwestern-style straw bale home. You might say we are fanatical “do-it-yourselfers” who work our regular full-time jobs when we aren’t playing and making things. We are also currently raising three teenagers, along with our goats, chickens and two goofy dogs, which of course makes life a perpetual adventure!
Why they chose this property
When we began to remodel the little miner’s cabin, our plan was to enlarge it so Troy’s father could live more comfortably in the tiny space, and, as his father was an artist, we made sure the remodeled home would have lots of windows and ample natural light. After finishing the first phase, the the city informed us the cabin would need to be razed to the ground and rebuilt because, like many of the structures built around the turn of the 20th century in Bisbee, it was sitting on rubble and not anchored to the hillside.
So... over the next 18mos, we lovingly rebuilt the home and added a second floor. During the process, we discovered old receipts, handwritten notes, and newspapers hidden in the wall boards dating back to 1904. We also dug up sherds of discarded pottery and other odd items from Bisbee’s early days. It was like being on an archeological dig!
Troy’s father enjoyed living at the house and relished being a part of the local Bisbee community for several years. Copper Wren has been a gathering place for many family get-togethers, celebrations and special memory-making. It has also been featured on the Bisbee Home Tour.
Fast forward - Troy’s father ended up moving to Tucson and we spent the next year sprucing up the home in our spare time, getting it ready for new guests. It truly has been a labor of love and satisfying creative diversion.
Now we are pleased to share Copper Wren with travelers and adventurers, or those simply looking for a unique place to retreat and rejuvenate.
