About the host
Hosted by Tim Brown
We live in Tucson, but we love to escape to Bisbee for its scenery and laid back vibe. Jose Maria is a math educator at a local community college and Tim is retired. We are both transplants to southern Arizona and we really love the weather and people. Jose Maria is a Fulbright scholar from from El Salvador and received his bachelor's degree from LSU and his Masters and PhD from Virginia Tech. Tim is from the Los Angeles area and received his Bachelor's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish from San Diego State. He also spent 21 years in the military and retired from the Navy Reserves in 2013 as a Chief Petty Officer where he was a weather forecaster. He also owned a small insurance agency in Tucson that he sold in 2024. He is now running amuck.
Why they chose this property
We've been coming to Bisbee for years to visit friends and take advantage of many of the events that occur throughout the year such as the annual Pride Festival in June, the 4th of July parade and coaster race down Tombstone Canyon and the Bisbee 1000. Our house is right on the route. When this house became available, we decided it was time to have our own place to "chill out." The neighborhood is quiet and is away from the hustle and bustle of Tombstone Canyon, but close to everything. We couldn't be happier. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
Roberts Cottage sits up on a hillside so you have nice views from many areas inside the house and out. The back deck is our pride and joy. It was completely redone in 2025 and boasts almost 200 SF. It's secluded and quiet. It's ideal for small parties like a wedding reception or birthday party. The side yard and front porch provide ample space for guests. The upper part of the deck is large enough to accommodate a small band. The deck is also a great space to relax and reflect. All the neighbors are part-time residents so most of the time you have this part of Roberts to yourself.
