Jungle hideaway
This place is amazing. It is the cutest bungalow tucked away in the most beautiful grounds. We saw many birds including a parrot (wow). It is centraly located to all the fantastic things to see in this area. The screened in porch was our favorite hang out spot. It is very clean and well equipped.Rosa is so friendly and helped with anything we needed. After a long day out we were treated to her fantastic cooking. We would highly recommend the beef burritos (we had them twice). If you are staying in this area this is the place. Thanks everyone for making our stay so wonderful.

Could Have Been Better
The property itself is really nice. The people are nice. It feels like you are sleeping in the jungle like advertised. The only reason for the three-star rating was the water situation. We were only able to shower one day out of four with any kind of water pressure. Tried morning and night. I have a buzz cut and had to fill buckets from the sink to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. One day there was no water pressure at all. Went on our excursion without showering. Rent a car if you are staying here. It is a drive to town to get groceries or the other direction to get wet in the river.

Lovely cabins with kitchenettes in the heart of the jungle!
What an enchanting place (peaceful & secluded) – conveniently located just off the highway, but feeling very remote, and like you are deep in the wilds of Belize! Fruiting palms around the cabins attract toucans, trogons & motmots right outside your door, which makes this a thrilling spot for bird watchers! We were so mesmerized, we spent our entire time just here! The owners have kept the surrounding forest intact, while also landscaping the pathways with wondrous tropical foliage and exquisite flowering plants! Our favorites were the gorgeous Hibiscus blossoms, & the dainty clusters of Belize’s national flower – the Black Orchid! We loved our cabin – very spacious & “homey,” with a fully stocked kitchenette, dazzling hummingbird/parrot/bromeliad artwork on the walls, cheery floral curtains, beautifully crafted wooden dining table, attractive bathroom/shower stocked with sunscreens, shampoos, & soaps, and a MOST lovely screened deck that beckoned the jungle sights & sounds right into the balcony! Most meals we prepared ourselves (with grocery shopping nearby - either by taxi or rental car), but one enchanted evening, the co-owner, Rose, prepared an elegant, outdoor dinner for us & 2 guests in her on-site “Hummingbird Kitchen” (where she also made breakfasts for guests). Rose also gave me a special cooking lesson on how to make “Fried Jacks” – which were delicious fresh from the frypan, & drizzled with honey! We highly recommend this VRBO!

Great people and great property
My group had all three cabins and they were all wonderful. The family that owns the place were so nice and helpful. The restaurant food was delicious. We hope to go back and stay again soon.

Hi, my name is Melody. We are a small family who have devoted our time to provide clean and comfortable homes for our guests to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

This land holds a special place in our hearts. It was owned by my grandfather who was a migrant from the cast war against the Mayas and the Spaniards in Yucatan, Mexico . My grandfather was looking for farm land to settle and raise his family. As the years past, my father dreamed of building lodges to living in harmony with nature. Only a few threes were cut down but replaces with fruit tees and flowering plants to sustain the wildlife that was there. In the mornings you will hear birds signing, toucans, humming birds, parakeets and the sounds of the jungle at night. As a family, we admire the place we have put so much love and we want you to enjoy the property.
