This place is so perfect in every way. We like being in the woods but minutes from town. This place is clean, well maintained, well equipped, Mike is very responsive if you need to reach him, and there are a number of other homes on sight. He has 25 acres and five houses to choose from. Hiking trails, walking paths and beautiful views. We have already committed to coming back next September. The Black Mountain area is a real pleasure with culinary variety. Close to several major state and federal hiking trails. This is a must do for your vacation.

A Real Stunner!

Our stay in Black Mountain was amazimg! The views were absolutely stunning, and the cabin was cozy and peaceful! We had plenty of space to move around and have individual space. The road to the cabin makes you feel like you are truly in the mountains! I will definitely be staying again, hopefully in a cooler month!

The Perfect Getaway

If you are looking for a clean, quiet comfortable place to just get away from it all, this is the place. Great place to chill after a day of hiking yet close enough to Asheville for all that it has to offer.

Fantastic house and views!

Great house with awesome mountain views. Home was clean and stocked with supplies. Home was very private and location was perfect for trips to Mount Mitchell, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Pisgah Forest. Loved the family and dog friendly breweries and restaurants in Asheville! Tons to do while at the house- games, hot tub, hiking trails and creek right on the property! We loved Mitchell View!

Wonderful Stay with 6 kids!

We rented this cabin for a week with our six kids ranging in age from 2-17. It was spacious and the three levels gave everyone the space they needed. The house was clean and the views amazing. Property with trails and creeks kept everyone busy when we were not out sight-seeing. The Rosemans were very gracious and helpful. My only complaint is the size of the master bed, too small!

Perfect Mountain Weekend

We had such a wonderful time staying at Mitchell view. This was our first trip into the Blue Ridge Mountains, but it certainly won’t be our last! I would stay here again, in a heartbeat. Not only was the house, beautiful and cozy at the same time, but it was well equipped. Our children had a great time playing with the air hockey table, and we all enjoyed the hot tub with amazing views! We ended up needing to contact the owner because our car died while we were there. He couldn’t have been more responsive or helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone!

Timing is everything...

Great cabin. Has everything you need. Very close to the town of Black Mtn. I wished we had know that the owner is currently building a new cabin across from this one. The construction noise varied from heavy equipment running, to saws & hammers. The construction is suppose to finish sometime in April. Had we known this, we would have waited to book our trip after the construction was finished, so that we could enjoy a peaceful mountain vacation.

Great Mountain Vacation!

The cabin was everything we were looking for! The location was close enough to the town of black mountain but definitely off the beaten path so you felt you were really tucked away in the woods. There were other cabins in the area that were not seen from this cabin which gave privacy but also gave me more of a sense of safety. We did not use the fireplace but enjoyed the firepit outside and made smores. We were constantly on the go and the cabin was a great home base to come back to and relax after a full day of hiking, exploring and shopping. We rented a Tahoe and were so glad we did as the gravel road to the cabin is a little rough. Not enough to need a 4wd but definitely bumpy! Overall great trip and we were so happy to spend quality time with our 2 adult children at this little gem in the mountains. And btw, the town of Black Mountain is adorable and the people are just lovely! We went to the tailgate farmers market and we came home with honey ghee, creamed honey and harth baked bread! YUM!!

Secluded cabin with an Incredible view!

My friends and I absolutely loved Mitchell View! Driving up to the house for the first time you realize how truly secluded it is. The last 1.5 miles of road was all gravel and there were some pretty steep hills - I would definitely recommend AWD/4WD vehicle all year round. There is only one other cabin visible from the deck and it is pretty far away - I highly recommend you appreciate how easy it is to see the stars - it was beautiful! The house itself was a great size. It comfortably fit 6 of us. We used the hot tub every night and it warmed up really fast. One thing to mention is that the hot tub was definitely overfilled - with even 2 of us the water started overflowing. Being in the middle of the woods we thought bugs would be an issue but we were pleasantly surprised that they weren't bad at all. We did have the power go out in the main floor bedroom but Mike was very quick to respond and it was an easy fix! The house was realistically a 15 minute drive from Black Mountain and about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville. We definitely recommend Mitchell View cabin and we would happily book again if we are ever back in the area. Thanks Mike!

Amazing Cabin, Property, and View!

My family and I stayed in the Mitchell View cabin over the Memorial Day weekend this year and without a doubt, it was the best log cabin vacation experience we've ever had. While researching where to stay, and coming across this cabin, I thought that the pictures on the site must have been selectively taken by a professional photographer to make the property appear better than it actually could be... Nothing could have been further from the truth. If anything, the pictures do not even come close to doing the cabin, the property, and the view justice!!! Every last detail is taken care of, and there is nothing that you could want that hasn't already been thought of and provided. The cabin is spacious, and in immaculate condition, inside and out. The two decks are both expansive and provide amazing veiws of the Blue Ridge Mountains that never get old. From watching the sunrise in the morning with coffee to seeing it set in the evening with a beer or a glass of wine, just sitting outside in one of the rocking chairs and taking in the views was my favorite part of the trip. However, there was no shortage of other things to do and entertain ourselves with during in the trip. From the hot tub, to the air hockey table, the bumper pool table, tire swing, fire pit, trails, etc...you name it, they've got it! Lastly, you could never ask for better owners to work with for a vacation. They were very quick to communicate with, and provided the exact amount of interaction that we wanted and needed...not too much to feel intrusive on your visit, but yet so repsonsive to anything we asked about. I can't think of anyone being able to do it better. Without a doubt, I will make many trips back to the Black Mountain and Asheville area just so I can stay here (and try out the other cabins as well) again!!!

Mitchell View was as advertised!

We loved Mitchell View and highly recommend it if your plans take you to the Black Mountain area. Everything about the log cabin home was as advertised. The owner Mike Roseman was very communicative prior to our arrival and gave excellent directions. The home itself was clean, spacious and had great amenities. We loved the wrap around deck and sat on the rocking chairs every moring with our coffee enjoying the fantastic view of the Black Mountain range and Mount Mitchell. The three bedrooms and two baths (each with a double sink) was perfect for the 5 of us. The kitchen was well stocked with tableware and utensils, and we took advantage of the gas grill on the deck. There was also plenty of lounging around space inside, and the flat screen TV's with DirecTV and DVD's worked fine for our evening entertainment. The wifi was also easy to access and worked well. And one night we enjoyed smores at the firepit they have on the property. Mitchell View is such a convenient location for all the activities we enjoyed. Within a half hour to hour drive we were able to go to the Biltmore in Asheville, whitewater rafting on the French Broad, a day at Chimney Rock, and hiking at Mount Mitchell on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We loved the town of Black Mountain (shops and restaurants) and also drove over to Montreat one morning for a hike at the college. There is a great gormet market called The Artisan just a few minutes from Mitchell View where we enjoyed coffee, homemade brats to cook on the grill, and a great selection of wines and other food items. In Black Mountain, we especially enjoyed eating at Thai Basil, The Bistro, Todd's Sandwich Shop (outdoors for lunch), and Ole Guacamoles. The cupcakes are also tasty at Hey Hey Cupcake downtown. One of the highlights of our stay was seeing a black bear on the road up Mitchell View on our way back from Chimney Rock! We have only good things to say about Mitchell View and would stay there again if we vacation in Black Mountain.

Cabin views are some of the best I have seen. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. The bedding was musty smelling on the sofa sleeper and felt damp. The beds were VERY firm as were the pillows. The staircases are pie shaped steps at the turns which made hauling suitcases up and down a bit of a challenge. Be prepared for an interesting drive to the cabin. Hairpin turns, which is typical in the mountains, turn into unpaved narrow roads that are quite rough in places. We were in a van and made it but had some traction issues in a few places. You also need to know you will be asked to wash all the towels before leaving. There were six women on our trip, which a lot of towels used between showers, hair and hot tub. We spent several hours doing 3 loads of towels and didn't get the last load dried before we had to leave for Charlotte airport. There was a not a cookie sheet for baking pizzas but the kitchen was fairly well stocked. Check in was seamless with the lock box. Mike was easy to connect with and always helpful.

Secluded gem!

This cabin and property are amazing for those looking for a secluded, quiet getaway in the mountains. We saw wildlife, my kids enjoyed playing in the on-property creek just a short walk away, the hot tub was perfect and the cabin was extremely comfortable for our family and dog. Black Mountain and the grocery store is nearby, but the cabin is away from the hustle and bustle. Mike was a great communicator and responsive. Thanks for a wonderful week.
