About this property
Charming house in the countryside with small river
The house is located 2km from the village of Grignan, in the heart of the Drôme Provençale.
You will find yourself in the countryside, surrounded by lavender fields and truffle oaks, in a very quiet and rejuvenating environment.
A small river borders this old cottage restored with raw materials and furnished with quality furniture in the same spirit.
With an area of 350m2, the house consists on the ground floor, a large dining room, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with pantry, a separate toilet and a bedroom double with en suite shower room and toilet.
Upstairs, you will access a second living room, a shower room, a toilet and 4 other double bedrooms:
- 1 bedroom with shower room and toilet
- 1 bedroom with shower room
- 2 bedrooms
All rooms are arranged with beds in 180cm x 200cm (2 beds of 90cm together).
Outside, you will enjoy a shaded terrace, a large beautifully wooded garden, a swimming pool 10m x 5m secured by an electric shutter and a petanque. A gas barbecue is at your disposal as well as all the garden furniture.
The house is not equipped with air conditioner but the freshness can be maintained without difficulty because of the thickness of the old walls.
The owners have chosen not to install a television and internet connection but if your telephone network allows it, you will be able to access the 4G network.
You will be able to watch movies from your computer by broadcasting on the overhead projector.
Sarah, from the Serenity Home Conciergerie will welcome you and will be available during your stay to answer your requests (tourist advice, activities of the region, calendar of the events).
She will also be able to put you in touch with its partners: tour operator, guide speaker, cook at home, babysitter, personal yoga teacher, beautician, masseur at home, rental of electric bike assistance (or not) ...
Grignan is a small village of 1500 inhabitants, famous for its castle where Madame de Sévigné stayed but also for the Collegiate Church of Saint Sauveur, the Grotte de Rochecourbières, its Lavoirs and Fountains, its collection of ancient Roses along the alleys, its Museum of Art. 'Imprimerie et Ecriture', its old bookshops and plays that are played all summer long at the Château (if you are interested do not forget to book your tickets in advance).
To get a better idea of the village, you can go to the Grignan Tourist Office.
Concerning the village shops, there are: grocery store, bakery, newspapers / tobacco, pharmacy / doctors, distributors, cafes, clothing stores, jewelery, decoration ... and many restaurants. An Intermarché is nearby, 3 minutes by car.
Grignan market is held every Tuesday, you can discover local producers and specialties of the region: essential oil of lavender, honey, olives, nougats, picodon (goat cheese), wines (AOP Grignan-les-Adhémar ), ravioles, flakes.
Here are some tours and activities offered by the region:
- Heritage: castles, typical villages, Abbey of Our Lady of Aiguebelle, Chapel of the Val des Nymphes (classified village of the Guard Adhémar), Chauvet Cave, Theater Antique Orange, Palace of the Popes of Avignon, Pont du Gard ...
- Local crafts: pottery, ceramics, painters and sculptors ...
- Activities: tree climbing park, climbing, horse riding, golf, quad, carriage ride, hiking trail, descent of the Gorges de l'Ardèche by canoe kayak, crocodile farm, nougat factories ...
