The house was great. Very clean. Everything was labeled (light switches, kitchen cabinets, etc.) Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and eating. Lots of towels, extra pillows, blankets. We would definitely stay there again if we returned to Carlsbad.
This is a lovely property and perfect for our needs. The place was exactly as described, clean and ready for our arrival. The kitchen was well appointed and we ate in often. The location for perfect for bringing our family together for Christmas and our trips to Carlsbad Cavern and Guadalupe Mountains national parks. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We stayed two nights and it worked out great. The place is all as described and pictured. Owner was easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again.
This home was very convenient for us - easy to get onto roads leading to the Caverns and Guadalupe. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious.
The Living Desert was a highlight in Carlsbad and the hike. We ate twice at El Jimador. The Cavern was amazing of course as were hikes in Guadalupe.
Only issue some of us had that is not under the owners’ control was the three or four barking dogs in the neighborhood - they were quiet after dark tho.

We spent three nights. Home is spacious and worked well for two couples to enjoy with fairly separated bedrooms and nice central open living area. Home was comfortable and clean and was a nice base location to enjoy the local national parks. Kitchen ha needed cooking utensils and serving wear and lots of various appliances. There is a grocery near by to pick up any basics like coffee etc, as the kitchen is kept clean of old food stuff. We would stay again. We didn't take advantage of small backyard covered patio with grill, but it looked like a nice place to sit on a cool evening. Communication with host was all good, very clear and organized. Enjoy!

Could be nice, but it wasn't
We ended up arriving at the house at 10:30 PM, only to find it a mess. Had it been earlier and had we not been so tired from traveling, we would have left immediately and found a local hotel.
From the overly full trash can out front, I suspect that the previous guests really trashed the place and the cleaning crew did the best they could in the time they had. But the place was filthy when we arrived. There were two dirty, used sponges at the kitchen sink. There was what appeared to be cat kibble on the kitchen floor. The kitchen pantry bi-fold doors were gross: the one on the right had bloody fingerprints and the one on the left had a brown goo on it. There was a dried smear on the wall next to the fridge which had tomato seeds sticking in it. There was dried snot (I hope it was snot) on the primary bathroom door knob. The primary bathroom toilet had fecal stains in it. The second bathroom has what appears to be mold on the wall above the shower tile. We took photos and submitted them to VRBO.
The place could be nice. But the whole place needs a fresh coat of paint. The walls are dirty. The doors are dirty. There are no encasements on the mattresses or pillows. Bedbugs anyone? We left after one night. Owner gave $100 refund of "the cleaning fee."
This place has amazing ratings previously, so we were shocked by the condition and (lack of) cleanliness.
Visited Carlsbad caverns for my daughter’s birthday. We had a great time and absolutely loved this house! Clean, great communication with the host, everything we needed was in close proximity. We would definitely recommend.
The check in process was easy as was the check out process. The instructions for the stay were easy to follow. There was plenty of room for our group and there were 8 of us.
This home is located on a very busy street so probably not the best fit for parents with small children. The rug in the living room had a turned up corner which made it a trip hazard. It was not as clean as we hoped it would. The sheets smelled slightly spoiled and one of the comforts was dusty. There was no fire extinguisher. We noticed this when we were learning where everything was located. Not enough towels. We hope all of this can be corrected for the next guests.
Well appointed, clean, and organized property close to a lot of fun! Stayed with my family of five over Father’s Day. The house was spacious and perfectly comfortable for us. Kids and adults alike enjoyed competing on the mini arcade game. A short pretty drive to explore the Caverns, lots of delicious restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive, and a great brewery worth a visit. We skipped the Living Zoo due to the heat that day, but that would be a wonderful stop when the weather is cooler. We also made an hour drive up the highway to Roswell, enjoying the museum and other fun alien-themed attractions. The hosts were very communicative, checking in and out was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again if we come back for a longer Ranger-guided tour of the Caverns or to check out boating and bass fishing at the lake.
The house was perfect for my group of friends who were in the area to hike Guadalupe Peak. Home was nice, clean, and well furnished for our needs. Check in/out process was easy and the communication with the host was excellent. I would rent again in the future. Thanks!
I'd stay there again if I needed to be in Carlsbad. The house was clean and comfortable, and there was very easy access to the main drag in Carlsbad as well as the main highway leading back home.
The house was great. We mainly used it as a place to sleep while we went to Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mtns NPs. The street the house is on is busy, especially when the games are done at the park across the street.
Overall the property was fantastic. A couple small improvements would help though. The bedroom in the front of the house would benefit from blackout shades too keep the light from the streetlight across the street from lighting up the room all night. Also the bed has a very loud squeak that wakes you every time you rollover. These are just little things that certainly wouldn't stop me from staying at this property again. Check in and out went smooth and the host was very prompt in responding when we had questions. A great place to stay in Carlsbad.
Nicely appointed home. Well- maintained, with fully stocked kitchen. We had to buy ice, as the ice maker wasn't working, but no big deal. There are a couple of stores down the street. We visited Carlsbad Caverns NP, Guadalupe Mountains NP, White Sands NP, and Roswell. Nice central location. We enjoyed the fire pit several nights. In a neighborhood, but quiet. We enjoyed our stay!
My sister and i had a road trip through New Mexico. The property was clean, quiet, in a great location, and communications with the owner/manager were clear and helpful. We especially loved parking in the garage - so convenient! It was a very relaxing place after a busy day!!
Thank you!!
Great property and well equipped. We had a small issue which was resolved within a few hours - great service. We especially appreciated the very clean bedding and being able to park in the garage.
Clean, matches listing, use of the garage is nice. It does need a new water heater. The water is very hard here, so heater is probably 2/3 full of hard water deposits. You'll only get 5 min of hot water, so shower fast.
We loved everything about this property! It was super clean, had all we needed and the location was perfect for going to Guadalupe Mountains and eating out. The host was very responsive and made everything easy. We’ll be coming back.
