A great visit. Driveway requires 4 wheel drive in the snow. Excellent view at the top of the mountain. Great ski vacation

Pool table was filthy, fridge wasn’t cleaned out, ice maker didn’t work, one of the bathroom sinks downstairs didn’t work. Nice house with plenty of room though.
While we were en-route to the house we had rented, we were called and told that a water pipe had busted in our rental house. This is of course a random instance and to no fault of CCR. However, the best replacement house we had available to choose from was missing many important amenities to our families. We requested partial credit compensation because of this and CCR denied the request. Separately, upon checkin, the house had an inoperable hot tub (it was half empty) and it was without the firewood that was supposed to be in the garage for the wood burning fireplace. The lack of consideration for the major shift in our vacation by CCR was the primary reason for the low rating.
Had a wonderful stay, great views of the valley below as well as the mountains. House was perfect for our families which included grandparents who needed the first floor master.
We had a great family trip. The house was amazing. Great views, plenty of space for the family. The hike up the mountain was adventurous. But the trek was well worth it. Will be coming back.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share regarding your stay. Your trust and your business are incredibly important to us. Its our sincerest hope that a revisit will happen, sooner rather than later.
Great place. Location was fantastic. The views. Wow. Hiking in the morning and pool in the afternoon. With cooking meals every night the kitchen became a little crowded but that's kind of tradition.

Thank you so much for sharing. It was a pleasure hosting your stay and its our hope that you will revisit us again soon.
The cabin had plenty of space for our family of 14. The mountain was beautiful and had several hiking trails within walking distance which was great for our young kids who needed to burn some energy! The hot tub was perfect for evenings after long days of hiking. The cabin itself was a little outdated/run down and there were quite a few kitchen necessities that were broken/missing (cutting knives, pot holders, cooking untensils, etc.) The batteries in all the remotes were dead and we were only given 3 dishwasher tabs and 3 trash bags for 14 people for 6 days. We did end up having to buy quite a few of these essentials that should have been provided. We had a couple issues that needed to be handled by the property management and they responded quickly to fix the issues so that was a big plus. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed our time. With just a few updates and some TLC to the cabin, it would be perfect.
Overall the place is as described. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had all the tools we needed for cooking and the house was well equipped. The hot tub was a nice bonus with the views of the mountains. The movie and game rooms were set up wonderfully. Our large group was allowed to spread out and never felt on top of one another. The only thing that could be improved on was keeping up with the small maintaince items in the home to keep the home stellar.

Thank you so much for sharing. Knowing our guest had a great time and enjoyed the property is its own reward! Take care and we hope you will revisit sooner rather than later.
Beautiful location with hiking trails close by. Appliances in kitchen were a challenge the oven and various outlets were unable to be used together. The hot tub was not operable although the property managers tried. This would have been a deal breaker for us when renting if we had known. Great space for multiple families and we would definitely stay again.

Great house but wasn't clean
The house was great in its layout and accommodations. Fixtures and finishes were nice and the view amazing. We are thankful we found it.
However, I noticed that the floors were not cleaned. In some instances not swept - master and living room. I had to clean the tub on the master on main to use it.
The hot tub was not ready as guaranteed on arrival. We had to add water to it. And had to have it serviced. It was not usable for 24 hours.
The cleaning fee is way TOO high for how it was when we arrived.
Door from kit to grill is difficult to open.

We are very disappointed in the condition that you found the home upon your arrival. As a result a new cleaning contractor was brought in resulting in a much better and cleaner product. Thank you for your constructive comments. Its our sincerest hope that we can assist in any future travel arrangements.

Great View, Mediocre House
Unfortunately the views at the house are not enough to overcome the lack of cleanliness and quality of amenities in this home.
We arrived at 6pm on our check in day and the house was filthy. Dirty sheets and towels, dirty floors, crumbs on tables/counters. We called the rental company and they did get a cleaner - but due to the remote location, we did not get a cleaner finished with the house so that we could move into our rooms until after 11pm. We lost the first night and had to have all 13 of us sit on the deck until they were done.
The rest of the week was spent mostly outside the house at wedding events and hiking the area - such a beautiful location.
The kitchen, bathrooms and overall house are 'okay' - but clearly has been overused and not fully taken care of. No cushions on the outside furniture, wall hooks that fall off the walls when towels are hung on them, no kitchen knives (had grilled steaks and had to use pizza cutter to cut pieces).
If the home got a mild update and deep clean, the next people may have a better, more satisfying experience.

Unfortunate Chain of Events
We had high hopes for the Mile High Lodge; however, after arriving and finding the home temperature at a bitter 53 degrees, our hopes were dashed. The HVAC system was not working in the entire house. Mercifully, the rental company brought out 6 space heaters to keep in the bedrooms. We were happy to see the HVAC technician the next day. Unfortunately, he was sent without any access codes, so he was delayed by 45 minutes. After he finally was able to access the unit, he corrected the problem on the unit that served the main floor and upstairs. The unit for the basement never worked the entire time - thank goodness there was a gas fireplace. On Saturday night, the hot water went out while a guest was showering. She had to wait until the next morning for the hot water tank to reheat. Had we not encountered these problems, it would have been lovely. Unfortunately, the chain of events made our stay quite bitter.

Comfy beds and very good mountain views
Location of home is fantastic. Paved roads. Trees have been shaped for better views. Plenty big enough for our large family. We stayed during a snowstorm and did not lose power. Next day was a beautiful sight to behold. Property sleds were happily used by my grandchildren. Game room was fun yet we couldn’t get the video game to work. The movie room worked well. Children’s play nook was another big plus and it was disappointing in reality. It’s being used to store cribs. Whole house is dusty. Upon arrival, filthy toilets. Kitchen appliances functioned as they should. Redundant kitchen items taking most of the cabinet space left no room for our pantry items as there is no designated pantry. Main fireplace functions perfectly and the one provided starter log and stacked firewood were appreciated. Bring your own water and ice if you book early 2025 as the refrigerator ice machine was sending out brown ice. Must be from Helene outages. We were not warned. Lines that run a lot of water were clear. Hot tub works great. Many aspects about the furniture and supplies in the home need updating. Upholstered furniture is dirty. We brought our own throw blankets and used those to cover the red chairs. Many areas of the home are roomy. Areas where empty shelves are needed for renters, such as the kitchen/laundry rm, are full and cluttered. Good dialogue w/ agents pre arrival. Uber Eats delivers here.

We so appreciate your feedback. Please know that your points regarding the home are being addressed and it is our fondest hope that we can welcome you back to our home again so to see for your self the improvements.
We are a group of 9 friends, ages 68 - 73, who enjoyed our 4-night stay. The beds were great; there was room in the living room for enough comfortable seating for all of us after we temporarily moved 2 chairs up from downstairs; the kitchen was well-stocked (the bowl and fork issues noted in other reviews had been resolved, although there still isn't an electric can opener); the 2 tables each seat 10 people. The furnishings are in good shape. The hot tub was clean & its temperature was nice & hot. The bathrooms (5) were nice; the upstairs (3 bedrooms, 5 people) has only one bathroom, but the main floor non-dedicated bathroom also had a shower. The house had been satisfactorily cleaned. We're actually giving the house 3 & 1/2 stars, because although the weather got down into the 30's at night, we couldn't get the Nest-type thermometer to maintain 70 degrees - it kept reverting to a setting of 59 degrees a few minutes after being set. We were following the directions given by the office to set it, and several of our members were familiar with using this type of thermometer. We'd estimate that the actual temperature of the main floor was in the mid-to-upper 60's during most of the days, low 60's on arising until mid-mornings. This would have been less of an issue if the wood fireplace in the living room has been usable, but it had been filled with plastic cacti and a cheap set of battery-operated "candles" with dead batteries, clearly indicating that the fireplace was not to be used, which was a real disappointment. We used blankets from the main-floor hall closet and our own personal lap blankets to stay warm. The kitchen and kitchen dining area were warm enough due to cooking, but the bedrooms were pretty chilly. The LR thermometer controls the entire house. We didn't use the small outside gas "fireplace" as the tank was old & rusted & there were no operating instructions - it felt unsafe to try it. Some members felt that the house needs maintenance (main microwave is out-of-order (a smaller countertop model was present); messy, dirty garage; wood trim needs re-nailing in the LR over the window; an upstairs closet door is difficult to operate and then couldn't be closed; the main floor bathroom door needs trimming (big scrape on the floor where it's dragging). Although these things did not detract from our enjoyment, they caused some to gripe about the cost. An informational notebook needs to be provided.

Great location and views. Carolina Cabin Rentals was super fantastic in responding and accommodating our request and concerns.
House is really neat layout. Home needs supplies in kitchen which CCR addressed.
This home had everything in it to make you feel comfortable while away from your own home. I really appreciated the availability of a real person to speak to when I had questions. We would definitely stay here again
The house is lovely, the view is breathtaking. Our only complaint is that there were not enough bowls for our Brunswick stew dinner. We had to go out and buy disposables. Still, we would go again, and would definitely recommend it.
Really a nice quiet location and house, even though Google maps has no clue how to get there, CCR sent out written directions that were helpful. The house was clean when we arrived and everyone one was very pleased with the three levels and the bedroom/bathroom options for each family. The game room was a big hit for the older kids and adults when we were not out enjoying the many attractions in the area. What we really did appreciate was the thoughtfulness of providing for very young children with a couple of cribs and step stools along with the kids nook for the in between age children. The decor was nice and did not have to move items higher out of reach for our smallest toddlers. The kitchen was well equipped and served our group of 16 well. Overall a great place to stay and enjoy family and the many attractions in the area.
The house suited our group nicely. We liked the privacy that this house afforded us, it felt like we were the only ones on the mountain….other than the deer. Lots and lots of deer.
We loved that we could walk to the Emerald Outback trailhead where there was a hike suitable for anyone in our group. We walked up the mountain too and enjoyed having a drink at the bar on Beech Mountain ski slopes. Easy and pretty. We stayed over July 4th and the Beech Mountain fireworks we’re directly outside the house which was wonderful of course.
The house is showing its use and could use some attention. Prior reviews mentioned the need to have better cleaning and I agree with that as well. Neither of these things would deter me from renting the property again.
We had an issue with the hot tub and the rental company communicated with us diligently to try and resolve. I was pleased with their attention to the matter.
In all, the house accommodates a large group easily and I would stay here again.
Our family of 4 (3yo and 7yo) traveled with another family (1 yo, 6yo twins). There was PLENTY of room, bedrooms, and bathrooms for all of us. The kitchen was stalked with everything we need to cook and prepare a variety of meals. The washer and dryer were used often -it was nice to have them and easily accessible. The movie room, upstairs playroom and basement were loved by all of the kids (and adults -kept the kids pretty busy!). The view was amazing...they aren't kidding about needing chains -the road to the home is no joke. The view is worth it! Would recommend to multiple families looking for a mountain home getaway.
We enjoyed our NC ski vacation staying at Mile High Lodge. We had three families there with a total of 6 kids and everyone fit comfortably. The house was well equipped with lots of extras and sleeping arrangement options. We had some issues with the hot tub, but communication with the property management was good, which we appreciated. The views are fantastic and the home feels comfortable, safe and private.
