About this property
Porter's Perch A Cozy Yurt Tucked into the Woods
A rustic yurt, nestled back in the woods on the outskirts of town. It is named after a beloved dog, Porter. Access to electricity and a mini fridge. Test out your rustic living abilities with this cute little spot. Running water is not available but showers are available at the harbor and campgrounds in downtown Seward, several miles away. The bathroom is a very rustic outhouse with a curtain. It has electric a space heater, and a fan and stays nice and cozy during the cooler nights. You have access to a fire pit (when there is no burn ban in effect, and please use responsibly) and picnic table. The yurt is on the same property as my house, so expect some children’s toys in the yard, a friendly border collie, and a five year old running around the property. This is not the Ritz, but it is cozy and comfortable for anyone looking for something affordable, yet rustic. Please no fish cleaning in the yurt or on the property. We are trying to keep the bears away!

About the host
Hosted by Kayce James

I am a busy mom who also owns and operates a small scenic rafting company in Cooper Landing, as well as makes and distributes the Mountain Men of Alaska calendars. I may not even be around much due to the river guiding, but hopefully I'll get to meet you during your visit. I have a border collie naked Ducky, who will likely come visit you at some point (if you don't like dogs this may not be the property for you) and my six year old daughter will likely also be around to say hello.
Why they chose this property
It's shaded and has been a safe place to raise my little family.
What makes this property unique
I love living in this neighborhood. There are a bunch of amazing rentals in town, but I think the location helps you escape a bit of the hustle and bustle of downtown, but most things in town are within a 5-10 minute drive.
