About this property

Rare 4BR 2BA lakefront home. Unobstructed views. Quiet street. Fully equipped.

Enjoy picturesque, peaceful, waterside living on Great Sacandaga Lake (GSL), with 50' of SE-facing lakefront.

Your two-level, 4BR 2BA lakefront home sits on a quiet, dead-end street off North Shore Rd. Relish spectacular, unobstructed lake views on two levels, all just a few steps from the water. No road to cross. No trucks to listen to all day. No traffic or telephone wires obstructing your view. It's just you and the sun and the water, and every convenience.

The main level has 3 bedrooms (Queen, Full, Twin), a full bathroom, kitchen, a large patio with gas grill off the kitchen, living room, a full-width enclosed porch directly facing the water, and an expansive new Trex deck (2024) off the porch. The lower level – with its own private entrance - includes a studio apartment with its own kitchen, bedroom area (Queen), full bath, living/dining area with futon (full), and a massive open-air porch. A full-size washer and dryer are on the lower level.

The upper level sleeps 5, the lower level sleeps 4. Perfect for families large and small, and great for anyone who needs to create separate living space for two family generations.

Amenities include TWO fully equipped kitchens, with all the dishes, pots and pans, utensils, spices, and basic necessities you will need; a new gas grill (2023); 50' of private waterfront with swimming area and new 50' dock (2024), free use of a variety of watercraft; washer/dryer; heat and A/C. There's even a large private outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. And if you need to work remotely, the lower level sports a comprehensive virtual office setup with 3 27” UHD monitors, camera and mic, a wifi color printer/scanner, and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) to protect your computer and keep internet service up in the event of a power outage.

So many opportunities to enjoy your home and its ideal setting. Walk down the terraced lawn and a dozen steps and you're in the water. Wade in at the waterline, or jump off the deep water dock. Go for a paddle in the two kayaks or a row in the dinghy provided for your use. When you want to dry off, relax on the dock, lawn, or on the large upper deck that all bask in full sun exposure most of the day. Read a book in the shade of the expansive lower level, open-air porch. On both levels, enjoy completely unobstructed views of the water and Adirondack foothills beyond. On crisp Adirondack mornings, turn on a little heat and enjoy your coffee on the enclosed porch dining area that bathes in warm breakfast sunshine. On the rare, too-hot day, enjoy the all-day shade of the lower-level porch or cool off in the living room in the comfort of air conditioning. Have a big family? Split up, with some downstairs and some upstairs, each with their own fully-equipped kitchen.

You have a perfect location on a quiet, dead-end street on the less-busy north end of GSL. And yet, you’re only 10 min to a hike up Hadley Mountain, 15 min to Hadley or Corinth for grocery shopping and white water rafting, 30 min to Northville for ice cream and antiquing, 30 min to Glens Falls / Lake George for shopping, dining, extreme water sports, and every imaginable entertainment, and less than 45 min to Saratoga Raceway and Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Even the Albany airport is just an hour away. At your house at the lake, you're a world away from it all but close to everything. Can't beat that.

About the host

Hi. We're Andy and Rebecca. Originally from upstate NY, we currently live in Maryland, but we've been coming up to GSL like clockwork for over 50 years. The perennially clean water, mountains, sunshine, fresh air, and family bring us back to this little piece of paradise year after year. After a decade of searching for the right place to buy to make our own, we finally found it in this home. On the water, on a quiet street. Not too big, but not too small. Not ostentatious, but not rustic. Perfect for our family, and perfect for others as well. Welcome to our home. After vacationing at this lake for half a century, I can assure you there is hardly a better place to be, and hardly a better property at which to enjoy your time here.

Why they chose this property

Why this property? I challenge you to find one that can match it:
* Waterfront / Lakeside (not across the busy and loud North Shore Rd.) with 50' of private waterfront, including a dock and swim area.
* Two-level living, with a full apartment on the lower level. Great for large or split-families.
* Fully enclosed porch with beautiful, unobstructed views on the upper level.
* Large deck on the upper level with the same stunning view.
* Even larger lower level open air porch on the lower level with the same view. Perfect for enjoying shade on a hot day and a thunderstorm on a wet one.
* Boats for your use - row boat, kayaks
* Fully equipped kitchens (two) with all the dishes, pots and pans, and even spices you might need.
* 4BR, 2BA
* A/C / heat
* For the working vacation, the lower level has a fully equipped virtual office setup with 3 27" UHD monitors, HD camera & mic, wireless color printer, and UPS power for continuous internet service even in a power outage. It's an office with a view, and quietly removed from the rest of the family upstairs.
* Things you WON'T find here: Traffic noise. A road to cross. A billion stairs to the beach. Trees or power lines obstructing your views or sunshine. Hassles. Stress. Anything missing. :)

What makes this property unique

What's great about this place? The quiet. The views. The access to the water. The lawn. It's hard to decide which of the great places to be. On the porch looking out the window at the lake? On the deck in the sun? On the lower level porch in the shade? On the lawn with your feet in the grass? On the dock with your feet in the water? In the water, swimming? On the kayak on the lake? Or, heaven forbid, working in the virtual office. Spend a week here and you won't have used all the great spots more than once.
