The property inside and out was very nice. We loved the outdoor space most of all. The creek out front was lovely and the patio out back was amazing as well. The proximity to Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Elk Knob was perfect along with great wineries and breweries. The cool weather made it especially nice as we traveled from really hot weather areas.
It is a lovely home with an amazing creek out front. The house was well appointed and communication with the owners was great. Definitely will be staying again.
This was a great, rustic little house. Everything you would need for a weekend stay in the mountains. Will definitely be coming back sometime in warmer weather to enjoy the porch overlooking the beautiful creek
Decided to take our kids on a vacation for Christmas instead of a bunch of presents. They had a blast and loved it. We also had another family with us with two kids…
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The stream was the icing on the cake. Check in and communication with the manager was great. Do want to make note we had senior aged family join us on this stay and the stream is not easily accessible for them, especially to fish. There is a nice bench however not too far from it.. The windows could use a good cleaning, didn't use the jacuzzi tub due to pink mold in the jets and there were some sort of rodent/bug poop behind furniture especially in the office area. Trash will need to be taken to a dump site that is about 10/15 min away. Other than that overall beautiful cabin and outdoors.
Let's start with the pros- The property is just as listed and the property manager response time was impeccable.
Cons-The interior could use some furniture updating. We had one minor mishap with the plumbing, the upstairs bathtub was leaking into the kitchen. We notified the property manager who responded immediately. This mishap left us with one functional shower/bath for the remainder of our stay. We were also responsible for taking the trash to a local residential dump site which was an inconvenience, especially if you are departing on a Sunday with a check out time of 11am and the nearest dump site opens at 1pm.
This house is in a beautiful location and right on a trout fishing stream. However not sure the cleaning practices are up to par for the price you pay. The dishwasher was left unloaded from previous guests. I felt I needed to rewash these items bc I didn’t know if they were clean or not. There were crumbs left all over the kitchen counter and table. The kitchen floor had not been swept. The cabinets themselves could use a good cleaning. There was a load of wet towels in the dryer. We also found used tissues in one of the bedrooms. Dressers look like they haven’t been dusted in a while.
We have 8 people in our party, two being 10yo. They loved being outside running around, throwing ice at each other and playing in the frigid creek.
The house had plenty of space for all of us and the kitchen literally had all the equipment you’d need for cooking any dish. The cupboards were also full of spices others had left which we greatly appreciated.
Wendy was very communicative throughout the entire stay. We would love to come back, thanks for a great experience.
We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. We watched football and I knitted and listened to the sounds of the creek from the front porch. The kitchen was well stocked. We had a great weekend!!!!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
Very clean but not the greatest location
The house was super clean and cozy. Loved the 2nd floor. Furniture in living room wasn't very comfortable. But no expansive views and the porch looked out onto the road.
