As hosts with over 20 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor because we take a real pride in giving our guests a lovely place to stay, we were really disappointed and bewildered that the house did not meet your expectations in this instance. The April review you mention reflects what all our guests genuinely feel – that Le Clos really is the perfect place to stay – with many returning year after year. Some several times per year! We offered for our Housekeeper to go round to address the few insects you found behind furniture but you did not wish to take up this offer. We will certainly sort the patches of mould on the shower sealant and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Whilst you stayed two nights at the property before departing early, as a gesture of goodwill, we arranged for a full refund without request and hope that this was appreciated. We routinely share a post stay questionnaire with our guests and they always give us the highest rating for cleanliness and quality of fixtures and furniture so we remain somewhat confused by this review. We hope you might return one day and can really enjoy everything that the house, gardens, summer house and region has to offer.
