Nice location / Beautiful setup / Dirty chalet / Poor interaction with owner
First time renting with VRBO and therefore did know what to expect from the experience. Nice location. Beautiful setup. Owner left a bottle of sparkling wine, some music, and was fine with delaying our checkout time by a couple of hours. All nice touches. However the chalet was dirty on arrival (dust, dead bugs in closets, bad smell, used sponge left in the kitchen, dirty bathrooms, spider webs, burnt lamp bulbs, broken bathtub sliding door in one shower, etc.) and the chairs around the fire pit were mostly broken. We shared some constructive feedback with the owner when we left to relay these observations. She responded very negatively and was visibly upset that we raised these points. Then 4 days later, she claimed we used a lot of the wood made available to all renters and charged our party an extra $200 (not clear there was a quota on wood or that we could not use as much wood as we wanted during the stay since we kept the fire on most of the time during the days/ in the evenings since we sat outdoors most of the time), which we said we were fine to pay given we did not know there was a quota on wood. And to top the whole thing, she fabricated lies about the number of people who slept in exceeding the limit (not sure how she would know who slept in - we had 12 people, including 4 kids, per the limit vs. who visited during the day since we celebrated the birthday of our 1-year old niece on Sunday) and made a big deal about the fact that we had two toddlers in our party who left a few marks from crafts/ coloring pens (which is expected for a family friendly chalet and should be easily cleaned by a professional cleaning service) claiming that “we trashed the place” and were “a horrible group”. Besides exaggerating the facts (likely in response to our feedback), these interactions were aggressive, unprofessional, and very insulting to our party. Overall a good experience for a 3-star rated chalet, despite the bitter ending due to the negative experience with the owner (hopefully over now), however the main takeaway is that the chalet should be better cleaned between stays, is definitely aging, and some aspects need an uplift.

Weekend getaway
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The house was very clean, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect; a quiet nature getaway yet only 20 minute drive from Mont Tremblant Village. Gabrielle was great, and was quick to respond whenever we needed anything. Highly recommend!

Nice cottage but lake not so much
Property was very clean, beautiful cottage that is well equipped. Communication with Gabrielle was superbe! Our group was disappointed, however, in the lake and the dock. The lake is more of a large pond and isn’t great for swimming. It’s fine for kayaking and floating around. There are also issues with another owner who owns many of the properties, he spends a lot of time walking around making sure you don’t use any other docks or anything from his property. Wifi isn’t great which is indicated on the add. The cottage only came with one child life jackets and around 8 adult ones. If you’re looking for a getaway in a nice cottage that is located in a wooded area, you’ll be happy! It wasn’t what we were looking for regarding water access.
