Exactly What We Needed

My family and I had a much needed and great stay. The location and private beach access is hard to beat! The interior has clearly been used, but was well kept and clean. We would definitely stay here again. During out stay, we had an issue with the door lock and it was resolved promptly and courteously within a couple of hours. There was also unusually heavy rain and the property is a little lower than the properties around it, so the water puddled up in the driveway to about 18 inches deep in some places. It quickly receded, but I feel it is worth mentioning. Overall a really nice stay, and we hope to be back!

Don't judge a book by its cover

I was concerned as the exterior of the property looked a bit old. This was one of the few properties we could afford that was not a condo and very close to the beach. What we found once we arrived is that while the outside looks very small, the inside is quite bigger than you might expect. We had 5 adults and 2 kids and even on rainy days when we all hung our in the property it never seemed cramped or small. The best thing about this property has to be the location. You have a private deck and walk out to the beach and it was wonderful. A private outdoor shower is available to rinse off sand as well as a nice little garden hose. This is great with kids. The deck furniture was premium material and incredibly strong. On the inside, the bedrooms were fine. There were TVs in each though we never used them. The living room/dining room was fine. The couch looked older, but was quite comfortable. The kitchen is another strength. While the kitchen is not huge, its incredibly well appointed. There were many options of pots and pans. This was great as we cooked many of our own meals while we were there. The laundry in the kitchen is a bit annoying as the washer and dryer go at such speeds that they shake the counters. The only thing that I think really needs to be addressed is the smoke alarm over the door. It was incredibly sensitive. Just using the toaster to toast bread would cause it to go off. All in all, this was a great place to stay and I'd happily go back. Perfect for our vacation. Location to the beach is excellent. The surrounding area is excellent and not crowded or touristy.

The owners are replacing the living room and dining room furniture in May, as well as having the landscaping and parking area redone (they just replaced the bedding earlier this year). We are glad you enjoyed the outdoor decks and showers - these were just rebuilt earlier this year, as well as the complete re-roofing of the house. The washer and dryer in the kitchen is reminiscent of the European style; thanks for letting us know of the vibration. Also thanks for letting us know about the smoke detector - we have had our maintenance guys take a look to see if there is anything that can be done to prevent it from going off while cooking.
