Beautiful Villa

Such a great place to stay. Very relaxing and the perfect way to decompress after being in Rome. Marco has a beautiful property and Suni was an all star in assisting us while we were there. Grilled steaks on the grill, pizza in the pizza oven. Steam rooms, gorgeous pool, and excellent kitchen to make home cooked meals each night. Hope to be back.

Mrs

Superb holiday in a beautiful home & villa, very well looked after by the fabulous Sunny who is a real asset to this property. We loved the outside spaces, pool, views, landscape, proximty to train station for an easy commute to Rome & lots of supermarkets for easy self-catering. We would recommended days in Rome & Tivoli. This was a special holiday. Thank you.

Stellar locale

Marco‘s property or second to none! The wonderful Dr. up the laneway to the roundabout in front of the most stunning house. The wonderful porch. Leads into the house to magnificent living area. The four bedrooms upstairs or ideally located in the house was always a wonderful temperature with great air conditioning available when needed! The outside grounds and of course the pool are stunning. The staff to help look after the house could not have been better. They made sure the pool was ready each day that the grounds were immaculate and the house maintained to exquisite detail. Not only do we all firmly recommend but we look forward to spending another vacation at the property in 2026.

Very good property, however mattresses and pillow were bad, very uncomfortable. Kitchen was not good. Living room and kitchen did not have air conditioning. Listing said that house came with washer and dryer. The washer was in the main building and the dryer was in another small building about a block away inside the property.

Dear Miguel, we're glad you enjoyed the property. We're sorry you weren't happy with the mattresses and pillows; we've opted for orthopedic products, which may seem uncomfortable but are more health-friendly. In any case, if you had told our caretaker your preference, we could have provided you with comfortable toppers, which are available if needed. Regarding the kitchen and living room, the numerous windows ensure adequate ventilation and the necessary air exchange to eliminate kitchen odors, and the proximity to the air-conditioned dining room made air conditioning unnecessary. We find it strange that you weren't happy with the kitchen, as it has never received any criticism in over 10 years of hosting guests. We'd therefore be happy to receive your suggestions for improvements. Regarding the washer and dryer, the caretaker on the property is also available to provide this service in the dedicated laundry room upon request without any problem. We regret that your short stay of only 4 nights did not give you time to familiarize yourself with the property and fully appreciate its qualities. Your future stay with us will be an opportunity for us to offer you all the best attention and help you appreciate our property.

A magical escape within the reach of the city

**Title: Perfect Family Retreat Near Rome with Luxurious Spa and Wonderful Caretaker** Our family of four (two adults and two children, aged seven and four) had an unforgettable seven-day stay at this stunning property near Rome. The villa’s serene and expansive grounds were perfect for relaxation, and the on-site spa was a luxurious treat after our city adventures. Sunny, the on-site caretaker, was incredibly attentive and made our stay even more special with his warm hospitality and helpful recommendations. The large, tranquil property provided the perfect balance of adventure and peace. The Wi-Fi was excellent, allowing us to stay connected when needed. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring we were well-rested for our daily excursions. Every detail of the house was thoughtfully designed, making it feel like a true home away from home. Nearby Zagarolo (and San Cesare) was a delightful town with fantastic restaurants and supermarkets, making it easy to gather all the groceries we needed for cooking. We loved exploring the local eateries and enjoyed the convenience of having everything so close by. Highly recommend this haven for families looking to explore Rome while enjoying luxurious amenities and exceptional service.

Senny the groundskeeper and main contact was helpful and available for assistance at any time. We had a couple of instances where the door blue shed and we were locked out of our room and he made every effort to help us get back in the outside grounds of the house are very beautiful and well-maintained and the pool was well capped. The layout of the house was spacious and very comfortable for our guests.

Beautiful House but disappointing end to our holiday

The house is simply beautiful, spotlessly clean and very practical. The kitchen has every tool needed to cook a 3 course meal. Sani who leaves in the grounds was very attentive to our needs yet very discrete. All went really well until 4 days after we left when we received a mail saying that our sun creams had marked the pool resulting into a very onerous damage. As guests we were blamed for using sun creams! It was very upsetting to be told we could be liable but for me it was even more upsetting given the surreal cause attributed to the damage. After a few days the issue was resolved by the owner but I didn’t appreciate the manner in which it was dealt with. There was also a mistake in the handling of a request for an extra night for which I received no apology. Overall a good experience, which could have been fantastic had the pool issue been handled better.

HAPPY TO HAVE YOU AS A GUEST, THANK YOU FOR YOUR REVIEW. For the problem of the swimming pool, this is the first time for us too after many years. We are happy to have solved it with the intervention of the pool technicians who attributed the problem to a probable chemical reaction between the components of the solar product and those used for cleaning the pool. Unpredictable things that can happen. For the payment of the night, there was an error by VRBO in the calculations made during the booking phase, having counted one less day of stay. Therefore, the payment concerns the day of stay not counted, so even if VRBO is responsible for the error, we sincerely apologize. Hoping to have you back as our guests, it will be a pleasure to give you a better treatment

Italian paradise!

Our week in Zagarolo was amazing! The home exceeded our expectations and Sani, the caretaker, was very attentive to our needs. After a busy day in Rome, it was wonderful to return to the peace of the countryside and enjoy the pool in the evening. We explored the village of Zagarolo and found wonderful places to eat and shop. We highly recommend Domus Flavia to anyone considering a trip to Italy who wants avoid the congestion of Rome.

Sublime and gracious

Marco's property is a gem, and every part of our stay was perfect. The on-property-host, Sunny, went above and beyond, and yet was in no way intrusive. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and tended. The pool was very clean. The home felt attentively and sumptuously appointed, and was difficult to leave. There are original modern paintings and photographs throughout. Everything was clean and sparkling, the beds were excellent, the a/c worked perfectly, and the kitchen was completely equipped (we made dinner there for 6 and there was not a single piece of equipment missing or out of place.) In addition, the property is very close to the train station, an easy 25 minutes into Rome by train. The town is charming and has an incredible restaurant where we were also welcomed as family. In sum, this felt like staying in an excellent hotel-quality resort, but with plenty of room to stretch out and relax. We were with 3 generations and we all want to go back and visit absolutely as possible! The house is a little difficult to find but once you're there you forget about that. Bravo Marco and thank you for sharing your property with the world.

Hidden estate in Zagarolo

Our group of six stayed here for 5 nights in June and the property and house is amazing. It's a little difficult to find, but you have a view of the hills surrounded by trees and lush landscaping. It's quiet and serene, really like being in the country--we regularly heard a peacock, roosters and a donkey. The house is expansive and has three levels. It is casually but well decorated and feels like a home. There are several places outdoors to sit and relax--on the patio, by the pool, at the outdoor kitchen. There is a property manager/caretaker who lives on the premises and is there should you need anything, which was very helpful. There is a separate apartment away from the main house that we also used and it is great--has its own hot tub and spa amenities. Zagarolo was a nice escape from the busy hustle of Rome and we're glad we chose to stay here.

An exceptional home in a beautiful area of Italy!

From the moment we walked in the entrance to Domus Flavia, we were thoroughly impressed. The interior decor was upscale yet warm and inviting and all whom we encountered were all very pleasant and accommodating. This is a beautiful home in a spectacular location in Zagarolo, Italy. The main house and guest house are beautiful, well maintained and the staff is exceptional (We love Sani!!). Everything was fantastic for our trip to paradise. Many thanks to you Marco!!

A truly wonderful stay in a beautifully secluded villa

A rating of 5 stars is simply insufficient to describe the amazing experience my family and I had during our recent visit to the superb villa, Domus Flavia, which is on the outskirts of Rome in a small village known as Zagarola. The literal translation of Domus Flavia is “the vast residential complex of the Roman Emperors”, and in every sense of the word we felt like Roman nobility! On our arrival at the airport we were greeted by our private transfer, which was arranged for us by the very helpful property coordinator, Maria Teresa. When we arrived at the villa, following the 30 minute transfer, we had the warmest of welcomes from both Maria and the resident housekeeper, Sani, and can truly say that nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Our guided tour of the villa was totally breath-taking and exceeded our expectations at every level. The facilities, and indeed the marvellous pool and grounds, are just too amazing to describe in words alone. This villa, together with the hospitality that we received throughout our stay, simply classes it as a true gem! The property is spotless throughout, and you can feel the care and attention which has gone into its preparation for renting out as a beautiful holiday home. Sani is such a friendly, charming and happy individual which only added to the wonderful experience we had from start to finish. We were very sad to leave, but will I'm sure make a further visit in the not too distant future. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to taste the experience of it all. With a short walk to the local train station, it is ideally located for those wishing to visit Rome and the outlying areas. Enjoy!!

A wonderful luxury house

We had a really fantastic stay at Domus Flavia. The house is really beautiful and immaculate, it was extremely clean and everything is finished to a very high standard. The house has been decorated very stylishly with lovely big rooms and wonderful views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. The gardens were very big and exceptionally maintained. The pool area was so lovely, with nice relaxing sun loungers and tables, chairs and umbrellas. Sani who lives in the staff accommodation looked after us all very well, and every morning would put out the cushions and towels and clean the pool and generally keep everything looking very smart. We all really enjoyed staying here and would certainly recommend it. Thank you to Maria Teresa for welcoming us and saying goodbye too.
