About this property
Elk Ridge cabin with great views near Yellowstone
Just the right amount of rustic, this cabin is also quite secluded with a few neighbors, including deer, elk, foxes, eagles, hawks, magpies, blue birds, finches, gophers, and more! Located with an awe-inspiring view of the mountains and so close to Yellowstone and Chico Hot Springs, and the western town of Livingston. Livingston and Emigrant offer nice dining, breweries, an array of art galleries and other unique shops. Chico`s pool is outdoors, wonderfully clean as water is fresh every day.
It is quaint with its knotty pine interior, river rock fireplace and custom log bed! It`s setting is perfect to create an awesomely memorable visit. You may come to visit Yellowstone Park, but you may find that you won`t want to leave the cabin! Hideabed has got a newer plush mattress to make our guests more comfy.
Apple and Bing maps have the neighborhood streets wrong, so please be attentive to my directions and map that I send you. Weber gas BBQ, outdoor fire pit, washer and dryer, WIFI (12-20 MBPS) and satellite television, heat and air conditioning, gas fireplace logs for ambiance in the evenings. Birdseed for the bird feeder, spotting scope. Firewood and propane are provided. Smoking outside please.
Minimal, yet nearby if needed. We live on the way to the cabin and if we see you arrive, we may just check in to see if all is wonderful! We are sensitive to your privacy, yet always available by phone, text, or in person, if needed.
Its location in the valley with great views in all directions, quiet, peaceful area not too far off of a paved road. Love seeing wildlife every day, yet close to town and Yellowstone Park, fishing and hiking within 15 minutes. During wintertime, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, dog-sledding, snowmobiling are a short distance away!
Car, motorcycle or bicycle. Free bus from Livingston to Bozeman on weekdays. Uber now available in the area and Bozeman.
Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of $10 each day to a maximum of $45 for a week. Longer stays or more dogs will be slightly more. The 8% Montana accommodations tax is included in the price. We request that dogs not be left in cabin without approval of the host. Host does have medium size crates available. If you are booking more than 10 months into the future, host has right to confirm prices as occasionally calendars go into automatic pricing which is not reflective of peak season pricing. Thanks for your understanding. HOUSE RULES
1. Please use the large wall-mounted heater as the main source of heat. This heater is separately metered at 50% off the normal electrical rate. The smaller heaters are to be used when outside temperatures are below 20 degrees. Set the temperature at 70 degrees when leaving and turn the AC off. 2. Only smoke outside with the door and/or windows closed. 3. Campfires when there is little to no wind. 4. In the winter when temperatures are below 40, one must use the smaller electric heaters. The button is on the top right. Put at 3 to 4 o-clock position for temperatures below 30. 5. Dogs are allowed, small fee of $25 to $75 depending on length of stay. 6. Tidy up, wipe counters, please make sure dishes or glassware are clean. 7. Please clean up pet poop directly around the cabin. 8. Use the fireplace for ambiance a few hours a day at most. It is not efficient for heating. 9. Please no feminine products, wipes, or paper towels are to be flushed. These items clog our septic system. 10. PLEASE DON’T REBOOT THE ROUTER. WE HAVE A SYSTEM THAT COMMUNICATES THROUGH A RADIO TO OUR HOME, SO THEY NEED TO BE BOOTED UP SEPARATELY. SEND Steve a message if you are having an issue. (We do have a Verizon Hotspot as a backup.) 11. Feel free to pay it forward in two ways…1. leave your Yellowstone receipt for the next guest, and 2. Start a load of laundry for our housekeeper. Please strip the sofa bed if you use it. 12. Garbage and recyclables go in the garage. Glass is not recyclable in our area. 13. No ATV’s, shooting of guns, or fireworks! Thanks!

About the host
Your host
I love to travel and have had a dream of owning a small resort with cabins and now I am enjoying a version of that in hosting cabins near Yellowstone Park and homes and condos near Scottsdale and Surprise in Arizona. I was born in Snoqualmie, Washington and have lived around the Seattle area during college and afterwards, sold real estate with Windermere in Bellevue and Kirkland. Than I discovered Paradise Valley.
