My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Gray's Cottage. It was very clean. and a well stocked kitchen with essential dishes and appliances. The location was in a quiet area and close to everything. We could walk to the beach, downtown, art gallery and hop on our bikes to ride the Betsie Valley Trail right from the cottage. Had a wonderful week and would definitely consider staying at Gray's Cottage again.

Thank you Dave. So glad to hear you enjoyed Gray's Cottage and all the Frankfort has to offer. Hope to see you again.
Wonderful property, steps from beautiful Lake Michigan!
We had a wonderful time at The Cottage. The place was outstanding for our family. Extremely clean and well stocked for the stay. Denise was readily available and very accommodating for all of our needs. The only thing we'd change is better planning to stay longer.
Thank you very much Denise. We plan to come back again soon!

Thank you so much Steve. You were great guests and it warms my heart to know you had such a great time. Hope to see you again.
6 nights, 7 days at height of summer season
Bed sheets mediocre quality
Very flimsy toilet paper
No salt & pepper provided
2nd floor “bath” is just a sink
Otherwise it was a cute clean cottage
We came from Texas to stay in northern Michigan for 6 nights... a long way and a much-awaited family reunion trip. I made the reservation to stat at Gray's cottage half a year ahead of time and Ms. Denise took my money 4 months in advance. I emailed back and forth with Ms. Denise the week before our arrival including our exact dates. Ms. Denise overbooked. She called me at 10pm the night before we were to stay -- yes, 10pm the night before, when we were already in MI-- to tell me the cottage was unavailable. She was initially very apologetic and helped to find a motel situation for us. The motel she found was totally inappropriate for a family (not enough beds, literally on a busy highway out front and a swamp in the back)...Ms. Denise never checked to see if we were okay/set. The motel manager took pity on us and moved us to a different, more appropriate motel property... and the next day, even more unbelievably, Ms. Denise called me to demand more money from me to cover our stay at the 2nd motel. Not a nice cottage on Lake Michigan were we could all be together as I booked but a motel in a different town where we had to stay in separate rooms (still with not enough beds)... she did not refund our money for her mistake but got belligerent with me and amazingly, told me I should be grateful she helped me find a place and demanded more money (I found out she lied about the price of the motel to get more money out of me). I booked the cottage because it looked great for a family and Ms. Denise had great reviews. Maybe this was a blip or off time for her. All I can say is she was very unethical with me and if you book, I suggest you triple check your reservation.

It was a terrible overbooking situation for Alyse at Gray's Cottage. In the 12 years we have been managing Gray's Cottage this has never occurred. We felt horrible about disrupting their vacation. Once we discovered the overbooking we attempted to locate another location. Unfortunately, for that week the only thing that was available was a resort motel. Once Alyse agreed to stay at the resort motel, Gray's Cottage paid $2500 for their stay. The $2500 included our portion of their initial payment to Gray's Cottage of $1628 and an additional $872 in an attempt to remedy the overbooking. It appears there was a serious misunderstanding with Alyse in the conversation relaying the resort motel payment. We never requested additional payment to Gray's Cottage. For that I sincerely apologize. I was unable to clarify this misunderstanding as Alyse requested I not ever contact her. I have honored her request. We feel terrible about the overbooking. We did our best to remedy the situation and have implemented new procedures to make sure this never happens again. Again, our sincerest apology to Alyse and her family.
