Great location! Kitchen was well-equipped and the house is easy to navigate. Bonus points for having a main floor bedroom for folks with a harder time navigating stairs.
We had an amazing time for our stay in Niantic.
The hosts Kim and Kent were wonderful.
The house had so many items for us to use that made our stay even easier. We had a great family vacation and would love to return again!
My friends and I loved our time staying at this great, spacious, well-equipped house. The view and location were wonderful and there was so much to explore within a short distance. We hope to come back!
Kent and Kim are great hosts. Lovely property with lots of room for lots of family. We went for a burial at sea for my mother who grew up with a cottage in the area and was one of her favorite places to be. They had everything needed for a great stay. We will be staying again.
We really enjoyed this comfortable spot directly on the ocean. Lots of bedrooms and beds for the whole gang. The owners could not have been more lovely. Sitting on that deck with morning coffee was a moment of heaven. Well done!
This house was an ideal location for a getaway with friends. The view is unbelievable. The water is so clear and was warm for us. My favorite part was hearing the sounds of the ocean when we walked in. We had everything we needed and then some. Kim was also very accommodating and helpful. Already hoping we can come back next year!
This was a wonderful place to spend our annual family reunion. The beachfront for the little ones and the proximity of the town for the older ones were perfect for our group of varied interests. The kitchen supplies and ample table space for both dining and boardgames were much appreciated. We hope to be back. Thank you to our hosts.
This house was perfect for our out-of-town guests to stay as they joined us for our wedding weekend! The house is fabulously placed right on the beach in Nintic, nd it felt like we were on a tropical vacation when my (new) husband and I relaxed on the sand after all of our guests left. Thank you for being so sweet, and providing a great place for us to hang out with our people during our favorite weekend ever!
The accommodations were phenomenal! The house felt very homey and comfortable. The note and goodie basket were an unexpected nice welcome! The outdoor shower is awesome! There was nothing lacking that we needed during our stay.
Overall- we had a fabulous time, and the house is great!
Thank you so much!
Kim and Kent were fantastic hosts; very communicative and incredibly helpful! We were in Niantic for our son’s wedding and this property was absolutely perfect for us. We wished that we had more time to enjoy the home and area, but wedding duties called. Kim was amazing when we departed, and even mailed us back a swim suit that one of our guests left at the property. Overall we highly recommend this property and these owners…beautiful location and wonderful hosts!
This was our second time staying here and we loved it once again. The location is absolutely perfect, the porch overlooking the beach is great, there are places to eat within walking distance, and we had room for our whole giant family.
We had trouble with the refrigerator not keeping our food cool, which was a big bummer, we lost quite a bit of perishables. This is not at all the hosts fault, they tried to find a way to have it repaired for us which was so kind.
We would definitely stay here again.
We celebrated our daughter’s 30th birthday at this wonderful home. It offered breathtaking views of the ocean, and it provided so many additional amenities, such as an outdoor grill, kayaks, and a rowboat.
The town of Niantic was quite charming, and we were all mesmerized by our accommodations and the location. Our hosts, Kim and Kent, were very accommodating and even provided us an historical perspective of the home, which was built in the mid 1800s.
About the only drawbacks were a temperamental dishwasher and that the house had only one full bathroom, but we managed.
All in all, we had an outstanding and memorable time.
Found house rustic and cozy, enjoyed by all. Only real concern is not having normal cable TV. We are not computer fans and don't subscribe to other media, so Netflex was a letdown. No one at fault since we discovered that when we got our instructions on the house 3 days before vacation.
If you’re looking for a place that truly feels lived in, this 175-year-old seaside cottage delivers an experience like no other! Nestled in a spectacular location just steps from the shore, the setting is unbeatable—wake to ocean breezes and fall asleep to the sound of waves (and sometimes your neighbors, thanks to the wonderfully historic walls). The home itself is a delightful time capsule, lovingly filled with generations of treasures—an eclectic collection of furniture with real character, and a dizzying array of vintage dishes, pots, and pans that make every meal a scavenger hunt. Every surface tells a story, and you’ll never run out of conversation starters! Those who appreciate the patina of age will love the paneled walls and the charming squeak of every floorboard. It’s a place where you can truly unplug. Light sleepers or those used to modern minimalism might find the ambiance a bit more rustic than they’re used to.In short, if you’re seeking five-star polish, this may not be your perfect match—but for the right traveler, it’s a slice of coastal history in an unbeatable location.
We really enjoyed the beach, sand toys, and kayaks. The outside shower was also a fan favorite! One of the rooms does have an air conditioner which was nice as it can get warm in there. Overall we had a great time.
Great beach house and location. Very easy check in and check out, included all needed extras, chairs, towels, kayaks, games, etc. well stocked... On the beach, lovely view/access and did I mention the location? Would recommend. We had three families, 5 kids between 2-12 and everyone fit and had a lovely time.
The house is big enough for lots of family and friends in a great spot on the beach. Owners were very responsive to any questions or concerns and checking in and out was incredibly easy. Outdoor shower is fantastic!
You might want to consider bringing more fans for hot summer nights. Kitchen gets pretty warm I’d you’re cooking but there’s also a grill for outdoor cooking as well!
We had a great time in our week’s stay.
We had 15 family members plus our graduate (part of the time) staying for 4 nights. We never were cramped for space. We felt welcomed. Their communication was very good. There were plenty of things to do even indoors on the one rainy day. The beach was clean and also welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck. It was beautiful. We will definitely consider returning if we are ever in the area again.
We just love coming back to this home every year. It has everything the family could want for a relaxing get away. Wonderful memories made. Best of all was working with the owners. Thank you and see you in 2022.
Large, spacious house right on the beach with a wonderful porch looking overlooking Niantic Bay.
Very spacious house with lots of room to sit and lounge and two large tables for meals indoors. There is only one bath/shower inside but the outdoor shower was spacious and great during warm weather. The porch overlooking the bay with stairs down to the beach was the crown jewel of the house. The house has lots of indoor games and puzzles as well as kayaks, floats and a paddle board for use on the water. It’s only a short pleasant walk through Crescent Beach Park to get into the town which has some nice shops and a few Restaurants. Had a great week here with the family.
The location was great, the pictures don't make this house justice, so much bigger in person. Fully equipped, we just needed to bring food. First couple days of our stay it was cold so we all enjoyed the board games and paper-planes. When it got warmer, we used the kayaks and the kids played on the beach with all the sand toys they had there already. Mr. Kent is very responsive and made sure to answer all my questions. Overall we had a wonderful time.
Kent and Kimberly were very responsive. The house is well equipped and the location is fantastic. We loved the town of Niantic and the views from the porch and the beach. Our stay in May had cool breezes and chilly nights, but extra blankets and electric heaters made it cozy. A wonderful place with plenty of room for family gatherings. Only 1 1/2 baths, but we’re all family, so we made it work. Overall, a wonderful place to make memories.

About the host
Hosted by Kent McCord
This is a family summer beach house built in 1850 and purchased by the family in 1920. The family still uses it throughout most of the summer, but makes it available for select weeks and off-season weekends to help offset the costs of owning an old home directly on the beach. We hope you can stay!
