We have stayed here several times and will continue to do so. It is such a beautiful and comfortable home. The owners are so thoughtful in how well they have stocked everything (from toiletries to cleaning supplies). The beds and pillows are incredible comfortable! We extended our stay because I haven’t slept that well in years! We were so depressed to leave. It’s a fantastic location, beautiful grounds and just an overall perfect stay.
What an amazing home!! Fully appointed for every need. We stayed a week and used it as a home base from which we explored far and wide. Loved our experience in Chattanooga.
Loved our stay at St. Elmo Farmhouse! We were visiting Covenant College and the home was nearby to everything - cute restaurants in St. Elmo and a 10 min drive into downtown Chattanooga. The home was charming, stylish, clean, and had everything we needed for a long weekend!
We had a wonderful stay at St. Elmo farmhouse! House was well stocked with everything you would need to have a wonderful relaxed vacation. In a great location so close to all that Chattanooga has to offer. Will definitely stay again when we venture back to Chattanooga.
Awesome home, loved the kitchen, the swing in the back, the yard where we could toss the football, and the games they left for us to play outdoors.
Convenient location! Loved our time here.
We had a great getaway to Chattanooga. This house was in a perfect location, convenient to everything. Beautiful historic home. The kids loved the yard and staying in the bunk room. We would definitely do it again!
Perfect central location with room to play outside
We had the best time meeting up with friends for a few nights at this beautiful home. St Elmo is a great location and this home had it all! We will stay again! Best added touch was the espresso machine!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bunk room and all the outside activities were so fun for our 4 granddaughters! Such a cute little slice of history. Highly recommend!!
This is a beautiful property in a great location at the base of Lookout Mountain and 10 minutes from downtown. It was well-stocked with amenities. The outside space was great for kids. Excellent all-around.
Our 2 families stayed in the home to celebrate a birthday. The property was great for both families. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the family to hangout and be together. Close to everything
We had a wonderful 5 day getaway in Chattanooga with our three children, staying at the St. Elmo farmhouse. The property exceeded expectations--it matches the pictures and was comfortable and more convenient than we imagined for our planned adventures. We ate s'mores around the fire in the firepit and hiked Lookout Mountain to Ruby Falls.
Oh my goodness where do we begin to say how perfect the weekend was! The host was extremely accommodating and the location was AWESOME! It was spotless plus the supplies in the home will be beyond what I have ever seen in a VRBO! The outside area was fantastic and we enjoyed building a fire sitting in laughing with the grandchildren! We will definitely be back! A 10 for sure!
My daughters and her bridesmaid had a wonderful weekend. Hiking. Cooking and enjoying the peace and quiet of Chattanooga. Loved the originality of the house we did not want to leave
I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the St. Elmo Farm House! The property is beautifully kept both inside and out, very Clean and Comfortable, all the modern amenities with old word charm. We were in town for our son's wedding. They took photos around the outside of the property, it is that stunning! We couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely book here again next time we are in town.
This house is so beautiful. The owners have updated it yet kept the historical character. We met friends there for a few days in Chattanooga. We are from Indy and our friends from Atlanta. The house is so convenient located near Incline Railway, Rock City and Ruby Falls. St Elmo is a great location to stay. Not far at all from downtown. Great host who communicated throughout check in. Also met the cleaners who were so nicw
We absolutely LOVED this place. The house, the location, EVERYTHING. We spent our mornings in the kitchen nook chatting and sipping coffee. Our late afternoon gathering spot was outside by the fire. Late night chats were had in the parlor. We called for a ride into town and walked and ate until we could stand no more. We also enjoyed the short walk into town for a cup of coffee and a stretch of the legs. A definite re-do for us will be in the books.
Our family had a wonderful three week vacation here. The location is within walking distance of the grocery store and multiple restaurants which offered carry out. The best part was access to so many hiking trails. The house itself is beautiful and filled with so much historic charm. It is stocked with great amenities and small touches that add up to make it feel both comfy and posh. It is as lovely and stylish as it is in the pictures. We were here during COVID and were able to safely and comfortably isolate while accessing so much of the great outdoor offerings of Chattanooga. The owner Karri was so helpful and responsive. We were sad to leave.

Thank you Mary! We enjoyed having you and your family as our guest. We welcome you back anytime.
This house is the cutest! Beds were so comfy! Cookware was in good shape. Plenty of towels. Great location. Kids loved the yard with the zip line and swing. The only thing that didn’t work out for us was the coffee maker. Never could figure it out but there was a French press so we still had coffee. The toilet paper was paper thin but by no means ruined the stay here. We’ll definitely rent this house again!

We love reviews by our guests! Coffee is very important to us and we have three options, a traditional drip coffee maker, Kuerig machine, and a French Press. We supply beans from a local roaster and K-cups. We did stock up on toilet paper when the pandemic started and ordered what we could find, hopefully we can return to our beloved Charmin as we deplete our stock of thin paper.
This was our second time in this lovely home, and there is no doubt that it will become a mainstay in our vacations.
The house is exactly as pictured - meticulously clean with obvious loving attention to detail everywhere you look.
We had the added bonus of enjoying the picturesque holiday decorations that made it so warm and cozy that we didn’t even want to leave the house most of the time!
We went to a park and playground during our visit, but my toddler had more fun running around the expansive property and climbing up the tree deck.
Just as the first time we stayed there, the owner was extremely communicative and went above and beyond. She offered us an early check-in, especially knowing I’m traveling with a little one, so that was much appreciated. We ended up having a car emergency towards the end of our stay, and so we extended a night and she made it an effortless process.
I have stayed at a few other VRBOs during our various trips in different cities, but this is the only home where I have total peace of mind that I’m getting exactly what I booked - in aesthetics, cleanliness and hospitality.
We’ll be back soon and as often as possible!

I have a passion for travel, home renovation and decor. I love old historic homes and bringing them back to life with modern amenities while preserving their architectural heritage and charm. I have been married to my college sweetheart for 24 years. He shares my adoration of old homes. Together we have three children, our oldest graduating from high school this year, 2020. Hopefully, college will start in the Fall so he can pursue his dreams.
Why they chose this property
It was love at first sight with this home. It's a very special property with so much history. The previous owner lived there for over 35 years. The original owners from the late 1800's resided in the home for 55 years and were prominent members of the Chattanooga community.
What makes this property unique
Historic charm, vaulted ceilings, tastefully updated with modern amenities. The grounds are stunning in the Springtime. You are surrounded by over an acre of privacy and mature trees. You will be woken up in the morning by the birds singing.
