SOUNDSIDE Avon - Kinnakeet Shores - Beautiful ocean views delight all who stay in SURFER'S DELIGHT. For a home on the sound side of Avon, this home has an ocean view better than some homes on the oceanside of the village. The beach is just about a 5 minute walk, using a cute little bridge over the lake just 2 lots from the home, then across the road. Bring your kayaks and paddle the pretty lake in the morning or at sunset for a quiet Hatteras Island experience. Inside the home, choose from 3 bedrooms on the first level, one with king bed and private entrance into the hall bath. the other two bedrooms (queen, 2 bunks) share use of another hall bath. Upstairs, a fourth bedroom with queen bed also has a private entrance into the common bath. The great room offers views of the water through plenty of windows brightening the room. A large screen Smart TV provides entertainment as meals are expertly prepared in the kitchen. Dine at the 10 person dining table or in the adjacent screened porch accompanied by island breezes. Delight in sunsets from the deck after dinner and sunrises over the ocean with your morning coffee. A Stair Tamer luggage lift easy work of carrying bags and groceries to the top level. A nice rental

Nice rental very close to the beach and restaurants. There were a couple of small things that were wrong about the house but nothing big enough from stop us from coming back.

Relaxing stay

The property was as expected. It is very well located close to the beach and walking distance to dining and coffee. Was a short drive to Hatteras. The community pool was fun with plenty of shade under the cabanas. Overall a pleasant stay. Truly appreciated the elevator for the bags.

Everything was okay

Property was nice, we enjoyed the experience. Was disappointed that the washing machine didn't work. We packed thinking we could wash clothes and were informed on our drive to the Outer Banks that the washer was broken. Very disappointing. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

The location and set up of yhe house was absolutely perfect for us. It was so nice that each of us had our own full bathroom and the decks and screen porch were great. Beach is super close to walk to and plenty of things close by to do. The cleaning could have been a little more thorough of the house when we arrived and we did request new linens as we had suspicions that the linens on tge beds were not changed. Management was responsive and promptly delivered new linens for us. We did wish that it was a little more "homey". We were left with one extra trash bag, no paper towels, 3 rolls of toilet paper for 3 full bathrooms, one small hand soap for the whole house and one dishwasher pack. All for a week stay. Would have been nice to be a little extra stocked. Did come with plenty of dishes and bakeware and cooking dishes. We tried to leave behind some extra items for the next group so they shouldnt have to go out to the store immediately upon arrival. Overall very nice property, hottub, location and community pool and we had a great week vacation

No hot tub :(

Easy walk to the beach, no frills house which works for the price, but the biggest disappointment was there was no hot tub. And emails to the property management company were not returned to address it. Kids were looking forward to it and thus disappointed.

Great location in Avon

This was our first stay in Avon which we ended up really enjoying. Super close to the pool (which wasn’t crowded and had plenty of parking), the ice cream truck drove through our neighborhood, and the grocery store was less than 1 mile from the house. Food lion was extremely efficient in packing our orders quickly for pickup. The house had a nice hot tub, comfortable beds, and a new washer and dryer. My only complaint was all the chairs on the deck were falling apart and very wobbly. Not enough seating in the living room for the 10 people that this house accommodates. I’m used to living in small quarters so it wasn’t a major issue, but all 10 of us could never hang out in the living room together at the same time. It was still a wonderful trip, everything was in working order. The motorized luggage rack was nice to bring in our stuff and to send our groceries upstairs.

Vacation

Everything was great about our stay from check in to location. The only complaint I have are the mattresses, we all felt like we were sleeping on boxes, and this matters when you think of re-renting the following summer. Also there were no area carpets in the house so it can sound very noisy, other than that everything else was very nice and extremely clean!!

Great vacation spot

House is in a great location, short 5 min walk to the beach. Kids loved crossing the bridge over the pond and seeing the turtles. The house was very clean and maintained well.

Great quiet location

Wonderful house with plenty of dishes & cookware. Neighborhood was quiet & great for walks. We saw several deer during our walks. Beach is about a 5 minute walk. Bed in master bedroom is uncomfortable & extremely squeaky. Luggage lift was a lifesaver! Really enjoyed our week at this property.

Surfer's Delight

We truly enjoyed our stay. The house was close to everything - shops, Food Lion, Post Office, restaurants, etc. I saw all sorts of wildlife - egrets, turtle, deer, goose families, ducks, etc. The neighborhood was quiet. I walked three miles a day along 12. The three of us enjoyed our stay tremendously. We thought we had a problem with a lock and someone was prepared to come to the house and address the issue in less than 24 hours. I would definitely rent this house again.
