We had a group of 12 (adults and older kids/young adults), and the cabin had plenty of space for everyone to spread out comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked with every appliance, pot, and pan you could need, the downstairs beds were super comfortable, and the large outdoor griddle was wonderful for whipping up big batches of breakfast and burgers for our crew. The backyard is completely private, and the water is steps from the back door! The creek had great flow and was much wider than expected. We loved backyard fishing and tying off our floats to lounge in the water. We also did a float down to the cabin—the water was plenty deep with zero dragging or paddling needed. The host was amazing! She proactively reached out offering both early check-in and late check-out. While our schedule didn’t let us take advantage, that level of hospitality is so rare and appreciated.Minor tip: The light switch layout for the outdoor/string lights is a bit of a puzzle, but there was plenty of lighting overall.Highly recommend for large family getaways—we had a blast and would love to return!
Our family had a great time at The Lodge! We really enjoyed the creek being right at the cabin! Owner was awesome! A bear did show up so that was exciting. Beautiful landscaping around the whole property!
We really enjoyed the location and property. We were sad to learn that the hot tub is no longer there. But the kids had plenty of fun in the creek. Great place for a family or even a family and friends because the cabin sleeps so many!
We had a great relaxing time, doing puzzles, having family meals, hanging out in the river, exploring the trails. Was great to be able to bring the dogs for a change. Only cleaning issues was due to the previous renters dogs, but we cleaned that all up nothing with the actual home! They had everything we needed though we brought supplies because we were staying so long with so many people and we didn't want to run out.
Home was neat and clean. Had fun catching fish and playing in the stream and at the waters edge. Ended our days of fun at the fire pit with s’mores.
Had a great evening at the Ellijay American Legion Post. Also, enjoyed playing pickle ball at the rec area in Ellijay.
We had a wonderful time while visiting Ellijjay for a week! The property was just what we needed. We loved fishing, tubing and family firepit time right out back! Ashleigh was a wonderful host and promptly attentive to any need we had or a suggestion on where to go and what to do! We look forward to coming back next year!

Thank you, Sean. You, your adorable children, and your sweet wife are always welcomed back to the cabin.
We had 16 people for two friends’ birthday. We played a fun murder mystery, lounged by the river and fire pit, cooked great group meals including on the outside grill, and just layed around the couches on a rainy day. 10/10.
We have vacationed in the blue ridge area every summer for the last 14 years but this was our first rental in Ellijay. We loved the cabin and especially the easy access to the river. We spent a lot of time sitting in the water, fishing (didn’t catch much) and tubing. Enjoyed the fire pit at night. Plenty of room for relaxing, eating and sleeping for our large party. Enjoyed shopping downtown and the local wineries. We had friends rent the cabin next door which was perfect.
We had a wonderful stay, house was perfect for our family which included 4 kids (ages 1,2,3 and 4). Ashleigh was very sweet and attentive to our needs. The river in the back was the highlight of our trip and offered a lot of options for the kids to use theirs imaginations while the parents sat down and relaxed for a while. Thank you Ashleigh!
We had a group of 19 men and we were blown away by having the stream right out the back door, with the decks bar overlooking the water and the firepit along the waters edge! the kitchen had everything and having the bunk room allowed us to house so many! The owner was sooo helpful and provided us with everything we need and always promptly responded when we reached out! We couldn't recommend this place more! 😊❤️

Ellijay Vacation
House and property are in a great location - ample parking, close to town and restaurants. Listing should be updated to not include a spa as an amenity.
A note of caution about reserving kayaks - even with a confirmation of availability, check again before arrival. Also, the unsubstantiated accusation of early arrival will be addressed with VRBO.
We had such a great time on the river with our two retrievers! It was very secluded. Even though there were other cabins near us, we never saw a single person. Everything was labeled with their intended use which was very helpful. My only feedback would be to consider labeling the light switches. So many lights and switches, it was like a little game every morning and night lol.
We had a great experience at Mountain Creek lodge. It was exactly as described and pictured and Ashley was very communicative and helpful. We rented the house for my mother’s 80th birthday and had 12 family members ranging from 3 to 86. Every member of the family enjoyed the river and there was plenty of room in the house. We especially loved the huge round griddle grill and used it everyday. Ashley gave us tons of extra information about fun things to do and good fishing locations. The fire pit was terrific and the kayaks were well used. We would definitely stay again.

Our kids had a great time and absolutely loved having the creek in the backyard. The property has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, the condition and cleanliness did not match the listing photos or what we expected for the price. The photos should be updated to better reflect the property's current condition. When we arrived, the upstairs shower was dirty with footprints in it. We had to rewash most of the cookware we used because old food was dried on it. The grill was very dirty, soaps appeared watered down, and several areas outside were overgrown. We also found numerous maintenance/safety concerns: a rotting back porch step, several exterior doors that would not lock, a loose shower head that fell when the water was turned on, a very loose bunk-room ceiling fan, a recessed light coming out of the ceiling, outlets and fire pit lights we could not get working, stove igniter issues, and a mini-split that did not seem to cool properly.Ashleigh responded quickly and addressed our concerns. She explained that new doors were already ordered, some items would be inspected, and offered to troubleshoot some issues. She was dealing with a sick child, so we chose not to continue bothering her. However, no one was sent to address the cleanliness or maintenance issues during our stay, and no adjustment was offered. The creek and setting were wonderful, but the home needs a thorough cleaning, repairs, and better attention between guests.
We were wanting to visit a remote area in these uncertain times and not have to leave unless we wanted to or needed more supplies. That’s exactly what you get here at Ms. Ashleigh’s place. Private setting, large home, right on the river! Kids would float down a ways on their tubes and walk back to the cabin. Us adults tied our tubes off for hours of lazy sitting in the cool water and warm sunshine!
We even experienced some mechanical system issues and Ms. Ashleigh did everything in her power to respond and resolve right away.
What a great trip and wonderful family time together!

Thank you, Kevin and Family! Your wonderful and friendly family is always welcomed at the cabin. For a large blended family, I am happy that you were able to gather together and relax in the cold water on hot summer days. Hope you stay there again soon!
Amazing family get together. We were a party of 10 plus some doggies. The location and house setting is beautiful. I have never been at such a well supplied vacation home. From a well stocked kitchen, games, blankets, dog bowls, the fire pit set up etc. So warm and welcoming we felt like we were visiting someones home. Listening to the creek right outside the door was so relaxing. We spent most our time outside fishing, kayaking, playing in the creek and cooking on the grills. Game nights were fun at the large table to seat all of us while others enjoyed the large screen TV. We were able to enjoy local outings to the Farmers Market, Apple Orchard and a Winery. The only thing I would be aware of is the road turns into gravel and can be tricky in a few spots if you have a little car or sports car. Other than that this place is a treasure!
