My wife and I loved this unique bungalow that was tucked in the middle of Tampa! We both felt like it was in a great location to where we could drive to other cities and get to various activities around us! It was perfect for just us two but could also hold so many more guest!
This property was so charming and literally right on the water! The kids really enjoyed kayaking and visiting the nearby zoo. There are a couple really great restaurants nearby, Trips Diner and the sourdough bakery. We had a lot of fun here!
This is a great house right on the water. We saw alligators and manatees. The house is decorated with lovely antiques. The bedrooms and sunroom are large with plenty of space for everyone.
We only stayed one night and got in late and left early so we didn't have time to see the river view or use any of the ammenities. The home was nice and had everything we needed. Communication with the property manager was timely, detailed and without any issues.
This was a beautiful, comfortable and clean home on the Hillsboro River. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is the place for you. The water view is amazing. convenient access to sightseeing in Tampa. Helpful hosts.I would come again and again if i could!

Manatees and dolphins!
Those comfortable with a more rustic accommodation and a few seasonal, typical Florida bugs should check out this unique house. The plus— right on the river. We saw manatees every day and dolphins, birds, lizards and fish. Loved starting our day with a coffee and wildlife spotting.
This was a pleasant surprise! It was my first Vrbo rental and I was pleased with my choice. I wanted something rustic for my group of boys and I did! Being right on the river was amazing and the boys loved watching boats go by from the living area. It was comfortable and beautiful! Perfect for my boys and I was greatful for the experience!
As a large family who wants to do everything and nothing, this place was it. Celebrating my wife's birthday and the kids Spring Break, when all I wanted to do was fish this was the spot. Plenty of room for everyone, close to where we'd plan to visit and I could fish when everyone had enjoyed there day. Kids saw manatees and we caught and released catfish.
Thanks for the hospitility.
This vacation rental was absolutely stunning, the first thing we were greeted to was a beautiful front door with a heron etched on it, then we walked in and there were birds on the walls too making for a lovely decor. The rooms were all clean with towels and candy laid out to welcome us, which brought a smile to my face. The back patio overlooking the river was so peaceful and relaxing to hang out at too. The beds were all very comfortable to sleep in, the only thing I wish the rental had was blinds on the front of the house, other than that we very happy. Overall would definitely stay again !

Not great if you are traveling with kids
The hosts are great! Super communicative! If it were based on the hosts only, I’d easily give five stars. Unfortunately, the house was not cleaned well when we got in and there were feces on the toilet, dirty dishes, and spilled candy on the floor. We also saw several roaches in the house, but it’s to be expected with it being on a river. The floor was also dirty. The kiddos feet turned black while walking on the floor so we had to go out and buy them house slippers. We couldn’t wait to checkout and go back home.

Sandra attempted to hold a party for 30 friends at our property without asking us. This is an untruthful, retaliatory review based on her dissatisfaction that we would not allow the party , when her guests became so loud the neighbors called us and we had to ask them to disperse and only leave registered guests at the property. Please read our other reviews for an accurate representation of the property.
Wonderful property for a family getaway. The home is spacious with seating and bedrooms for a large family. We spent a lot of time sitting on the back deck watching the birds during the day and enjoying the fire pit at night. Excellent location. We were not far from downtown Tampa and also not far from USF. Loved it!
Home was roomy with plenty of seating. Nice large dining table and kitchen was stocked pretty well. Beds were comfortable and only complaint with bedrooms would be no drawers to unpack into. The queen bed was a bit on the small side. King bed was nice. With 4 adults, showers had to be staggered as water heater couldn't keep up. Other than that, enjoyable stay.
Private and quiet area.
House is very spacious with an awesome location right on the waterfront of a small river. Decent driving distance to pretty much everywhere you would want to go. The furthest thing away was Clearwater beach which is almost an hour but still manageable. Overall house was exactly as described and the hosts are awesome
This charming home is a very BIG solid four! As happens with older homes (we live in an old house, and LOVE that feel), there are a few quirks and idiosyncrasies, but nothing that’s going impact the quality of your stay. The photos of the property are very accurate representations of the house… it is really RIGHT on the river! There is a TON of space inside the house, giving everyone lots of breathing room; nice big open areas. The beds are super comfortable, and the A/C works perfectly – no Florida humidity to deal with inside. Ceiling fans everywhere are also very much appreciated. Washer and dryer are updated and work very well (really appreciated the generous supply of laundry detergent). We also loved how QUIET the house was. We spotted lots of wildlife in the river -- seabirds, turtles -- and even a little alligator on our last day! Some truly great restaurants are within a quick (5-minute) drive of the house -- so definitely pay attention to the recommendations the owners put on the chalkboard in the entryway. The nearest entrance to the highway system is less than a mile away… and it’s only about 10 minutes to Busch Gardens and less than 5 minutes to Zoo Tampa! The owner/manager, by the way, is excellent at communication -- always super appreciated!
We enjoyed our girls' weekend stay--having the river right outside was gorgeous and so calming. There was a lot of space in the house, plenty of room to spread out and relax. Tons of beds, super comfy couches, and a lovely waterfall shower in the main bathroom. Highly recommend this location for any Tampa stay!
Our family enjoyed themselves just simply hanging out on the property. They loved fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Making family memories. Thank you for having us!
