I searched forever for a cabin to accommodate my elderly parents and disabled sister. I had to search many listings to finally settle on elk horn. I chose it for the single level, minimal steps and most important for the recliner which my dad needs to sleep in due to osteoporosis/back issues. He has slept in a recliner at home the last three years. The recliner lever was broke off so he had to sleep in the other chair and use the ottoman which just wasn’t the best alternative. The cabin was nice but does need an appliance and decor update to compete with other cabins offered.

Very disappointed in The Elk Horn and the majority of the appliances are run down or broken. The guest bath tub had a hole in it when we arrived and took until 4pm the next day to get someone to respond and was fixed with Flex Seal Tape. The cleaners had to of noticed the hole already. The dishwasher does not drain, microwave sounds like it is going to explode at any moment (was even commented on by somebody in the guest book who stayed in June), recliner is missing the handle to recline, washing machine is awful and the dryer took 4 cycles to dry a load of towels. The water pressure is extremely low and you shower while standing in a Jacuzzi tub. When we first arrived, the hot tub was at 85F and took until the next morning to heat up which was disappointing for our kids. For the price, we will be looking elsewhere next time.
Biggest positive was it was clean.
Family spent Thanksgiving week at Elk Horn. The place was very clean and prepared. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Family room furniture was comfortable. We enjoyed using the hot tub, fire pit, and indoor fireplace. TVs in bedrooms and family room were all on cable and the wireless internet was reliable and fast enough. The kids ran joyously on the corner lot; though the road was busier than I would have wanted. Of course, the plus side of that is the easy access back to Hwy 259.
During the week, we observed the preparation crew servicing the other cabins around us and we can understand how thoroughly prepared the cabins are.
Thanks to the Broken Bow Cabins workers. They probably don't get enough compliments.
All in all we had a very good time - this being our first Vrbo experience.

Caution
We were very last minute to go to broken Bow so we kind of had to “take what we could get“. This was literally a take what you could get and settle. The bathrooms are very small and the water pressure is extremely low. The book in the living room was not updated so Instructions did not match up for the items that were there. There is not a smart TV so you cannot stream Netflix or any of that. I was very glad I had a HDMI cable with a Apple compatible adapter. My friend had a live roach on her washcloth that was in the basket. It was special has she had to kill it while she was taking a shower. It’s not a bad place, you just have to know before you go to not expect one of the luxury cabins. Also, it’s right on the road, so bringing dogs was a challenge. Other than it’s specific location, it’s a great new developing neighborhood.
Beautiful house. Great stay. Plenty of extras. Small issue with microwave. It didn't turn but did work. Well lit. Was not expecting to be so close to other houses. Would definitely come back here again. Clean up to date. Beautiful home.
