We got this place for my parents while they were visiting. They absolutely loved it! It was clean and had anything you needed even an extra toothbrush. One highlight was enjoying the evening on the deck and listening to old records. The kayaks were a nice touch also. This place was just what they needed to reset after much touring and visiting. They said they will always try to stay here.
Exactly what we were looking for in getaway. The perfect spot to just take a breath and enjoy the like air. So quiet and cozy. And, the homeowner was very helpful with our questions.
Beautiful little cottage on an great private lake, close to the city
Beautiful cottage and location, right on the lake, extremely close to the city. Hosts were amazing and extremely responsive. If you need a break from the city, don't hesitate, this place is great!
Helena is an amazing host appointing the cottage with everything we needed for our stay. She greeted us and showed us around which was truly an extra step and we appreciated it. The lake view was exactly what we had hoped and the location of the cottage relative to all the places we planned to go made access to everything quite easy. Top-notch place and we will definitely book here again the next time we are in the area.
We stayed 4 nights. It was great to wake up in the morning to be welcomed with a beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast and dinner with a view, what more can you ask for? Nearby are local breweries and wineries with a beautiful view. Our stay was relaxing as planned.
We enjoyed our stay on Orange Lake so much that we didn't want to leave. Very relaxing and comfortable to sit and gaze at the water. Excellent WIFI and a marvelous view of the rising moon. We truly felt like we had found a slice of Paradise.
Had a wonderful weekend with my wife on the lake. The perfect escape from NYC—and a quick one, too. Helena and Noel were tremendous hosts and ensured we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. We will be back!
We spent eight nights here in mid-November and enjoyed it thoroughly. Helena made sure we had everything we needed. Watching the sun rise over Orange Lake was a daily joy. When we weren't relaxing in the cottage, there were plenty of things to keep us occupied within a short drive. Catching the Metro-North train from Beacon was an easy way to spend a day in Manhattan. Overall, it was a great getaway and we definitely hope to return in the future!
Noel and Helena were great hosts and provided us with everything that we needed. They were a lovely very friendly couple. It was very relaxing location with beautiful sunrises. I enjoyed getting out on the kayak every day. The hour and half kayak around the lake is very peaceful.
Smooth, easy, efficient, and friendly from start to finish. Host was very accommodating and the cottage was ideal for two guests. Back door is ten feet from beautiful Orange Lake. This was an off-season (November) rental so no lake fun other then feeding the gulls. Intend to return when swimming and kayaking possible. Excellent choice and highly recommended!
This lovely little cottage is right on the lake. It’s immaculately kept, Helena was very responsive and helpful. Although the cottage is immediately behind the owners’ home, we only saw Noel once. He was warm and friendly but not at all intrusive. We did not get to meet Helena.
The cabin was perfect for a couple’s long weekend. It’s right on the lake with a beautiful view. We like to cook and the kitchen had everything needed. Helene was a helpful host. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Very relaxing visit. Quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed kayaking the lake. Peaceful setting with the lake right outside the back door. Helena and Noel were gracious hosts and very attentive to our needs.
This is a perfect location for the art lover who needs a quiet lakeside getaway. Easy drives to the three locations we wanted to visit: Olana, Stormking and Dia Becon. Thank you so much to our hosts, who were gracious and understanding with our bookings!
My wife , Linda and I can't properly describe the beauty of the lake which is right outside your door. On the morning the sun lights up the house and in the evening the moon shines its bright light on the lake creating wonderful patterns on the water. Swimming in the lake during this hot spell this last week was a blessing. There are two kayaks which we didn't use because we are seniors and not up to the task but I can imagine how wonderful it would feel to kayak on this large, wonderful lake. As for the hosts, Helena and Noel, they couldn't be more welcoming and delightful to talk with.
It was a pleasure to spend a week here and we will return next year.
Yes me and my wife stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing the location was beautiful and both property owners were very nice welcoming and knowledgeable of the area and of New York itself would highly recommend going here and also plan on coming back here numerous times in the next few years.
Lovely little cottage. Could have used more cooking vessels, salad bowl with salad fork and spoon for tossing. We like cooking. Other than that place was charming and every time I reached out to the host she answered in a timely manner.
I can’t say enough good things about our stay. The property is very comfortable, clean and charming,, situated right on the lake. We were disappointed not to be able to take in the sunsets over the lake since our days were filled with graduation activities at West Point, but just being on the water was so relaxing. Lastly, Helena couldn’t have been a better hostess!
We had a wonderful stay. The house is cozy and stocked with just about everything you need. Owner communication was excellent. The view was spectacular. The house truly is on the lake. I will definitely book again. Thanks again!
This gorgeous cottage is right on the lake - literally, the back door goes to the pier. In winter it was a meditative environment - sunrise, sunset, birds... In summer there would be BBQ, swimming, etc.
The owner was friendly and accessible. The full kitchen had all the basics - pot, pans, seasonings, oil, coffee, tea, etc. Shopping (Stop & Shop, Marshall's, Dollar General, Home Goods) and a movie theater are ten minutes away. The neighborhood is under some construction but did not interfere with my stay at all. Less than half hour away from antiques in New Paltz.
