The host was very helpful and the house was excellent and clean. The amenities were very good although we had questions about using the free-standing bath / shower in the top bedroom.Access via the narrow roads was difficult with a large car - but we managed.

Fournet is a gem!

The house was very comfortable and the surrounding area was delightful. We hiked, we met wonderful people and enjoyed the Dordogne valley and surrounding villages East and West!

Authentic French village experience

Well maintained for a historic building built in the year 1600. The hosts were warm, welcoming and so very helpful. Only draw back are narrow roads with tight turns into Fournet. Wonderful surroundings, close to prehistorical UNESCO caves and to a beautiful garden in Terrasson called Le Parc de l'Imaginaire. Thank you. Highly recommended. Lisette and Brian, Karl and Lynda

Quiet, peaceful and adorable accomodation

The owners are very kind and helpful introducing their house and environment. We enjoyed our short stay (6-12/4/2024). The well-equipped house is at the top of a hill, demanding a little bit drivers skills. We went hiking, visiting beautiful gardens and som pittoresk villages (Collogne la Rouge) and went to one of the most beautiful caves (Gouffre de Padirac). The 3 bedrooms are luxury. One of the bedrooms is accessible by a second entrance, giving more privacy. There are tv’s in the bedrooms but not in the dining room. We could appreciate this facilitating family interactions. Due to the more isolated location, you can walk to the bakery in the small village at the bottom of the hill (1Km) but you need the car if you want to go to all other activities. The hike around the lake starting at the house gives you 12Km easy and lovely vues. We loved it

We had a fantastic time at Maison de Charme au Coeur D'un Petit Village Gaillard-proche Lac du Causse. The rooms and decor were charming. The kitchen is fully stocked for long terms stays like we had. We were there for 3.5 weeks. The hosts were attentive to our needs, questions and requests. The location is central to all the wonderful sights around the Dordogne Valley. The property is close to a cute village call Saint Cernain de Larche and there is an amazing bakery that's walkable from the house. They have incredible croissants and baguettes baked daily. The lake is within walking distance or a 5 minute drive. We went to daily markets around the valley throughout the week for fresh meats, fruits and vegetables. The house comfortably sleeps 6.

Gîte au vert

Gîte très agréable, décoré avec goût.Tout est pensé pour passer d'agréables vacances au calme et au vert.Très pratique la chambre dans la cave, au frais et sans bruits.À savoir route un peu étroite et pentue pour accéder au gîte mais cela passe.Propriétaire très sympathique et de bons conseils.Nous reviendrons sans hésiter pour passer plus de temps.

Perpect huis!

We werden super vriendelijk door Séverine ontvangen. Vertelde vol enthousiasme wat te doen in de omgeving. Het huis is fantastisch en van alle gemakken voorzien! Het was erg warm deze week, maar binnen in het huis was het heerlijk koel door de dikke muren Smaakvol ingericht en de bedden zijn super! Kortom …. Een aanrader…!

Magnifique séjour aux Fournet de St Cernin

Séverine et Nicolas nous ont très gentiment accueilli lors de notre arrivée avec un cadeau de bienvenue très apprécié .Ils nous ont apporté tous les renseignements dont nous pourrions avoir besoin durant notre séjour tant dans le bon fonctionnement de la maison que pour visiter la région. La maison est parfaitement aménagée.Une cuisine très jolie et fonctionnelle(tous les ustensiles sont en très bon etat ce qui est rare dans les locations) .Chaque chambre possède sa propre salle de bain et son wc.A noter qu'une des chambres n'est pas accessible directement par l'intérieur de la maison mais quelques marches par l'extérieur, un plus pour une intimité supplémentaire dans la famille.Un petit jardin un peu sauvage juste comme on les aime avec des chaise longues pour admirer le ciel étoilé . Une terrasse avec une vue dégagée sur les montagnes alentours c'est magnifique pour les repas d'été.Nous n'avons malheureusement pas utilisé la belle plancha à disposition car la canicule était trop forte pour chauffer davantage.En revanche la proximité du lac à pieds ou en voiture a été très appréciée pour de belles baignades,ainsi que la soirée guinguette du dimanche très sympathique . Bref nous remercions Séverine et Nicolas très réactifs et présents pour chaque demande.Nous avons passé grâce à eux d'excellentes vacances.

Très belle maison

Nous avons passé une semaine agréable dans cette belle maison rénovée et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Séverine et Nicolas nous ont accueillis chaleureusement et étaient disponibles pour toute question durant le séjour. La proximité du lac du Causse est un grand plus, particulièrement pendant la canicule!

Schönes Haus in ruhiger Lage

Séverine und Nicolas sind sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet in einer sehr gelungenen und geschmackvollen Mischung aus Alt und Neu. Die Lage ist ruhig und idyllisch. Wir haben uns sehr sehr wohl gefühlt.

Maison au calme avec tout le confort

La maison et sa dépendance correspondent à une ancienne maison de vigneron et la bergerie. Elles ont été aménagées avec le respect des origines et beaucoup de goût. Nous sommes vraiment au calme et tout proche du lac de Causse et de Brive-la-Gaillarde. Nous avons pu visiter facilement les environs. Un séjour idyllique, le départ fut difficile.

Magnifique gîte

Nous avons passé 15 jours magnifiques au gîte des Vignes. Rénové avec goût, il allie tout le charme des vieilles pierres au confort moderne et offre des prestations de qualité (mention spéciale pour la chambre du haut !). Le gîte est par ailleurs très bien situé. Dans un petit village plein de charme mais à la croisée de 3 départements, il permet de gouter à la quiétude des lieux tout en partant facilement à la découverte des nombreux sites réputés à proximité. Séverine et Nicolas nous ont réservé un accueil chaleureux et ont eu à cœur de partager leur amour pour ces terres Gaillardes. Nous recommandons vivement et serons enchantés d’y retourner.
