The hosts were very communicative, helpful and friendly! We loved the cozy cabin for our family ski vacation. It was warm, inviting and had a very nice personal touch with the welcome sign for your family, a bag of delicious chocolate malt balls, and a ton of board and card games as well as a playstation4 with several games. I highly recommend this affordable, inviting and comfortable rental!
The cabin is clean and cozy. It has everything you need for a stay up north. Fire pit is great. Access to indoor pool is a bonus. Looking forward to our next trip.
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. The property was clean, well stocked and in a great location. The property owners were friendly and responded to questions very quickly.
I highly recommend this cabin! Very clean and well equipped. The beds are so comfortable! The cabin was very nicely decorated as well. We will definitely be back!
Our stay was perfect! The cabin had everything we needed. Very comfortable. The outdoor fire pit was the best, and they even supplied wood for us to use! The communication with the owners was great and responsive. Overall a very pleasant stay.
I have stayed in many cabins for the past 30 years and this cabin was extremely clean, organized, stocked with toiletries, decorated for the holiday and located in a beautiful area - especially for the winter months.
Highly recommend for the winter.
This cozy cabin had everything we needed and more! It’s right around the corner from Shanty Creek Resort. Approximately 50min to Charlevoix/Traverse City.
The cabin is very clean and cared for! Great short getaway
Our stay was wonderful and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed! Lisa and John were always available and responded so quickly if we had any questions. We will most definitely stay here again. We decided next time we will be staying an extra day and make it a longer stay! Thank you so much for everything!
The location was close to everything we wanted to do. It was clean and adorable. We loved sitting next to the firepit at night. WiFi connection was great which my kids really appreciated after spending 3 days in the upper peninsula. We Highly recommend.

Thank you for the kind words Nicole. We are so glad your family enjoyed your stay and we hope to have you back.
The cabin is nice and secluded. Easy to find yet has excellent feel. Host is excellent, great communication and takes into account finer details. We did not have any specific issues. Location is great with easy access to traverse city and Torch lake. Would definitely come back to this cabin in the future.
The Kabine is wonderful! It has space for family of 6. The kitchen made it easy to prepare meals after a day of skiing. Full washer and dryer are helpful to return home with clean clothes. Minutes away from Schuss Mountain, it was easy to get good parking, put on skis and get on the yellow lift. Lisa and John answered all messages in a timely manner and were great hosts. Highly recommend staying here.
It's all in the details! From the super clean rooms and nicely supplied kitchen to the bedrooms with lamps with phone-charging outlets, the variety of both board games, video games and online movies, and the fire pit with plenty of wood and roasting sticks, this cabin makes relaxing and having fun easy! The location is great for birdwatching, too! As out-of-towners, we enjoyed our first glimpses of oven birds and redstarts in the beautiful tree canopies overhead. We had a great time! Thank you.
This cabin was wonderful! The location was out there but that’s what we were seeking and it would have probably been in good proximity to the lodge if the Shanty Creek road had not been closed. This got us a little turned around (not too bad thanks to Siri..) but it was a nice place too and we went swimming there. The cabin itself was very nice, The beds were great. Our boys enjoyed the loft area with a play station. It had a nice washer and dryer we made use of. We cooked our meals in the full kitchen and built a fire in the fire pit. The best thing I could say about this place is how well equipped it was. The owners have thought of everything you could need and it is there. Things like bug spray, laundry detergent, every dish or item needed to cook with, you could need, board games, toiletries, and more. I would fully recommend staying here and would again if I was ever in the area.

Pros to this cabin. It is set in a thick set of trees. Very quiet. Comfortable beds. Nice bath towels and paper products.
My husband and I arrived on a Wednesday. It had been raining for quite a while and the large trash bins were out on the road. They were filthy dirty from being splashed by the dirt and mud on the road. They were filled with a lot of water and had trash floating in them. When I texted the owner to see if my husband and I were expected to bring them in she said yes. So we had to dump out the water and pick up someone else’s trash. Gross. That is something I would think the clean up crew should have done. Their trash pick up day is Monday so they should not have still been out on Wednesday.
When we got in the cabin I noticed that the smoke alarm was hanging by a wire from the ceiling in the loft so my husband went up and fixed it.
The small table lamp by the front door must have a short in it because it would intermittently flash on and off several times. We tried putting a new bulb in it but that didn’t help.
The reclining loveseat was comfortable. However, the left side footstool must be bent as it was very difficult to get it to close. We fought with it all week.
Overall the cabin was very clean but when we moved the loveseat to see if we could fix the footstool mechanism, there was some food (such as crackers) and some misc. other things under it.
With some attention to detail, I feel like this cabin would definitely rate a 5.
We loved our stay at this cabin! Everything was perfect. They provided everything we needed and it was so peaceful. It even had the softest towels, toilet paper and the most comfortable beds.
Beautiful clean cabin in a beautiful location! The owners did a wonderful job furnishing the cabin and were quick to respond to messages sent. Enjoyed our stay very much!
