About this property

Restful Recreation. Modern comfortable home, great location, guests love it.

This modern comfortable property is an open, light and warm two-storey house with a 3 minute walk to Hihi Beach. It has a nice view of the sea and the rolling green hills. Sit outside in comfort in winter or summer. Enjoy the sun during the day and stars at night as you enjoy the peace. Hihi is a very safe and quiet environment at night and during the day. A great place to relax, fish, golf, walk or go for a run

It is a large home, with a master bedroom and living area upstairs, an open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen, all with different views of sea and mountains. There is a a large deck upstairs facing north-west, with outdoor furniture and a BBQ available downstairs.

We will provide you with towels, pillows, blankets and duvet covers. We have some linen available, but ideally you will bring your own sheets, pillow cases and beach towels.

There is free wifi and fibre available and a smart TV with popular apps connected to the internet. However, you will need to sign in to your own account in order to use apps such as Netflix. Alternately, bring an HMDI dongle such as Google TV. We also have a selection of games and DVD's for all ages.

Hihi is a wonderful family holiday location with a safe swimming beach and a boat ramp. Great for sailing, kayaking, diving and fishing.

Fishing is good all year and extra good from Feb to April. Use the stainless steel fish bench to process your fish and then store the catch in the freezer.

There is a great golf course 15 minutes away at Whangaroa and two more within 40 minutes: Carrington and Kaitaia.

Hihi is a 7 minute drive from Mangonui and Coopers Beach with its restaurants, pub, cafes and shops. It’s also a great place to fish from the wharf at certain times of the tide.

If you enjoy mountain biking and kayaking there are interesting places to explore. Just discuss this before you move in. Our family are keen on sports so we can give you many suggestions on how to make good use of the area for biking, running and fishing. We might even tell you some great fishing spots!

Special conditions:
We will discuss our expectations with all visitors. It's the usual things such as water conservation, where things are, smoking outside etc. .

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to clean the house and do the dishes before you leave. However, we will clean it for you for a small fee if so desired.

Comfortable and close to the beach

The house was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. There is a separate toilet downstairs as well as toilet and bathroom upstairs. It was very hot when we stayed there but it as easy to open up the doors and get a lovely through breeze upstairs in the living area. The owner/manager was very responsive to any communication. We very much enjoyed our week there, often wandering down to the beach for a swim at any tide.

Lovely modern home, easily catered for 6 adults. Easy access to the local beach which is a safe swimming location - good for young families. Only a short drive to access surf beaches.

Great base to explore from

We used the house at Hihi as a great base location to explore the top of the North Island for the our 5 day stay. With so many awesome local beaches pretty much on the doorstep we were able to both adventure and relax. The house itself was very clean and well appointed for the 5 of us to settle in and feel like home immediately. Thanks for enabling us to have a great time on our holiday.

Having decided to book a last minute week on the North coast before the grandchildren went back to school, we were so lucky to have found this great place just a couple of minutes from Hihi beach. The accommodation suited us very well and our first impressions were: very nice, clean and tidy, spacious, well equipped, lovely views of Hihi beach and beyond. All details for access and departure were clear and went smoothly. Our grand daughters (9 and 6) are serious Monopoly players, now! Thank you Richard for leaving milk in the fridge, and other pantry items, which we hadnt expected. Our grand daughters would love to make this an annual holiday so who knows, we may be back again.
