A beautiful accommodation with everything you need. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. A beautiful beach is very close by. The price-performance ratio is excellent, absolutely recommended!
Excellent very modern barn conversion with stunning views towards the sea and an extinct volcano. Good get away from it all location on a farm, set in it's own grounds
We were blown away by this modern, and tidy accomodation. It was a clean & welcoming home, with features of the original woolshed showing through. Great stay, everything we needed, plus a very communicative host. Highly recommend
I know the pictures are incredible but they don't compare to being there in person. Everything was perfect. The night sky was our favorite surprise. The almost private beach down the road and the shopping in Raglan make this remote location feel close to the most important stuff. The hosts and the space exceeded all expectations. My mom is already planning her return trip.
We loved our stay at the Ruapuke Retreat and would highly recommend it to others!!!
It was very quiet and peaceful with a lovely view of farm land and the ocean in the distance. The place was very clean, tidy and was well equipped with everything you need. Communication with the hosts was quick and efficient and we felt very at home.
Our kids thought it was very exciting being on a farm
We will definately be back. Thanks Evonne and Hardy 😀
Very nice, clean place, we enjoyed our stay except for one black aggressive dog who charged our son and barked at us anytime he was around. We contacted our host but she related the dog was a working farm dog. We love dogs and have had many but just wished this dog was put away while we stayed. Other than that it was a beautiful view and about 20-25 minutes from Raglan beach town.

Country hideaway.
We had a wonderful stay at this country hideaway. The views were amazing! We could see the ocean and the country side. The apartment was an old sheep sheering barn, but you would never know it. We walked into this modern apartment, it was very open, and lots of light coming in the windows. Be sure to shut the blinds if you leave during the day, it helps with the heat. It was warm in the afternoon but cooled off quickly. No A/C or fans. They did have bedding linens, but don't forget to bring your own towels.

Wonderful guests to host who were quiet and respectful. The woolshed was left very clean and tidy. Thank you. We hope you enjoy your travels.
Note: The woolshed has a heat pump , which is also an air conditioning unit. It heats and cools the whole area. The remote is located on the wall. We are readily available if you have any problems or questions.
What a awesome job they have done with the conversion of the woodshed, you’d hardly even know. Located at a beautiful spot with views of the ocean and farmland. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back another time.
Don't stay here if you like to pop down to the cafe for a coffee.
It is ideal if you prefer quiet (though the magpies might start up at 6am), and distant sea views ("over there between the land and the sky", said Basil Fawlty).
The rolling paddocks of green are picturesque. The beach nearby is wild and remote - black sand. It's great for walking, but not recommended for swimming.
Driving to this stay you pass rolling green pastures and then arrive atop a hill with a beautiful outlook over the dairy farm to the ocean beyond. The barn was super clean, nicely equipped and had large windows to enjoy the view. If you don’t mind driving a little away then this place is perfect. Tranquil and picturesque
Our family stayed a few days & loved our time there. Beautiful home, views, can’t fault anything. Thank you to the owners. Plan to return for the next holiday.
This property offers you everything you have at home and more. The house is very well equipped, properly isolated and warm(heatpump). The breath-takingly beautiful views is something we still miss (but we have had the opportunity to experience the beautiful views and lots of memories to treasure). The tranquil location is quite unique to this house.
Location wise, this property is a quick and comfortable drive into Raglan(nearest) and also the Bridal Veil Falls.
I highly recommend this bach to any family of four. It was quite an amazing experience which we will treasure for ever.
What a stunning view this place has! We had a lovely two nights stay. The stars are so stuning. Hosts are so friendly. Everything is just perfect. The beach is so close, only about 6 minutes drive, it was our son's first time seeing the ocean and playing on the beach. We had a great time, we definitely would come back.
