Everything you need for a relaxing stay

The location of this property is fantastic. Only a few minutes walk to the Town Centre with its yummy bakery and cafe/restaurants. It’s about a really short bike ride and about a 15 minute walk to the main beach along the handy path that runs parallel to the Town Centre. We enjoyed the use of the bikes and exploring Pauanui. The weather wasn’t so great for us but we had the Foos Ball table to keep us busy in this cozy place with everything you need for a relaxing stay.

This property was unfortunately very poorly maintained, clutered, and quite dirty and dusty. Both the upstairs and in particular the downstairs part of the house smelt of mould. Left 1 day earlier than paid for due to above :-( ... Contacted the host and received an apology.

We were upset to get this review of our much loved family bach. In response to the review Simon let us know about an outdoor wooden table and gate which broke during his stay. We have fixed these now. I would say the house is well stocked rather than cluttered, which our guests appreciate. Our cleaner comes regularly and the house is clean with no mould evident. We have had a lot of heavy rain lately and did discover a leak which we are fixing. The downstairs area needs regular airing particularly after heavy rain and if it hasn't been occupied for a while. We have installed sliding doors for this purpose. This is not 5 star accommodation but a typical Pauanui Scandinavian style home, priced accordingly.

Great spot, perfect weather

The beach was awesome! The house was good, great views! The ladies thought it could have been cleaner, especially the floors, the toilet (the outside of the bowl as well), the back of the toilet door needs a wipe down. Also there was a flat tray in the oven which was grotty, we started cleaning it and gave up... Apart from that, the only thing that caught us unawares was no internal stairs to access the downstairs area. Thanks, we did enjoy our stay!

We have a new cleaner. I shared your comments with her and she has put extra effort in to make sure everything is spick and span! We are about to replace the oven with a brand-new model and have reminded our cleaner to check this too!

Break away

Location good, property a little tired. Shade on deck needs some maintenance (support pole broken). Beds upstairs very, very soft. Empty rolls of baking paper, glad wrap in kitchen, no rubbish bags for bins and not enough toilet rolls. Access to kayaks, bikes, boards under the house great but not advertised, as we would have taken bike helmets and bike pump. Inside windows need cleaning as spots of mould (bedrooms upstairs). Overall though we enjoyed our stay.

We are planning on fixing the support pole for the awning and giving the house a good clean. The kitchen is very well stocked but we do rely on guests to replace what they use and do not supply toilet paper for the whole stay. The main bedroom queen bed has a relatively new mattress which I would describe as very comfortable. The outside equipment - bikes, kayak and boogie boards are documented in the welcome guide.

Perfect spot

Location was great close to shops and boat ramp

Great holiday with that good old kiwi batch feel Close to the boat ramp and the shopping centre only 2 to 3 minutes walk I could not get the TV down stairs to operate to save my life! The oven door needs attention the right hand hinge is seized hence not shutting properly and the seals are perished hence taking a long time to cook in the oven The back yard was covered in dog droppings But overall it was an enjoyable stay had by all and a big thanks to Lisa for everything My kids died without Wifi I enjoyed it just quietly good to get them off the phones and playing all the games we had back in the day

The TV is upstairs and works well. Downstairs is used as a monitor for playing dvds. Thanks for letting us know about the oven. It's time to look at upgrading. I checked and it is in working order. Wifi is available 24/7 on the seats surrounding the information centre - 2mins walk. Once Pauanui has ultrafast broadband we will consider installing. Apologies for dog droppings - our bach is pet friendly but we expect the pet owners to clean up after their pets and our cleaner focused on the house not the back yard.

We are repeat visitors and love staying here. Comms with owners is outstanding, always feel welcomed. Love the location and being able to have our wee dog with us is always a bonus. Thanks again!

We thoroughly enjoyed Pauanui, the town has a very warm & welcoming feeling about it.

The bach was comfortable for a large group and we loved the views from the deck and the peace and quite of the surrounding area. Thank you Lisa for sharing your bach with us.
