The house is conveniently located close to central Wanaka with views to the lake and mountains from the upstairs bedroom. It is spacious, sunny and warm and well equipped with everything you need. Peter, the host, lives next door and is very helpful if needed for anything. We would recommend Peter’s house to anyone looking for a comfortable base for a stay in Wanaka.

Beautiful, warm and cosy. Great location. Peter is a fantastic host. House is very warm. 4 bedrooms. One room had two beds (seemed like camp bed style) and the beds weren’t overly comfortable but the rest of the house was amazing. Peter was very kind and attentive. The fireplace was amazing as was the bath. Great stay overall. There is a really great skis locker and the warm floors in the bathroom were so great. The artwork was fabulous. I highly recommend.

Lovely lovely home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Peter’s home is the perfect location for your stay in Wānaka as everything you’ll want to see and do is an easy walk or quick drive. The beds are soooo comfortable, the kitchen was very efficient and well equipped, washer and dryer are a nice plus as is the parking carport, and there is a ton of room inside and out. One of our most favorite stays!

This is a stunning home that was an absolute pleasure to stay in. Extremely clean and tidy, great open plan flow, everything you need provided with a lovely outdoor area and garden. Wanaka

First time in Wanaka and The Art House was a perfect place for it. Just outside of main town area and next to a big park. House had everything that you could need and had great spaces for relaxing especially when enjoying the fireplace!

Lovely house, very well set up.

We booked The Art House, to celebrate a return to Wanaka after not having visited for a number of years and we were not disappointed. The communication with the host, Peter, was great and he went above and beyond to make our check in process easy and comfortable, even lighting the fire for us when we advised him we would be arriving late.The house itself was warm, comfortable, and very well equipped. Admittedly I thought the property would be a bit closer to town than it actually was, but that's my fault for not looking at the map properly. It's still walkable, but it's a long-ish walk. All in all we have no major complaints. The only minor niggle was that the downstairs heatpump was quite noisy no matter what setting it was on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

The Art House experience

Four of us stayed at this beautiful, comfortable (especially the beds), well-equiped house. It was great to have the owner next door in case we had questions or concerns. Everything was in good working order & the laundry facility was great. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood with lovely views, easy off street parking with a 10 to 15 minutes walk to town. We were all delighted with our stay & have no hesitation in recommending it to others

Great location with every amenity you could ask for. Backyard garden with fresh fruits and vegetable. Walking distance to downtown Wanaka. Easy access to wine country and the mountains. Peter is a great host!

A great place to stay with extended family. Spacious, relaxing, well appointed, well maintained.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a beautifully maintained property with a lovely feel to it and worked really well for our extended adult family. An easy walk into town and great views, especially from the matter bedroom.

Nicest house we stayed at in New Zealand

The art house was an absolutely wonderful base for exploring Wanaka. The home is decorated in a lovely way. Lots of beautiful art and little touches. Phenomenal beds and bedding. Fully stocked kitchen with upscale appliances. Great couches and chairs. Beautiful vegetable garden. The host, Peter, could not have been nicer. We’ve stayed in 18 homes on our 3 month trip. This is the first we’d love to live in.

We had a great holiday in Art house. The house is very well laid out, plenty of room, clean and tidy with everything we needed. Awesome indoor/outdoor living for hot sunny days. Great location, only a short stroll into town. Amazing views from upstairs!! We will definitely be back!
