About this property

Tranquil Bush Setting Apartment Hobart 2 Bedroom. Pet friendly.

Situated on 5 acres this newly renovated self-contained 2 bedroom Apartment in Geilston Bay just outside Hobart has all modern facilities build in for comfortable living. It is part of a large family home but if fully separated with your own front and rear entries. Also an abundance of parking.
Bedroom 1 has a king bed. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds (see photo) that on request can be made up as another King Bed the same as Bedroom 1. Just let us know your choice of configuration when booking. Each bedroom has its own remote controlled TV, a set of drawer, a wardrobe and touch lamps next to the beds.
We are located less than 12klm from central Hobart. Our Apartment offers a peaceful place to stay in a bush environment 110m above sea level, close to nature with views of the Derwent River. A large green lawn at the rear of our property to take in the peacefulness and surroundings.
My wife and co-host Vonnie likes to spoil our visitors so on your arrival you will find some free items in the unit for you. As a welcoming gesture we provide interstate and international guests with a free bottle of Tasmanian wine. Also we provide tea, coffee, Milo, full cream milk, Lite Milk, 4 bottles of water, eggs, bacon, margarine, bread, Vegemite, honey, cooking oil, sauces, usual condiments and fresh fruit of the season as well as any items listed in our Amenities.
Keeping warm in winter and cool in summer will not be a problem as the unit is fully insulated with a reverse cycle air conditioner installed. A comfortable lounge suite in front of a large screen smart TV for relaxing times.
The BBQ area in our back yard includes an outdoor setting and large screen TV. Views of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington/kunanyi through the abundance of native trees. It is a nice place to sit and relax in the sun.
Tourist attractions close-by include, Mona (10 mins), Richmond Historic Village (15mins), Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (20mins), Salamanca Place/Market (15mins), Port Arthur Historic Site (1hr 25mins) and many others. Great golf courses within a 20 min drive.

My wife and I have lived most of our later life in Tasmania. Now that we are retired we thought we would use our asset to earn us some extra money but also meet new people when they come to stay with us. I enjoy playing golf and looking after the property exterior and my wife looks after everything else including our wildlife animals.

Why they chose this property

I love space so when I came across this block of land back about 35 years ago I fell in love with the location on the hill away from the highway. We love the animals that surround us. We love our back lawn area but the wallabies are not allowed. There is plenty for them to eat out the front of our house.

What makes this property unique

We are on 5 acres of land and Hobart (the Capital of Tasmania) is only a 15 minutes drive from our property. We are 110m above sea level and have views of the Derwent River. It is so peaceful up here it is hard not to enjoy sitting down outside and relaxing. See our reviews on Vrbo, Expedia, Booking.com and Airbnb.
