Kick back, relax on the generous covered deck, with outdoor fireplace and barbecue - this is an idyllic characterful two-bedroom cottage, plus sleepout “studio” with bathroom.

Located on quiet Waikanae Beach street location close to estuary, Waimanu lagoon, Waikanae river, and 10 min walk to the beach, with nearby dairy, bakery, and eateries.

Main dwelling: open-plan modernised interior with woodburner, functional kitchen with gas stove and island bench, and compact bathroom containing shower, WC, and washing machine.

The main bedroom has a Superking bed and the second bedroom has a Queen bed.

‘Studio’ sleepout has a King single with rollout trundler. There is a bathroom with shower, WC and vanity.

We had an awesome stay here. The place was warm, tidy and really comfy — the fire got the space toasty in no time. The bed was great and it was a nice surprise to find an air fryer along with everything we needed in the kitchen. It’s a quiet street with heaps of native birdsong in the mornings. Such a peaceful spot, we’d happily come back again!

We absolutely loved our stay! The house had everything we needed and so peaceful. The birdsong is so impressive as you sit having your coffee in the morning sun outside. Geast location for walks through the reserve and beach.

6 of us stayed at this lovely air b n b, was perfect, very clean, nice ourdoor area with a bbq and covered seating. Me and my partner stayed in the batch with an ensuite, was nice to have our own private space out there. Host was very communicative. Would stay again.

Cosy and convenient

We stayed 3 nights with 4 kids aged 4 to 12 and this place was great because the 2 bed self contained sleepout provided a perfect retreat fir the kids while parents and our 4 yo relaxed in the main house with the cosy fireplace. Everything was setup nicely and well equipped with quality dishes and cutlery etc.Very happy with this little haven and highly recommend it.

Our Hicks holiday house is our chance to getaway from the city and spend time at the beach and get out boating, biking, swimming and fishing. I enjoy being a host as this is our chance to share the outdoor lifestyle and allows others to explore the trails around Waikanae river and lagoon.

What makes this property unique

I enjoy having a morning coffee on the undercover deck and listening to the this. The deck extends the living space so we can cook on the bbq and eat outdoors.
