Old wood home situated on 5 acres- Located 1 mile from the Gulf of Mexico, the Steinhatchee river, the local boat ramp, and some of the best seafood in the state! This home has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a nice kitchen and large dining room with plenty of space to seat all your friends and family! Also a screened in front porch for enjoying the quiet summer evenings. Gas grill, covered garage and plenty of boat parking available. Very private and perfect for your family's unplugged weekend getaway.

This place is a lovely example of old Florida.

This little cottage is a perfect example of old Florida. It is a lovely Cypress cottage. You have privacy and yet you are close to restaurants, marinas and you are only 17 miles from Keaton Beach. We will be back.

Scalloping

We had a nice stay for 2 nights here. It is a nice little cabin in a very quiet area. Plenty of room for parking several cars or even multiple boats. Washer and dryer are outside and worked fine. Ms. Dorothy was a wonderful hostess. The only thing that I wish were a little clearer was possibly some directions on which remote to use for the TV and DVD player and which input to set the TV. It took us a minute to figure that out. Once we did, everything was fine.

Dorothy is a fantastic host.

We stayed for the weekend with our teenage kids. The property location is great and provides boat parking. We brought a 26’ cat boat and had no problems getting in or out of the driveway. The bonus of the trip was an item left behind that was found and mailed back to my home. Very appreciated kindness. Thank you ladies.

fishing get away

we all loved the privacy and short drive to Sea Hag marina where we went fishing. first time using VRBO and was very pleased. only thing my wife complained about was there was no toaster in the kitchen

Not bad but not great fish shack

Pros-Great location, shower water pressure and owners very responsive and nice. Cons-very dated, TV was broken, AC unit in 2/3 rooms, furniture very uncomfortable and need replaced. Issue with bugs. Florida I expect bugs but dead and not flying Around bedroom all night and roaches crawling. We ended up only staying 1/2 nights we booked due to the bugs and being uncomfortable. We stay in Steinhatchee every year to scallop and always use VRBO. I would not recommend the house at their current rates, overpriced.

Clean cozy cabin minutes away from the boat ramp

We rented two cabins in steinhatchee for 4th of July weekend. We spent most of our time at this cabin as it was the perfect hang out spot for all of us. The screened in porch was perfect for games, sitting around, talking and drinking. The dining area is in a Florida room with lots of windows, so no bugs bothering you while you eat but still feel like your outdoors. It had plenty of parking for the boat and a clean grill perfect for ribs and burgers! Also, Dorothy was very responsive and helpful. We hope to be back we love this little town.

Memories of days gone by

Over all exactly as posted - reminded us of our grandparents home. The only negative was the TV volume was very low, couldn’t hear it or adjust the volume on TV or remotes. But overall VERY pleasant and relaxing.

Cute little house, wonderful owner. She and her family were extremely helpful and friendly. Everything was well stocked. I would definitely stay again. Close to beach and fishing. The only down sides are the lack of internet, no cable, w/d and the hunting dogs sounding off occasionally. But I would highly recommend this place. Absolutely love the owner and her family ❤️!

It’s an old house like described. It’s cute and comfortable.

Don’t expect a luxury house but it is clean and comfortable. Exactly what she describes. The owner answers any questions super fast and has everything you need is there. Will definitely stay there again when I need to get away from the crazy busy city life.
