About this property
Bellevue House Historic Luxury
Step back in time without sacrificing comfort at Bellevue House, a magnificent 1840s Georgian sandstone home in historic Richmond. Beautifully restored, it features four spacious bedrooms, multiple living areas, and a bar/games room in the former servants’ quarters. With grand interiors, lush gardens, and close proximity to Richmond’s heritage precinct and the Coal River Valley, it’s a truly unique Tasmanian experience.
Bellevue House is a heritage-listed Georgian sandstone home, built in 1840 and now immaculately restored to combine historic grandeur with luxurious comfort. The flexible floorplan spans two levels and includes four spacious bedrooms, making it ideal for groups seeking elegance and privacy in one of Tasmania’s most charming towns.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a generous living room, a double bedroom, and a beautifully appointed family bathroom featuring a large walk-in shower, double vanity, and European-style laundry. The heart of the home is the open-plan kitchen and dining space, which comfortably seats ten and showcases exposed brick, original stonework, and underfloor heating.
Upstairs, the private master suite includes a king bed, walk-in wardrobe, and a luxurious ensuite complete with a restored claw foot bath. Two further double bedrooms, each with built-in wardrobes, are also located upstairs. These bedrooms have the option to share the ensuite via a second door or have it locked off for privacy.
Throughout the home, you’ll find restored sash windows, ornate fireplaces, wide timber floors, and elegant Georgian detailing, all enhanced by modern touches like hydronic heating and Wi-Fi throughout.
The beautifully converted outbuildings, once used as stables and cells, now house a bar and games room with a pool table, offering a unique entertainment space. Outside, guests are encouraged to wander through the gardens, discover the secret outdoor rooms, and even collect fresh eggs from the resident chickens.
Please note: due to stair access, antique furnishings, and styling, the home is not suitable for young children or pets.
Guests have full and private access to the entire home, including all four bedrooms, both bathrooms, living and dining areas, kitchen, gardens, and the bar/games room in the outbuildings. Off-street parking is available onsite.
Your privacy is paramount, but our dedicated management team is always just a message away for any questions or recommendations. We want your stay to be as seamless and enjoyable as possible, and our team is here to assist with anything you may need.
