A Beautiful Location

Best part was the wildlife. Accommodation was tired but adequate with some expected items lacking. Needs a big renovation and revamp. No microwave so had to heat my coffee on stove(brought my own pod machine) Oven machine needed lifting out into the bench to connect to the power. No instructions of how to use it.Needs renovation and modernisation.

What makes this property unique

The Kookaburra Cottage was one of 5 cabins built in the 1990s on a private nature reserve just out of Nannup. The Kookaburra is a private one bedroom cottage with a separate bathroom, toilet, living space, kitchen, verandah and parking area. The bedroom has a king bed and includes all linens, spare blankets, an electric blanket for extra warmth and an electric log fire for those cool Nannup evenings. The bathroom is spacious, complete with a corner spa bath. The kitchen is equipped with cooking essentials - a stove top, a mini-electric oven, air-fryer and a fridge for cold storage.

The living space overlooks the verandah with a TV, Bose speaker for tunes and DVDs for an old school night in. You’ll also find coffee table books, novels from fellow travellers or even a board game but unfortunately we do not yet have wifi in the cottage - please use Telstra hotspot.

Dine inside or out depending on the weather, everything is fully undercover and there is a BBQ (electric) on the verandah. The cottage and the verandah overlook the Blackwood River and the beautiful bush surrounds — birds will come to feed every morning, and the groundskeepers alpacas may be roaming.

Hot or cold, the cottage has reverse cycle air-conditioning, ceiling fans, electric blankets and an electric log fire for ambience.

The cottage is located just 15 minutes by car from the town of Nannup, along a beautiful winding road that passes through wineries, farmland and bush reserve. It is far enough from town to feel a sense of seclusion, but close enough to everything you could possible need for your stay.

There is so much to do in Nannup and surrounds - the area is brimming with artisan produce and goods, slow activities like bushwalking or for the more adventurous - mountain biking with world class trails on your doorstep, not to mention a winery just across the road.
