Heron's Nest, proudly managed by Beach Getaways, sits directly on Cotton Bayou, just steps away from the beautiful, blue waters and sugary sand beaches of Orange Beach, AL. This quaint cottage invites you and your fur-baby to travel together. Not far from Perdido Pass at Alabama Point (and, 1/2 mile from the Cotton Bayou boat ramp), boat owners will enjoy convenient access to a pier and boat slip. The pier is shared with one other cottage, Dunrobin of Cotton Bayou, and allows for 2 mid-size boats between 20' - 30' in length. Both cottages may be booked together when you need to accommodate more guests. Call us for details.

This home is located near the heart of the family-friendly, beachfront town of Orange Beach, AL. Activities include: charter fishing boats and fishing equipment at nearby Zeke's Landing Marina, boat & jet ski rentals, para-sailing, dolphin cruises, sunset sailboat cruises, beautiful back bays for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing, amusement parks, great restaurants with entertainment for all ages, golf, outlet malls, shopping, live concerts at The Wharf Amphitheater, and of course, plenty of powder-white sand. In addition, there are many places where fur-babies are welcome, including; dog parks and many local restaurants This is your ideal vacation getaway.

The pier is shared with one other house and allows for 2 mid-size boats between 20' - 30' in length. While Kayaks and Paddleboards can launch easily from the dock, boats must use the public launch located at the head of Cotton Bayou.

Policies:
1. Check in is 4pm | Check out is 10am.
2. No Smoking in home or on balcony.
3. Dogs up to 25lbs welcome (limit of 2). $250 non-refundable dog fee per animal; pre-registration is required
4. Loud parties or gatherings will not be tolerated
5. Must be at least 25 years old to rent. For groups of Single Adults, all guests in the group must be at least 25 years of age and proof of age will be required before approving the reservation.

Summer vacation

We decided this year we wanted a simple summer vacation. We wanted to bring our boat, fish, and play in the water. We did all of that plus some ! This is literally the perfect spot. We had so much fun and will definitely be back

Very nice location and view. The property was very dated and the stove half worked. They did promptly replace the grill that was broke. Would love to stay again if they updated and got a decent sized tv in living area.

Great location with a wonderful boat dock. Quant cottage with nice views and conveniently located next to Zekes Marina and restaurant. House needs a deep clean. Check in was 3. Cleaning staff came at 4; took pics and left. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, loved the dock, house needs a lot of work

We had to wait to check in which wasn’t a huge deal, just a slight inconvenience. Upon arrival there is a long driveway full of thick bushes. They advertise boat friendly place but I it was too narrow for our boat to go down without getting our boat scratched up. Once inside the back door knob was falling off. I notified the maintenance crew and they didn’t arrive until midnight therefore we couldn’t even go to bed until the doors were secure. The kitchen was full of roaches and the HVAC couldn’t keep the home cool. Will not return here.

We try our best to address any concerns that same day so that each guest has the best experience possible, and we apologize for the delay. We alerted the Property Care Team of the kitchen, and they are making sure every detail mentioned is addressed and resolved. Maintenance was alerted on the HVAC not working properly and it was replaced July 15th. This property consistently receives 5 stars, we would welcome a future opportunity to earn 5 stars from you. Perfect for us.

We loved the dock area especially! Our dogs had the best time playing out there as well. We enjoyed our stay and liked the location. I will say with the money that was spent renting that place, they could have done better than the cheap stuff that was provided. I mean one ply toilet paper, come on now.

This was a perfect little family home!

It was my mom, sister, nephew (age 6), myself and two dogs. I can not say enough wonderful things about this amazing home! The sunrise views with morning coffee, to the comfy beds at night. If you are looking for the home away feel and like the best washer ever. This is the place. It has the best charm.

Much needed rest!!

The place was fabulous!! The bed was awesome!! We paid 6000 for our bed and it's horrible!! The location perfect and even though I packed everything we needed, Everything we needed was already there!! Only thing missing was an elevator 😆 my sweet man had a little difficulty with his knees. He used the back deck steps. We will be back !! Save our place 2 weeks next time!! I work ER and I so needed this break 😩 hated to leave so we didn't lol we booked another night at a local hotel and spent the day on a boat chilling 🙃. Love Orange Beach Alabama!!!

The house was perfect for our stay. Great location and it feels private being tucked away on the inland bay. Seeing dolphins off the end of the dock was cool. Being pet friendly was a bonus.

Amazing Location!!

This beach house is amazing! The dock was literally the best part. We spent every evening of our four day trip down there looking at the sunset. Had a dolphin swim by the first day! The inside of the house is so clean and welcoming!! And having a washer and dryer there was nice. The beach is with in a 5 minute drive from the house. We can’t wait to book another trip to Orange Beach because of this beach house!

Not As Expected

Upon our arrival at 5:00pm the front door was open and the house was not finished cleaning, mind the check-in time of 3pm. The cleaning lady apologized but still this is unacceptable. The photos do not do justice to this place, it is very run down and old. There was no dish soap, 1 roll of paper towels, 3 rolls of toilet paper, no dust pan, and no trash bags. The living room couches were super dirty and holes are in couch cushions. We found multiple cockroches, spills down the walls and pet hair piled on the broken baseboads. The flooring and ceiling were peeling as well as the doors. Also, please beware the bedroom flooring in master suite was a plywood of sorts. The dock was super nice but do note it is a shared dock to the house that sits infront of it so it can become quite busy with neighbors running under your house. Checkout time stated in our welcome book 11am, we got caught in a tropical storm so with the rain down pour we were running behind. We were greeted with a rude cleaning lady at 11:51am as we were SOAKING wet trying to load our car and trailer with a newborn and two kids. I WILL NOT be back to this place. It was a huge disappointment and quite a waste of money.

Family Spring Vacation

Herons Nest was the perfect place to reconnect with family. It’s very homey and relaxing. Our grandsons had a great time playing football on our private beach. We all loved swinging on the dock watching the dolphins. Close to public beach, stores and restaurants. Our dog Freddie loved it too!

Nice Property

We were given the wrong address and arrived after dark 6pm). finally figured out the right property. Needs lighting underneath by stairway and overall underneath. Several lights not working so at night hard to see outside. The inside was nice, comfortable beds, nice deck. Still cleaning up from hurricane damage.

Loved Heron's Nest.

Great beach cottage very roomy and with everything we needed. Very clean. They even had board games dvds and even a pair of binoculars! Just what I was looking for. Looking forward to staying there again soon! MyBeachGetaways is wonderful to work with very responsive and very nice.

We really enjoyed staying at Heron's Nest. It was great for our first visit to Gulf Shores. The home was clean and neat and had some sweet charm. We enjoyed the yard (we had 2 dogs) and we even saw a dolphin off of the dock!

Perfect Getaway Spot

Heron's Nest was perfect for our little three night getaway. The cottage was comfortable and filled with all the amenities we needed. We loved drinking our coffee on the deck overlooking Cotton Bayou each morning. We enjoyed the dock and floating around in the water during the day. We also had one memorable meal on the picnic table on the dock. In addition to relaxing and swimming off the dock, we rented a kayak one day and a boat the other. In the evenings after the gorgeous sunsets, we loved being able to access Netflix and use Roku to access all our streaming services. Plus we discovered a whole cache of DVDs and a player. While we enjoyed the bay, it was also nice to have the beach and the Gulf just across the street. We had a couple of early morning beach walks. This relaxing, casual home has it all!
